Hi guys! The comments are showing up weird to me but multiple people asked how much the dorm cost! It was 1,000,000 won for a semester which is about $850 to $890 (as of now)! If you attend an IGC school then you can stay at this dorm. Things have definitely changed since corona and I don't have much info about new costs + quarantine.

this is such a cute video. I just received my admittance yesterday to GMU Korea and will likely be there in the spring!
VictoriaWithaK can you please give me tips on how you applied there and also how you were able to cover the tuition fees? As well as how long you attended GMU before going to korea. I’m applying to GMU and would like to study in korea and just need some advice and tips.
Blasian Babyy hi. I didn’t attend GMU at all prior to applying. You are able to apply straight away to the school without going to Fairfax first. But you will still have to attend a year in Fairfax. The tuition isn’t ridiculous, very comparable to other American universities. I get some assistance due to my dads military service. Also you can apply for the FAFSA. Also there is always a million scholarships if you just look up options on the internet.

Blasian Babyy for me I can attend Korea and then spend my last year in Fairfax and graduate there. If you look up GMU Korea online it will point you in the right direction for application, it is very simple and the fafsa is also online

I plan on going to korea next year for studying but im just wondering how does the wifi work there?? I heard stuff about SIM cards and maybe buying phones but it just confuses me so if you know anything about it could you tell me?
Of course! A popular option for students studying abroad is to purchase sim cards at the airport and then install them, however since I was only planning on staying a semester I decided I was going to rely on wifi lol. Fortunately my phone plan gave me unlimited data throughout korea so if you can work something with your carrier this is the best option!
There is wifi ALMOST everywhere, but I wouldn't rely on it. Getting a SIM or having unlimited data is the way to go!
Some of my friends didn't have unlimited data and didn't buy a sim card either, so it's manageable but not convenient.

The tap underneath is to fill up water in a bucket if you shower with a bucket and mug. This is a common way to shower in Asian countries.

Is the food like a standard college cafeteria
it's around $850 per semester! the food in the cafeteria was korean, but there was a hamburger/pizza option as well!
you usually go and buy a meal ticket and then get a standard set meal. it isn't like US college cafeterias in the sense that its not buffet and there aren't lots of options :( but it's really cheap to eat out at restaurants in the area!

Do you go to college in korea? I would love to go in kOreA or Japan but I would have to learn the language first and be accepted into a college my parents and I would be happy with haha
Did you transfer to GMUK? Or did you start there? I applied and was accepted into GMU, but I am very interested in studying abroad and Korea is definitely somewhere I'm interested in
I started at GMU and then did a study abroad program at GMUK! If I could redo it I’d probably just start at GMUK because it was cheaper than fairfax 🙃

Keep note this may not be in Korea but in some some places in Asia they fill up a tub and then use a smaller bucket and to wash them self cause I know not all countries in Asia use showers even if they do have showers hope that made sense-
I really hate my closet. Like when I say I use only 10% of my clothes I'm being serious. And my big sister has like as much clothing in her closet as my 10%. It's because when she gets tired of them she just keeps giving them to me like I don't want them, but because my mom is so pushy I end up thinking like ok, maybe I'll use them, but NO. So now my closet is basically full, so my mom keeps saying I don't need clothes and she doesn't even let me throw or give away any. Like what's the point? I'm not gonna wear them so why not give them away to people who actually want to use them. I've done small clean outs, but always end up giving away less than I was thinking because my mom says I can't just throw away that much clothing. I'm still waiting for the day when I actually use 90% of my clothes.
