I really adore on how you love challenges in life. that kind of experience will definitely help in making you stronger!
Graduating with no loans is such a huge plus, I cannot stress that enough.
Great video Michelle hearing about the cultural differences you experienced during your South Korea internship. We wish you all the best and keep up the good work! 👍
Quickly hit the like button because you're just amayyyyyzing. I value education over anything. You're so inspiring! Yonsei Uni is reaaally a good school. You must be very smart 😍
loved this michelle!!
i’m doing a bachelors degree at a full time ballet school (i’m pursuing becoming a dancer) so i definitely do not have the ‘typical’ university life.
i would love to visit korea for a while and try to learn the language but the reality seems quite daunting, especially since i’m british so i haven’t got any korean in me haha. but your videos do inspire me and i hope one day i pluck up the courage to go !!!
Love you Michelle! I love the good vibes your channel gives💕
omg loving the background!! your room renovation is literally amazingg
Thank you!! hehe still working on it but will def do one once it's done~ ❤️
Am i the only one who thinks that she kinda looks like naeun from apink?
Everyone has been spoken about this since she open this youtube channel..she also has try to do the makeup look on naeun..u must watch the earlier video uploads to know more about her
I think she looks like IU!
Same big eyes I guess? Haha
i also see a little bit of red velvet's yeri in her (maybe it's just me)
She looks like LOONA's Hyunjin too!
It's weird that you call yourself a foreigner in Korea even though you're Korean and fit the beauty standard perfectly hehehe
She is a foreigner tho she grew up with a completely different culture and language. It’s the concept about being a foreigner not about the race and it’s not just all about the “beauty standards”
June Jk I'm sorry if I said something that bothered you :/ thank you for the correction :)
Ikr, I thought the same thing too
im korean and have friends studying in yonsei after growing up in canada, and they sometimes feel like foreigners too just because they didn't grow up with the same korean culture (despite speaking fluent korean). so it was hard to get along with the local students sometimes! but they definitely had an advantage of being korean/speaking korean as compared to a foreign student from another ccountry.
Since I'm American, I'm considered a foreigner. It was really weird at first because on the school roster, there would be the word "foreigner" next to my name hahahaha😑
Yess! I needed this! Thank you❤️❤️
I always can’t wait for your videos! They’re so chill and relatable. Keep it up!
thank you!!😃❤️
I enjoyed watching this video about your experience as a full-time international student at a Korean University. For the exchange student part, I think it depends on the student itself. I did an exchange program at a Korean university for a semester three years ago. In my case, I was paired in a group project with all the full-time students including one international student. I guess I was unlucky because one of my group member didn't show up since day one and another student never showed up for group meetings. So, the remaining group members, including me, had to work twice the workload to successful complete our group project including the presentation. I also had to be super alert with my group chat because one of the group member at that time happened to be out of the country for a few days so we always had to connect through the group chat to make sure we complete what needed to be done. The class that I took was taught in English and the presentation had to be presented in English so it kind of put more weight on me and the group leader to contribute more on writing the report part. Nevertheless, we did successfully completed our presentation. I'm just sharing my experience as an exchange student who used to study for a semester. Hope it is helpful for other student viewers if not, please ignore my comment. :D
ohhhh yayy new video!!! hehe ily! ❤❤
Love your new room Michelle! You did a good job for sure. You're such a strong girl who can do everything and actually strives to achieve your dreams, which is so admirable! 😜 There are a few things about studying in Korea that i'm interested in knowing the real experience:
- What is the senior students (sunbae) - juniors culture really like in Korea? Are the sunbae usually nice or bullying to juniors (like in many Korean dramas)? Haha. Did you have any personal experience (good and bad)?
- Do Koreans really care a lot about their (and others') appearances? And do they favor pretty girls/boys over not so good looking ones? What are your thoughts on this matter?
Hope you will be able to make a part two of this video because it is very helpful in getting to understand the Korean culture as well as the reality of oversea student experience. Thank you Michelle! Have a wonderful day 😊❤️
Omg 🤣 I just asked for a video like this 😭 not knowing you would drop one on the same day 🔥🔥
HAHAH thank you for answering our questions from instagram :-)
love you michelle!!
0:58 As someone who just left university too, I felt that on a spiritual level 🎓
Thanks for all the helpful information!! I’m planning on attending school in Korea for summer term next year and Yonsei was a school I was considering because it is a sister school to my university. It sounds intimidating but I think, as you mentioned, being an exchange student would make it less stressful than it can be for other students. Once again thanks for sharing so much helpful information!
good luck! I'm glad you found it helpful😊
Before I even watch the vid I just wanna day thank u for making such good content! Keep it going!❤️
Today is the first day of school after summer break! Great timing!!!!!!! Love ur videos and u r so pretty as well!!

Would you maybe share your experience of applying and admission and maybe something about your high school scores and the exams that you took? Again thank you for all the things that you shared with us

This really motivated me considering your also taking business ad
would u ever do a video on study tips/motivation?? Or your advice for getting into a top school? You’re so bright 😖💕
You're skin looks great!!
please do a part 2 video :) how was the admission process? is yonsei strict in admissions?
Yyyyaaay new vid been waiting for this 💕😊. Still look gorgeous as ever michelle ❤. And thank you for sharing things about you 😊. Lots of love ❤💕💕💕💕
aww love u debbbbbb❤️
@@michellechoii ❤💕😍 myheart
I'm Brazilian girl🇧🇷,I love your videos 😊❤️
As an ex-exchange (UCEAP) student at Yonsei, we could choose whether we wanna do P/NP or grades. Although it is true that we could choose to travel and have fun while at Korea, I also had a lot of work to do. It really depends on the amount of credits that your parent university enforces on you.
i would lovee to see a daily go to make up tutorial mich :)
I love love you Michelle. 😭💗💗
That's crazy. I had the same exact experience as you except I want to your rival school KU. I also studied in a regular major instead of the international division which was a unique experience to say the least. omg 팀플 as a 교포 was the most stressful right? I got really good at Korean social politics though and later on it helped when I worked with Korean employees. I always felt sad when exchange student friends would move on and only keep in touch through FB or Kakao. It's like by graduation I had friends from all corners of the world linked by a vague Korean connection.Wasn't it weird when exchange students would be surprised to find out you were a regular student and at a regular major to boot? They were like why live life on hard mode. Also at KU professors would post exam scores with 학번 and not our names so I never felt that undue pressure. Man, I stumbled on your channel and it has me reminiscing all the way here in New York. Did you have a Korean name for 출첵? I feel like if we had a beer we would have so much to talk about.
hahaha I just graduated but reading your comment brought back so many old college memories😭 this is something only gyopos could relate to. it's def more stressful but very rewarding at the same time. And yes I used my Korean name!
hi!! im korean but i grew up outside of korea. i didnt even speak the language at home-- i hardly know it. my parents think it's best i study in KU as a regular student. im conflicted though, i mean, who wouldnt be? how was it for u? were u, like, already adept in korean and would u advise against going to KU given the language & culture gap? thanks a lot!!
I went to Ewha as a regular full-time student, and this was my experience, too. Especially the part about exchange students not really caring and not showing up to presentations. Because they're only there for a semester, so they just skip class, travel, and party. Unlike Yonsei and KU, Ewha didn't have a lot of American students, and it was a little harder to make connections. It was also tiring to make friends with exchange students, only to say goodbye after a semester. Then, I had to start over and do the whole make friends again, and they'd want to do touristy things again, which was tiring by the 3rd sem. Making friends with native Koreans was also so much harder since I have no Korean background at all. I miss my time at Ewha, but it was also really rough socially.
Hi Did going to KU make job searches easier?
@@twentysevenand hello I'm from India! I actually wanted to ask you regarding ewha University as I'm going to take admission can you please help?like if I want to take admission as a transfer student when should I apply?
Gonna due a year abroad at yonsei next year. Really excited already 😊🌸
I'm glad of your success, I happen to find your channel, you mentioned in the video that your parent's where disapproving your youtube vision which you manifested to be one of your goals, now look where your at and where your going.
yayyyyy new video! love from brazil
Omg it is my dream to study as an international student in central Seoul. I can imagine how frustrating it is to deal with exchange students in projects. You have very big eyes 👀
Thank you so much for this video! 💞 I really didn’t know who to ask these questions to and you completely answer them all but I have a question, "For a Full Time Student in Korea, what is the GPA requirement ?” & "Did you apply for scholarships while attending the University " . I’m a Health major: HLC & premed student at my school.
Hi! I really wanna know about the admission like, how do you get into yonsei university?
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO SO SO BAD! i was looking to apply to international schools and i’m from socal so thank you so much! i know yonsei is SO CRAZY COMPETITIVE but what were your high school achievements that allowed you to get accepted to yonsei? and how was the application process? please reply fast i need to know asap!
Omg tuition is so cheap we pay 10k a year as domestic fees in Canada lol international students pay 3x as much (annually UGH)
로로 RORO i pay $8000 every semester i’m international student in United state
@@kadoohaji4575 $8k???getting any scholarship?
Kadoo Haji - 8k 😳 I’m not even an international student and I pay £9k which is wayyy more in dollars
We pay 40,000 for 2 subjects ooooof
Is it per semester or annually?
Okay I’m shooookkk YOU WENT TO YONSEI UNI like damnnnnn one of the SKY universities, I’m so jealous and I admire how smart and hardworking you are because that is a very prestigious school
Dachihaya I think it’s easier to go there if you’re a foreign exchange student. Sometimes universities have partnerships with universities around the world so you can probably apply with your school
Please do a room tour of your two rooms once you're done redoing them. Or whichever one is done, please do a room tour.
this was really informative!
못갖춘게 뭐야 도대체.. 완벽한 언니..
I didn't know making friends in Korea would be hard when entering semester late. Well, at least you have international friends!
Im a lone wolf in uni..students there already grouped bcoz they are friends even before getting in university so its kinda hard to have friend..and yeah i really agree about pressure of surrounded by intelligent people..im really stress like im really anxious on facing daily class..im trying hard to actually fit in but i feel so lost and empty..but right now i think its getting better since i realise i should be myself instead, love myself and just surround myself with people who truly loves me..so yeah instead i just do somethgs that makes me happy💜
Thank you michelle..this is a good sharing from you❤
Awww it's sokay buddy. Even in Malaysia . I'm alone too rofl
It's so so helpful thank you ❤️❤️❤️🙏
Can you do a video on the admission process?
I love the song u have been playing in ur vlogs. If this is ur theme song. It suits u😊😊😊😊
Thankkk you so mucch!❤️
Yyesss i miss your vlogss 😍😍
I KNEW IT YOURE SMART!OMG
Thank you for this informative video. 😊
Such a informative video.... It helped me alot... I got to know some important things.... Thanks for this video.... 사랑해요
Hey. I'm just entertaining high school and I'm studying Korean now. That gives me 4 years to study the language. Would I be at a level to take classes in Korean or should I still study with the international program?
hi!! i was wondering if you had any advice or have any i should know if i want to transfer to a korean college, if i’m already going to community college?
i have the same question
kailin c. Were you able to find out an answer for your question??
Isabella Pablo sameee 😫
1. Have good Korean skills
what was the admission process.. was it hard?? Thanks for this video!!! its so helpful to me!
Would love if you could do a video on interview tips!
wondering, why did you decide to go to korea to study and not stay in the us?
When you did tutoring, did you apply through the school to work IN korea or did you just do it under the table / cash?
I am planning to go to Korea as exchange student too thank you goddess 🖤
People who travel are usually easy going and easy to get along with...they have standards but not necessarily fix expectations.
hi michelle! im from california not sure you'll see this but im 90% considering studying abroad as a part of YISS aka your uni's international institute in the summer. I would be in South Korea for 3 months, but I'm debating if I should extend it to December. I think it would be a good fit bc 1. Korea seems pretty extroverted and I love going out (literally i want to go to Hongdae so bad bc i love nightlife lol) 2. I'm American and Mexican so I want a completely different experience from the "west" bc i have no ties to the "east" or korea ofc. I guess what holds me back is i'll be in Yonsei for summer+fall??? idk haha love ur channel btw! :)
First!! 💗❤️
I just discovered your channel incidentally and it makes me really interested. In the meantime, I haven't had the chance to think about Korean-foreigner. I'm too curious to watch your Q&A video which you said about your ethnicity as well. You said your ethnicity is Korean, but after I watched some your videos I think you can't speak Korean well, can you? Most of my life I have lived in Korea, except for last year. When I used to live in Scotland from UK, I realized background is really important to understand each other even though they look similar. I'd like to understand your values, idea, thinking through your channel. Thanks for giving me the chance to understand about Korean-American. Thanks again!
michelle i am waiting for your house/room tour!!!!!! love from india!!!
5:35 ommmmffg i cant believe she typed out lecture word for word
kinda random but zoom has that great function where like it has a script on the side
i totally understand what you mean about your parents pressuring you with office jobs. same for me.
Unni!! Ur grad pic looks so pretty!! Can u film a makeup tutorial for ur grad look?
I did my everyday makeup but with more time and precision hahaha. I plan on doing a video on that soon😊
hi, the video was so very insightful, you had mentioned that u didn't take the UIC program , I wanna major in marketing and other business related majors and was wondering if they are taught in English as a full time regular student or in Korean.(without the UIC program) or does the UIC program have these majors in English differently.i hope this question makes sense, thank you
Do one about long distance relationships!!
와진짜 이쁘세요!! 공부도 녹음까지하시면서...
As an international student, did you had to submit your assignments or give your exams in English or Korean?
Bloom Lee most profs are good at english so if you ask for it to him/her personally, they will accept
Is it difficult to get into Yonsei University for your major as a foreigner?
Why eveything looks so cool there 😦🔥
I don't even know where to start on how to study in Korea. Should I save first and how much should I save
I’m an international student studying in the state right now, watching this video somehow feels encouraging for me (especially when I panicking about the starting semester lol). 💕love your videos so much.
omg good luck with the new semester! ❤️❤️
I love you and I love your videos you are very beatiful and swet . From Turkey😍😍
Do you have any tips on finding a good plastic surgeon in Korea? For foreigners who don't really know how to research?
now I’m kinda excited to go to college lol
I'm rewatching your videos rn. How come you look the same all the way through ✨
I do apologies if you've already been asked this question. But when renting out an apartment as a full time student what kind of money amount or guarantor did you need when applying for the apartment.
i was thinking of getting an office cell or apartment.
omg when you said that everyone can see your test scores.. i would die
LMAO SAME
Hi Michelle! I agree with every word you said. As a second year student in yonsei school of business, I really wish somebody like you made a video and told me how hard it was going to be... Making friends with native koreans is extremely hard, not all the classes are available in English and foreigners are in my opinion a bit left aside by the administration... Thank you for saying exactly what I thought haha! Great video, love you💜 btw, what business class were you in?
Would you say that making friends is hard maybe bc they think you don't speak much korean?
Seriously. I went through the same thing... I feel ya
