Hi Katrina! The tape you see here has no bearing on the clinical scenario and was used solely to hold the catheter in place during the dressing change. We have developed better means to do this so future videos will not show the tape.
Replacing the stat lock or securement device on a PICC is very difficult because u have to lift the line and risk pulling it. I’ve found anchoring the lumens at the bottom helps during dressing changes. When I saw your tape I thought it was something new with the kit to help anchor the line during securement device placement 😂
