  • Video shows simulation of air compression with oil injection in the chamber of a 4/5 rotary screw compressor. The face area of discharge port is visible and velocity vectors shows the highly transient nature of gas-oil flow entering the discharge through the rotors. Oil volume fraction is plotted from 0 to 25% range in a cross section. A small concentration is also seen on the suction side has has been practically observed during measurements. Dynamics of the Interaction of injected oil and the rotor lobes in the chamber are well illustrated by this CFD model. Details of these interactions are important for optimum oil injection design.

    THANK YOU. Everyone explains "the chamber gets smaller so it compresses it" and I'm like HOW? They are the same size the whole way down. Now it makes total sense.

    I have seeing the commenters, your video is really excellent, special for training of mechanic that service this type of equipment. I consider the video should explain the position the observer is look-in at the Aired; Rotation From upper part Intake Port, or from the bottom of the Aired at the Discharge Port; as I think is what I am looking at.

      I doubt you will get that type of information because it would be of great proprietary value to the company who produces the equiptment.

      Though I appreciate your efforts but still pressure should always build at the lower end where the outlet pipe is connected. People new to the concept may fall prey to the confusion.

    • @shamrr
      @shamrr  6 лет назад +2

      CFD model is upside down, suction is from bottom, so you got confused. Watch again.

      @@mohitgujar9603 Sometime we have to pay attention to details and appreciate the effort of Sham of presenting how the CFD works. Simple be grateful or next time you should prepare your own simulation so you can show us how is done.
