Guys - this production is AMAZING. The Broadway staging has changed slightly from this rehearsal footage, but the intensity and electric chemistry from this video is still incredibly compelling.
The blocking for the ensemble has changed - they move with the moving musicians platforms. Also, At the top of the number their positioning is switched, and some of the crosses were removed. But the ending, from their embrace through the kiss on the table remained the same.
I'm a bit disappointed that the show changed the choreography so much. This one had some really cute moments, like when they each grab the wrong item and when the doctor is grabbing Jenna's breast and she yanks his hand away, but changes her mind and pulls his hand toward her crotch. I do really like that they added a bit later where he yanks off his uniform. It's hilarious. But I always come back here to watch these cuties reaching for their items, grabbing the wrong ones, and then literally throwing them aside.
The wrong item choreography is soo good! And them jumping on the table at the same time after I Need A Bad Idea is also missing in the final choreo! I think Jenna jumps first and the Doctor joins later. But the doctor struggling with his coat is really good too. I still prefer this choreo more.

Honestly though watching the band being pushed across in the background was the best part of this. Lost my shit. These two are so good together, I hope they bring it to Australia.
Jessie Mueller and Drew Gehling were my favourite Jenna and Dr Pomater. They’re both such amazing singers and actors, and their voices sound so beautiful together. They also bring humour and real character into this song, I find. So sad that I’ll never be able to see them perform this live 😭😭😭
waitress has some of the best choreographed in the numbers in Broadway. the attention to detail is insane considering how complex the steps are plus with props.
I will forever be heartbroken that I never got to see the original cast but I pray to God I will make it to see at least a tour of this show my goodness.
What's stopping you from seeing it? If you are a true theatre lover you would see it no matter what. Also, why are you making it seem like it's only a limited production?
