Standing on the range doing weird swings and random shots is a great way to warm up for me. Really feel like i loosen my swing up and get a feel for how i’m hitting the ball way better than just trying to put “textbook” swings on the ball shot after shot.
At the speed he's swinging, all that stuff "after" can't be just added in for flavor. It's part of the swing. Go out to the range and try it with your "normal" swing at full speed while adding in weird movements.. you'll hit the ball all over the place. Just like Matthew wolf, it's part of the entire swing to get it where it needs to be at impact.. watch PGA pros try Matthew wolfs swing, they can't do it well.
If I was his caddie and saw that series of warm up shots I would immediately start looking for a new loop. Doesn’t exactly exude confidence to be on the range practicing that stuff.
@@danmyers9372 idk man. PGA tour players probably just want to have the shot in their bag regardless. Rather be able to shoot that shot and not need it.
And why does his swing work? Pause it on the downswing when the club is parallel to the ground, and he’ll look like any other high end tour caliber player. The things he does afterwards is just icing; it’s the willing of the ball in to the shape he wants. The art form takes over for this guy in his head and he seems like a savant of sorts who just lets the image of the shot envelop him and take over. Very interesting to see someone with this approach do so well.
@@ynkybomber hey you're the one not spelling stuff right, I thank him for his service. I'm tired of reading grammatical nightmares, it's the collapse of the west as we know it lol jk but not really
When you’re trying to maintain perfect form at your local muni, feeling like you’re doing it all right and still shanking it - Just remember, this man is a Pro golfer with that swing. Maybe we all shouldn’t try to be so technical?
He's still very technical and it's different if you swing a club daily compared to amateurs who might play once a week. So I imagine it would do the vast majority of ppl a lot of good to be more technical if the plan is to score scratch or better without playing 4 times a week.
He is very good through his backswing and impact. I think most amateurs should stop trying their swing to LOOK perfect, but should keep trying to get IMPACT perfect
Tiger shot shapes the same way bring his arms around like that some times, especially tight hooking shots, the ability to be creative and free of inhibitions to try things was huge for Tiger, and this guy definitely has that, can’t wait to watch this guy on tour!
i kind of get what hes doing at the range or at least how i interpret it. it gives him a loose feel of how the ball interacts in different ways just to get that robotic practice mode out of the way. too many times the range is used for perfection but i think it should also be used to feel.
Hmmm looks like his way of swinging relieves the left knee from twisting as hard as a normal drive would. Time will tell if he has more or less injuries than the average pro.
Golf has been around for centuries, based on etiquette, respect and tradition, this git seems to show utter contempt for all of these time held values, what message does he think he is sending out to the youngsters coming into the came?
Arnie used a helicopter like finish on his swing just like this guy does. It's so they don't hit the ball left which is what every right handed golfer dreads. His swing coming into the ball is damn good though. It looks like he just has an issue with clearing his left side. As long as you're good coming down into the ball and through the impact area it really doesn't matter what your finish looks like. Sheffler is a perfect example as he dances with his feet all over the place differently on almost every swing.
That walk in was savage
He Kevin Na's the Kevin Na
The look on the caddies face hahaha "ooh that's cold"

Instant fan. This guy is going to be 🔥🔥 to watch on tour
why is it koreans and chinese that have weird ahh swings lol
His swing is actually very good through impact. All that crazy stuff he does is after the ball is gone.
He's an entertainer. Can't wait to watch him on Tour this year.
Yes , obviously on purpose to gain attention n fame ....
Ya it’s pretty normal in slow mo. I’m guess he had trouble with hooks at some point and all that weird stuff came about to keep the face open

This dude is going to fun to watch. What makes the game beautiful and fun. So many ways to get it done.
Need more characters like this in golf. 👍👍👍
Amazing flop shot and walking in that putt from about 10 feet, class!
Love it!! I guess his follow through is a reflection of his attitude. Seems like a cool dude!!
Walk in was next level! ⛳️
Hugely refreshing, and Carl Yuan is now a guy I will be rooting for every week.
Ready to see this guy on tour
With Matthew Wolff’s pre-shot routine and Carl Yuan’s after-shot follow through you would have one funky amalgam!
Super nice swing thru impact. Very powerful
This man is just having fun. This I like :)
I love all his swings
Dude is a videogame golfer and I'm 1000% here for it
ya gotta FEEL the follow-thru
I do a lot of this, found my new favorite golfer
Love it! Instant fan
Might be my new favorite player
love his style
This guy is the new Bubba Watson. Plays his own style of golf and breaks the mould.
I love it!!
He is as water, shapeless and awesome
That flop shot was insane
Nothing but love for Carl in the comments!
How refreshing.
I feel like I'd hurt myself if I swung like this dude. Props to him for making something unique work though!

That chip at the start reminds me of the 80yr olds i've played with 😂 fair play to the lad
Practicing those awkward lies where you have to manufacture a shot is smart. We all get them, so it makes sense to do this.
The best thing about golf is that everyone has to find their own personal swing. Your Authentic Swing.

This is just an insane man who happens to play golf!
Bruh this is the stuff I like to do at the range. Different shots all the time lol, same with putting. Slice and hooking putts is fun
He doesn't unwind, it's probably more like a stepping out of the swing type of move, a bit like Bryson. Looks like a lot of fun.

When this guy and Tyrell Hatten get paired together I'm getting extra popcorn.
The man with a 1000 swings
Internet sensation Ho-sung Choi entertained crowds with is unique swing
