    The idea of just spending a day on a sketchbook, nothing else, sounds SO fun, I immediately imagined my perfect weekend day just like that...! I love the little drawing of the character (you?) lying down at around 13:40 and again at 30:40 haha, and loved the Sailor Moon and Kim Jung-Gi mentions, too. It was really interesting to see your drawings evolve throughout the day.

    My dad was a fine artist and he used to ‘sneak up on’ his paintings to catch them unaware. So he could try to see them with someone else’s eyes or for the first time. Often I draw something and think it’s bad then look at it a while later and it looks much better than I imagined.
    Inspiring video I want to do a whole day of sketching too. Far too often it’s just a last minute thing or doesn’t happen at all.

    Found this video, watched the first 2 hour/ rest sessions, and then decided that this is what I'd do with the rest of my day!!! Started at 8pm and finished at 4 am (it's Ramadan and I'm fasting which is why I'm doing this dead in the night ) I was on the last spread of a sketchbook so I managed to finish that, and get about 70% through a digital painting WIP that I had started in like ??? January??? But never worked on it past the sketch. Overall this felt very rewarding but difficult!! I seem to have struggled more 🫣 but that adds up since I also didn't really plan before starting this. Thanks sm for the idea!! I ended up rewarding myself for finishing with watching the rest of this video ✨

    I'm not even half into the video and I wanna tell you that this idea is amazing, specially for people that are trying to recover space and time for their art ;; I've been dealing with an art block for years but just acknowledged it for what it is less than a year ago (': It's been an slowly and harsh learning process and i've finally been able to draw some stuff in my sketchbook and it feels so weird and incredible. Gotta give this a try and already separated the day i'll be doing this! ;; The 30 min doing nothing is specially perfect for me so it doesn't feel like a big big challenge knowing i can rest!
    Also, the working 8 hrs doing stuff that u really don't wanna do spoke to my soul lol. Thank you so much for the idea and I'll continue listening to the insights on your sketching (': (loving everything).

    Hi, this is my first time watching your video. I was just looking for something inspirational to accompany my drawing time, and that's when I came across your channel. I was listening to what you were saying about being ashamed of drawing in an anime style, which is exactly how I've been feeling lately. I just finished my BFA final year, and everyone has been telling me that my art style is too inspired by anime. It's not entirely based on it, but the influence is definitely there. I've been feeling stuck and kind of depressed, thinking that four years have passed and now they're saying I should do something else, something more original. It made me feel like my art wasn't 'arting,' if that makes sense. But hearing about your experiences, and knowing that you went through similar things with your teachers, really touched me. It made me feel like it's okay to feel this way about my own art. Thank you for sharing your story.

    • @leechuts
      @leechuts  5 месяцев назад +2

      ❤️❤️❤️ don’t listen to them - your art is an extension of you as a person and if you are inspired by anime it wouldn’t be right to try to stop your art from showing that. Like i said in the video anime is so much more than what the mainstream perceives it as, (while I do agree a lot of it is a rinse and repeat cash grab lol like any genre of “art”) so much if it can only be described as “true art” and all past the shame I’ve felt growing up loving anime, I’m now super grateful that that’s what has influenced me and still does to this day. Try to be kind to yourself and listen to what you feel is right, not what other people tell you🙏

    This is honestly such an amazing excercise! I am not an artist but a musician/conservatory student! Now that summertime has rolled around and I don't have classes to keep me accountable I have really been struggling to create some sort of practice structure for myself. It is so inspiring to see someone so down to earth just creating for their own experimentation. I definitely needed the reminder that the best inspiration/motivation comes from just doing the thing you want to be doing! And that staying locked in doesn't have to be this super serious all-consuming daunting beast LOL. Thank you for putting this out into the world!! :^)

    I'm 100% gonna steal this challenge as well, seems like a lot of fun to do. Also adding those simple shapes as a background looks very pleasant so i'm stealing that as well.

      its a smudge guard! or a tablet two finger glove - if you search on google theres lots of different ones, it’s to prevent smudging graphite on paper or drag against your skin against a tablet screen
