This is why Spidey/Peter is my favourite hero because unlike other heroes he’s not loaded with money or riches or anything like that he was given powers and a responsibility to protect those that can’t protect themselves even if not all of them appreciate it, he’s been called a menace and many other horrible things but he ignores that because he’s doing the right thing. Uncle Ben would be so proud of him. He’s very humble and a down to earth hero that’s why heroes like Wolverine, Captain America and other heroes respect him.
And he can try to quit and throw away the costume, but no matter what, he can't run away from his responsibility and duty. Doing so would go against everything he stands for. It won't magically make his enemies give up on crime. They're not doing wrong just to fight him, they're doing wrong for vengeance, greed, dominion and fun. Nor would they take pity on him. If he quits, then he's letting Uncle Ben down. Letting MJ down. Letting Aunt May down. Letting everyone down. A true hero doesn't stand by and let anyone suffer or die by doing nothing. People like JJJ can blow it out their asses. Being a superhero may not be as luxurious as people think. It's a big responsibility and you might not get much appreciation, but sometimes, it's worth it. Even paramedics, cops, soldiers and firefighters struggle with it every day. Besides, when Spidey first got his powers, he didn't use them responsibly and look where that got him. Thus, he mustn't ignore any problem even if it's not his. Peter never asked to be a superhero. He got his powers by accident. But sometimes accidents like that are just the way the universe expresses itself. Plus, the circumstances of how he got his powers are irrelevant. What matters is what he chooses to do with them.
I genuinely thought they would’ve ended up together, since the writers keep doing him and MJ dirty, they would’ve made a good couple. I’m glad Peter and Cindy still get along as friends and just want them to be happy even with other people.
So long as you rely on the current editorial and Zeb Wells to provide that for you, I can guarantee you it'll never happen Me personally, If not for the Kindred Saga (which I've been coming around to at least intent wise) would have had Harry stay the American Son/The Patrioteer and have Cindy end up with him

She's likely going to appear in the next Marvel's Spider-Man game since her father is dating Miles' mother. She'll be a part of the family one way or another.

I’m guessing they broke up because it was mostly physical like friends with benefits in a sense. The web suit was a makeshift attire instead of swinging in her underwear, it didn’t last long since she got her official suit soon after. Almost every character has great attractive bodies with skin tight outfits, some show a bit more skin than her. Cindy is a drop in a ocean by comparison.
One cool detail about this moment: Cindy and Peter can't be around each other because of their pheromones, and since the start of this comic she is trying to keep her distance. This is the only scene were she allows herself to be this close to Peter and touch him like that. Not a huge thing, but pretty heartwarming.
Spidey understands where a lot of them are coming from, and he knows they didn't have an "Uncle Ben" to keep them from crossing the line. He acknowledges that he's not that far off from them. A lot of villains respect that from him since they've already been "judged and juried" in general.

Because while it may be true spiders have pheromones to attract one another, Cindy and Peter are still human/people.
