I honestly love the concept of a hero having enough of everything's shit and snaps, and the villain is basically forced to replace the hero so the world doesn't burn.
What I really like about Spiderman is that he’s often the last one to “snap” and only breaks after the world has broken. In Marvel Zombies he’s one of the last infected who gives into their temptations and he’s the first zombie (excluding Wasp) who realized that they didn’t need to eat people anymore. In Punisher Kills the MCU, Spiderman snaps and becomes a cannibal but again he still has his sense of humanity in the future and was willing to set aside his hunger for peace. And in one comic where he’s stuck in a nightmare world, he only snaps when the world is completely and utterly broken, turning Mr. Fantastic into a web fluid and symbiote hybrid to keep what’s left of New York together. In every instance Spiderman broke because the world was already so broken, that’s what it takes for him to become evil. All Tony needs is power and he becomes a mad god, all the Hulk needs is a really bad day to destroy the world, and all Frank needs is just a guy to piss him off. Every other hero just needs a gentle nudge to become evil while Spiderman needs the world to break for him to become a monster.

I've actually been interested in the idea of a superhero story where the hero just straight up quits and deserts their people because they never appreciated the things they did for them. A story where a hero decides to walk away from their responsibilities in the face of ingratitude and betrayal could be both refreshing and thought-provoking imo.

Two comic series sorta did that. The first series, Irredeemable (a Superman knock-off who snaps and becomes Irredeemable), started. Then a spin-off series, Incorruptible, began a bit later (the archenemy of the hero is jarred by the change in his rival and becomes a hero himself). The series was well-written, but it was more violent than I prefer (I generally prefer silver age campiness), so I only read a bit of them.
honestly it'd be neat to have a game with this kind of vibe. Spider-man's done with how the city views him so he just caves in & starts doing what his enemies would. Leaving them horrified at what's happening, you play as 1 of said enemies & try to beat Spider-man.

Considering what Spider-Man has been going through in the comics, at this point I wouldn't blame him. Seriously, Peter Parker has been through the ringer, just because Marvel writers are a bunch of bullies who believe a suffering Spider-Man sells more. I just want to see Peter actually be happy for once. However, since the Marvel writers are incapable of that, this scene is becoming more and more inevitable to me, you know what I mean?
I've actually been interested in the idea of a superhero story where the hero just straight up quits and deserts their people because they never appreciated the things they did for them.
A story where a hero decides to walk away from their responsibilities in the face of ingratitude and betrayal could be both refreshing and thought-provoking imo.

I actually want see a universe where this happens. Where Spider-Man does SNAP and Goblin seeing him do even crazier stuff is what brings him back to his senses and forces him to be a hero.
Two comic series sorta did that. The first series, Irredeemable (a Superman knock-off who snaps and becomes Irredeemable), started. Then a spin-off series, Incorruptible, began a bit later (the archenemy of the hero is jarred by the change in his rival and becomes a hero himself). The series was well-written, but it was more violent than I prefer (I generally prefer silver age campiness), so I only read a bit of them.

As when a seemly battle has lead spiderman to just break because of how much he knows no matter what he will never be appreciated for what he was, the daily bugle will never stop freaking harassing him,people will hate him no matter how much he tries to help, and how much he'll never be appreciated because of how ungrateful the city is to him, so he just finally snaps and instead decides to see how the city will come the realize how much they really needed him as a hero and how much worse he is as a villain,and so it's up sinister 6 to stop spiderman from destroying the city and so with each member you have to fix a certain part of the city like electro helps keeps the city's energy supply stable with the shocker and Mysterio,kraven, rhino and scorpion help keep spiderman from breaking inmates from prison out so the police don't get overwhelmed,Dr.octopus, green Goblin and Sandman are trying to convince why spiderman shouldn't do this,or even something else
I seriously wasn’t expecting that!!! Maybe now J Jonah Jameson will think Spider-Man is actually the Good Guy now?
