- Welcome to what is - unbelievably episode 10 of this series with this very special Toyota GR Yaris Circuit pack presently for sale with www.hothatches.co.uk
I will - at the outset admit a complete biased towards these cars having spent 3 weeks with one only earlier this year courtesy of Paul and his ridiculous car collection (playlist on the channel).
Can the hype really all be true - what would you go for instead? - Авто/Мото
4ur info. The seat height is set higher in a rally car so as to the driver greater visibility and awareness of the road ahead!
People complaining of the seat height obviously don't know this.
Drove the car last wk and the seat height was perfect and I'm 6ft tall thanks.
The only problem comes on track where you need to use a helmet, at above average height you can't really fit wearing a helmet
Noted chap - thank you
Visibility isn’t great mind when you pull the sun visor down for sitting so high - having used one with a lower seat I have to say I much prefer it personally 👌
Just fit a seat lowering kit, drops the seats by 35mm
@Andy ideally change the seats too, the stock seats are not massively supportive
@@Andy-2022great mod but you lose the adjustment
@37 seconds, black and white cat in the background, thinking "nah, I'll take the M2 Competition." Congrats on the milestone CMD
Nearly made something of him in the editing phase 😂 didn’t want him taking the line light 😛
Just got one today amazing little car love it 😊
Good choice! Agreed - enjoy ☺️
Great video and I have test driven a few (in love). As I watched this, I realised that on the other tab there is AUTOTRADER with the listing for this very car!
Yeah can see why chap
Cracking motor
I tested one and filmed three videos with it earlier this year that might be worth a look too 👀
Just some camber bolts, anti lift bushes and torque mount (I bet all OEM are broken) and you won't believe how much more can you get from GRY. I just hit 10000km the other day, love it!
Sounds like quite the recipe chappy
What do these parts improve? Just done 12000km in mine and I’m thinking of adding some mods.
@@yetidh9 With camber bolts you can adjust camber to your liking. It improves corner grip. Stock bolts do not offer any adjustment. Whiteline anti lift bushes can give more caster and more importantly remove GRY tendency to understeer while hard acceleration (car doesn't lift front end that much and tyres grip better for turn-in). OEM torque mount rubber is weak and I'm quite sure, broken on all GRYs. You can feel it as jerky gear changes or IMT downshifts.
@markos8400 cool, thanks for the info. I’ll look into those 👍
@@CarMadDad Prefer to keep mine totally stock (boring old man, I know!). Love it though.
Great channel, subscribed
cheers chappy 👍👍
Awwwk mate heads fubar, can get either this or a M2 comp, you have had both so what would ya go for?
That’s a real difficult one chap and something I’m asked rather often (bizarrely)!
I think it depends on what are you are looking for in the car.
Track weapon and hard use - the M2 all day long. B road blasts and no track work I’d have more fun in the Yaris
@@CarMadDad Thanks mate, it would be the GR then, but the M2 is the sexiest car ever lol, so sleek. The only other one I was mulling over was a clubsport-s Mk7 as I only see values going up, and up. Thanks again buddy, have til the summer to sort my head out lol
Go and drive them all chap - you’ll soon know which one is for you 👌
you turned it into RWD car with pressing the sport button 🙂 it doesn't sharpen anything up. normal mode 70% to the front, Track 50/50, Sport 70% to the rear wheels
Incorrect - Normal 60/40, Track 50/50, Sport 30/70
Turn of phrase chap - apologies
Great review 👏
Thank you! Trying my bestest 😂
Do the Lotus too!
Filmed ☑️
Just need to do the edit ✍️ 👍
How does it compare to the 1m? Different car types for sure but both seem very special in their own right
Hello 👋
Interestingly I filmed a GR Yaris and then 1m back to back earlier this year…
Almost unfair to compare them - not brilliant in their own right.
I would say a lot depends on preference - but there really are no losers there!
@@CarMadDad I saw the 1m video but not the gr one which I'll watch shortly. I bought a 1m last month and the hype is real! Personally in the last year the GR and 1m were the only cars I drove that felt truly special in their own right, I just had to have one of either, but the 1m is the one I ended up getting.
To add, your expressions, thoughts etc of the 1m mirrored my own when I first drove one.
Thanks for the videos, underrated channel!
@@drock852 I think you have made a great choice chap - really love those things!
@@drock852 v kind of you chappy x
In your opinion for a second/fun/weekend car would you have the Yaris GR or a 997 for the same money?
Oh wow chap - there’s a nice dilemma
Let me start with - both are great.
If you are looking at a manual 997 4S and are happy to spend / maintain as one should to keep it tip top - this would probably feel more “special” for the odd weekend blast.
If however you want to use / abuse and park up and forget it until the next week without being to precious - it’s the Yaris all the way 👌
@@CarMadDad thank you! My plan in a few years time is that, I think the 997 (C2 man) will feel special for longer, but the Yaris would be a fabulous daily! In the future are you planning to film any 80/90/00's Icons or considering doing a best "car type" for £20k. (Like a lot of us do on Autotrader with an imaginary budget!) You could scroll through some online then go and drive one.
No plans of that sort of present chap until you just mentioned it 😂
Leave that one with me!
Have a 997 C4S I can use amongst a few alternatives!!!
Appreciate the support x
GR all day any day
I’d have the Yaris if just one, it’s replaced a 991.2 GTS rwd and loving it I also like that it’s a bit of a sleeper to non car people
