I am so glad I came across your video. My Mother in law just gifted me her Janome. I’ve always wanted to learn how to use it but really didn’t know where to start and this has been very helpful.
Thank you. I've had a Janome 2003p (very old) for years but have mostly given up sewing. My granddaughter now wants to learn so I really needed this refresher course. I'm all set to show her now.
I only just bought a Janome sewing machine yesterday. I was looking for instructions on RUclips and you were my first choice. I also subscribed to your channel, thank you very much for your video.
Thank you so much! Just moved back to the UK and bought a second-hand Janome. Never used this brand and it had been a while since I had used my old American one so this was much needed. ☺️
Thank you so much for this, it really helped me out with my machine. I had no idea what I was doing when my dad gifted me the sewing machine and now I’m sewing thanks to you!! ♥️
This was very good. Got the new machine, bobbin came off as I was trying to clean and oil after 3 months. Then he'll broke loose. Tried to get tutorials on my model but was not able . Finally found this one and it helped tremendously. Thank you. Now I can continue my sewing. Learnt alot on the different stitches. Etc.
My mums had one for over 2 years but she didn’t know how to use it. I’m doing textiles at school so I’m finally able to help! But I just didn’t how to sew with the thread in 😅
Mum bought me my Jenome for my 18th birthday. I’m 35 now and haven’t used it for about 10 years. Your tutorial reminded me everything I once knew. Thanks so much, it was so straight forward and clear.
Fantastic 💖! I wish you can also make real stitch sampler for us beginners explaining what each stitch does and for what particular task it can be used 🙏. Thanks for making this video. Helped me tremendously with correct insertion of bobbin and with pulling lower thread up !!!
Excellent video, Thank you so much. This got us off to a great start. Your pace and explanation was just right. We picked the machine up at a garage sale today, and thanks to you my daughter is already sewing.
Thank you, great video! I've just bought a Janome 3300, arriving tomorrow, can't wait!!! Used to straight-stitching vintage machines, but needed zig zag stitch!!! Your video really helped, thank you 🧵🙂
Thank you so much. I’m a beginner to sewing and the machine. This tutorial was on point and I could follow along. I really enjoy this tutorial. Relaxing and I learned something. A win win!!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just started doing in person sewing lessons but the machine they have it’s all digital. I would never be able to do it without your tutorial. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@SoozInTheShed Question for you. Why does my thread keep coming out of the needle? Am I doing something wrong? Also, how do you know if your machine has an automatic threader? And how does that work? Sorry to bother. I don't really know anyone else who sews and I haven't done it forever.

I recently bought a used Janome L-352 Sewing Machine. Can i use this video instructions to thread my machine or is your model not the same instructions? If not do you have a link for my model instructions? Thanks
Thank you for this video. I have the janome 2050, it looks like yours but with no flower detailing on the machine. I managed to lose my manual and could not figure out how to get the stitches in red, or what the red part on the dial was for. Now I know. I am trying to figure out what the best way to do zig zag stitch to finish of seams. I have just started to sew my first garment and I cannot seem to get a good zig zag stitch going over the edge. It seems to be pulling the fabric and folding it over slightly, which I suppose is not a terrible thing as it will stop it from fraying but it does not look like the stitches I see on other videos. However, if I try to do a zig zag stitch on the fabric the same slight folding occurs. Other videos seem to feature digital machines and they have better control of the height and width of the zig zag. T x
A lot of machinists use a different machine for those zig zagged edge, it’s called an over locker. I wonder if this is what you have been seeing. But for a zigzag to stop fraying I usually set the stitch to the widest, and the length to the shortest. Try the closest to C on one dial and between 1-2 on the second dial. Try on scrap before committing.
@@SoozInTheShed nope it is not an overlocker Ive been watching them use. It is an electronic sewing machine, with the ability to change both the height and the width of the zig zag stitch. Thanks for repsonding though, I appreciate that. I have tried every variation of the dials on scrap fabric, including different tensions lol but I will do your suggestion again and be done with it lol I guess It is all trial and error really at the end of the day and I am sure I will learn more as I do more. I suspect my zig zag stitches are probably meant to look like they do for my machine. T x
@@TartantazCreates Yes, some machines just have a basic allowance of width and length. The more you pad for a machine the more capabilities it has. If you’re just wanting to stop a fray just go over it a few times.
Awesome. Thank you. I just bought my first sewing machine a Janome 2112. And you really helped a lot. My first project is to make a quilt. And my instructions say to sew a 1/4” seam. But I don’t see that on my machine. It’s all in 8ths on the plate. Help!! Thank you!
If you like following the marks on your plate, I would suggest measuring from your needle and putting a strip of masking tape down the plate for easier viewing. I do this as I like my needle in the centre, and some machines have them off centre. Makes life a little easier :)
Fantastic . What a good teacher . I had to take the bit round the bobbin apart to untangle some threads and now can't get it back together again . Can you help ?

Ahh, thats dead easy. Hold the needle in your left hand and turn the little screw on the side of the needle with either your right hand, or a 5p piece if you dont have the little screwdriver. To add a new needle you will see they have a flat side and a domed side.... flat to the back. Insert it as high as you can and tighten the screw back up.
