I honestly would've thought Barry Pepper's character's snipe would've been the one represented for "Saving Private Ryan." Even more so since that was based on an actual kill by a WWII soldier (if I recall).

My favorite sniper scene ever
The whole "Tower Sniper" scene, in Saving Private Ryan, always leaves me on the edge of my seat and reminds me Vin Diesel was in that movie.

The messenger running through the forest in Last Of The Mohicans having his path cleared by Hawkeye should have been on the list. Shooting at night, without a scope or a precisely measured amount of powder, at running targets, was impressive

I got chills when watching the sniper scene in American Sniper. I'm so glad the movie won the Oscar for Best Sound Editing. Can't believe Clint Eastwood was 84 years old when he made that movie and made some of the best sniper scene in cinema history
I get a similar feeling during the sniper scenes from saving private ryan
I saw that movie in the theater. You could hear a pin drop as the credits began to roll, while they were showing his funeral. I cried like a baby.
The most thrilling moment for me was knowing that this was all real, and not just some Hollywood special effects

Happy that Enemy at the Gate made the top of this list... Was thinking the string/mirror scene would be the top one from this movie but I am happy with the opening scene being the top pick.

The sniper/hitman in "Day of the Jackal " is unbelievably intelligent in how he sets up the hit, makes his weapon and gets past security. If you haven't seen the movie watch it and I promise you will never forget it.
Wesley Snipes “Liberty Stands Still” should really be on this list. Apart from great sniper shots, it’s a great film that takes place in one spot.
Saving Private Ryan and American Sniper have to be in top 5

I knew Clint Eastwood's American Sniper would be on this list and possibly higher and I was right. Yeah the movie have issues but the sniper scene, man that was such masterpiece of a scene with great sound editing work
I frickin love Quigley Down Under it's a short movie but you know who Quigley is and how he is and it all comes together great def a good one
I’m so glad the Bourne Ultimatum was included on this list! What a thrilling start to an incredible movie! Also great are the farm scene with Clive Owen in the first film and the heartbreaking jeep scene in the second.
I haven't watched this yet but the scene from Hurt Locker should be on this list.

I like ‘ The losers ‘ the scene where the tech Jensen ( Chris ‘ Captain America ‘ Evens ) is trapped and pointing his fingers at the security guards
‘ the CIA experimented on me the did horrible things , weird things , anal things and made my mind a horrible weapon’ pretends to shoot a few of the guards who are shot only to reveal the bullet holes in the glass behind Jensen and backtracking shot to the sniper Cougar about a mile away.
My favorite scene is Taraji P. Henson's Smokin' Aces sniper scene.

I would have put the scene in Jack Reacher a little higher. It really encompasses the general panic and fear a sniper can inflict.

I cannot believe we never got a sequel to Wanted. Also anyone questioning Vin Diesel's acting, watch him in Saving Private Ryan, as he is superb in his brief scenes.

My no1 is enemy at the gates. Jude law's character takes out 5 German's with insane and masterful marksmanship.

WHAT??? what about that scene from Heat (1995) in the abandoned drive-in movie theater? Or what about Bad Boys for life, where the bad guy killed several people with a sniper rifle? Or the begging scene in Face Off(1997)?
I know it's movies only but Shifty Powers sniper shot in Band of Brothers should have been honorable mention. Also true events so makes it that much more special.

I like GEMINI MAN, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, and ENEMY AT THE GATES. I also love CAPTAIN PHILLIPS.
Unless I'm way off, the scene mentioned from Full Metal Jacket does not feature a "traditional" sniper rifle. It's just a plain stock AK47. While the Russians did make an AK47 based sniper rifle later, TMK, it was not available for Vietnam.

American Sniper was an excellent movie.
The Saving Private Ryan sniper scene where the German gets shot through his sniper scope is an awesome scene, but the science doesn’t add up. In reality, at 450 yards, gravity works against the bullet, so the sniper would have to shoot above his target. Thus the bullet would fly down on the enemy, rather that straight at him.
The watch mojo people didn’t say top 10 reasons why 2021 was the worst so that truly proves that 2021 was a fine year after all and it was a much better year than 2020.
I would say my favorite sniper shot is from Saving Private Ryan!

Eraser had a few fun but very unrealistic sniper shots. NCIS season 7 episode 1 at the very end had a great one, though of course this is a TV show not a film.
