Seems odd that the video didn't mention the fact that the "actors" in the movie Act of Valor, were not actually actors, but were instead played by real Navy SEALs.

As retired US Air Force, one of the things that always gets me is how Black Hawk Down failed to even mention the USAF special forces that were invovled. Para Rescue and Comabt Contolers were there and were deeply invovled.

@@benreid9927 Yup😂 join the marines do AF stuff is so accurate, it's because all of the different branches just overlap everywhere now to be honest, You got Navy Seals in the Afghani Iraqi Desert, You got Army Flying the helicopters, Marines, well you probably know with that happening to your son😂 in recon training a lot of the guys i went in with dropped off usually for the most petty or trivial things, just happening to draw attention to themselves at a bad time. Recon is a long training but it's not hard if you can handle lack of sleep not navy seal level lack of sleep but 2-3hrs max a night and still be cognizant enough to lie when the instructors ask you mental questions to make you seem as normal as possible, Because if not, this is where they fck people over, The recon training is slightly harder than regular infantry and way longer. If you fail in any way, when you're kicked out of Recon you won't be able to go Regular Infantry because Recon are still just grunts so they mark it that you're unfit for Infantry as well and usually ship you off to some warehouse. Some of the older guys did say a way they got it was they enlisted as regular infantry and then at the board chose whichever mos

It's been an annoyance for me for decades, Hollywood will take Canadian stories and make Americana the heroes. Americans are heroes all on their own and have a great rich history why Hollywood does it I don't know. I'm 52 and have watched all the great world war epics and Korea and Vietnam and Afghanistan and Iraq and hotel Rawanda and so on, in the epics it is the British and Americans with no mention of Canada, The Great Escape for example was planned and carried out by a Canadian RCAF pilot. There are missions in other movies that were in fact lead by Canadian forces and Americans and Brits were under Canadian command all throughout Belgium and Denmark especially the battle of the Scheldt. Canadian invented mouse holing and perfected the rolling barrage and IEDs , Half the Geneva conventions were written because of Canada in WW1, the Nuremberg trials had some Canadian judges, there is tons of history of Canada and Canadian valor but Hollyweird casts it as American every time. One of the more forgotten special forces films is 'Who Dares Wins' staring Lewis Colins. It is a rather over the top but fun film made in the 80's, with the SAS as the hero's, made in the wake of the Iranian embassy seige.

In the video games, I think Tom Clancy's series should be deserved on #1. There's too many Special Forces units in this series, such as Rainbow Six, Third Echelon, and Ghost Recon.
While the movie The Rock remains one of my all time favorites, I do think its odd to have the SEAL team from that movie on this list. Because the SEAL team in that movie walked into an ambush, where every single SEAL team member is killed, and they had zero kills to the enemy. Now I will admit and I often debated on how realistic that would've been where some of the finest marksman in the world, somehow did not score a single kill, even if the enemy had them from an elevated position. The SEALs would've still lost that fight, but not without causing a few casualties to the enemy before they went.
Black Hawk Down was not just Delta Force, but also 75th Ranger Regiment and 160th SOAR. And while not special forces operators, they were rescued by the 10th Mountain Division.

With regards to Black Hawke Down, The Rangers deserve credit alongside DELTA force. I know they did during the explanation, however definitely deserved it as part of the entry.
While I’m just an average guy, the U.S. Navy SEALS getting the recognition they deserve, as shown in _American Sniper,_ shows the high stakes our servicemen and servicewomen face daily. We thank them for putting their lives on the line to defend America!
The American soldiers in Iraq were not defending America, they were there because George W Bush claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction which was a lie.

Doherty and Smith (the two contractors that died) were both GRS contractors for the CIA. both ex-Navy, i think Doherty worked private military too before Benghazi. they had to supply their own stuff because Benghazi was a shit-show, normally GRS teams are better equipped. And part of the team involved in the real Benghazi attacks was actual CIA employees IIRC. GRS is just the name of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center's "paramilitary" contract teams.

Regarding Sicario, Delta Force was only involved in the Juarez operation. The rest of the movie depicted CIA SAD-SOG, AKA Ground Branch.
To me the Rock showed the respect the Americans have for the SAS and the late Sir Sean Connery did a pretty good job

"Global Response Staff"?? those guys were private-hires, aka, mercernaries. At the beginning, they talk about how they have to supply their OWN ammo. IF this were a US Gov't contracted team, they wouldn't have to do that.
Doherty and Smith (the two contractors that died) were both GRS contractors for the CIA. both ex-Navy, i think Doherty worked private military too before Benghazi. they had to supply their own stuff because Benghazi was a shit-show, normally GRS teams are better equipped. And part of the team involved in the real Benghazi attacks was actual CIA employees IIRC.
GRS is just the name of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center's "paramilitary" contract teams.
