Ober, Lopez and SWR. Just remember the Twins won it all in 87 with Viola, an aging Blyleven and Straker and in 91 with Morris, Erickson and Tapani. Maybe Bailey, Pablo and Simeon could be just good enough to give the Twins a chance. We’ll see.
Frank viola, proven ace with bert blyleven former cy young runner and hall of famer that is one top 50 pitchers in baseball history. Erickson, ace including cy young winner and Jack Morris, cy young runner up, hall of famer with three world series rings. There is no comparison from those teams and the current Twins core, sorry but not sorry.

@@benjames4502that was Erickson’s only good year with the Twins. He had a few decent years after that with Toronto and Baltimore. I was at game 6 in 1991 when he gave up a long foul ball to David Justice that missed being a home run by about a foot. That would have led to a win by the Braves and we’d have a different narrative. Tapani was a very good pitcher and very solid. I agree the Twins don’t have that ace like Viola or Morris although I think Pablo has that potential but he hasn’t lived up to that yet.
This game only makes me more mad about last night.

Other teams have learned you don't pitch to him middle in as he is a pull hitter, highly susceptible to the outer half of the plate pitches.
