@Ink Pen, I totally agree with you, it definitely has that Janet Jackson sound and feel! Cherrelle is most definitely a great talent, it's such a shame that her career was short-lived!

This was Jimmy Jam's and Terry Lewis' precursor to the Control album. It was the blueprint/trial run for the Janet's debut. Both albums are fantastic works from the 2 masters.

Cherrelle worked a lot with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, which probably explains why this song sounds so similar to Janet's work. I always thought Cherrelle's song on this album, "Happy That You're Happy With Me" was the sister song to "Escapade."
