Tell us about the Cannabis Wars and why long-time estate owners are selling... all the complaints about noxious odors, etc. I had no idea...
It’s been interesting and I wouldn’t quite call it cannabis wars although I guess for some it may feel that way. A lot of the greenhouse agriculture in Carpinteria transition to cannabis, and as the smell began to permeate the community they were forced to take preventative measures in order to capture that smell. It has decreased, but hasn’t been 100% effective. There’s also times where the systems could be down due to maintenance or electricity outage, so it’s definitely rubbing some people the wrong way. On the other hand, there’s a growing population that don’t mind the neighborhood impact.
