Just did this with a ls3 and 480le setup on my 64ss. I used the brp kit for the motor mounts and trans bracket but wasn’t to happy with the kit. Great job doing it by yourself it’s a pain with no help
@@carlosh8113 it’s expensive for what it is and the pinion angle was off and only doable because I have an adjustable ford 9. Just a lot cheaper options out there that you have to piece together

Man appreciate you sharing. I just decided to start swapping my 64 impala. I put a 327 crate engine knowing I shoulda LS'd it from the get go. Never would have known about the tranny bracket if you wouldn't have mentioned it for the 4l80e. Thank you!

awesome job, I'm in the middle of doing my 64 with a LS 5.3 engine, what type of oil pan did you have to use for the change over? this video helps out a lot. Good luck bro
I used a stock LS1 oil pan. And stock coolant cross over. I used rear block offs and it’s just a cross over in the front. It have a tube connected to go the the water pump spacer.
67 chevelle is same? I used ebay adapters s u ock mounts.4 washers under ea.bolt to raise motor. Ebay 302/2 pan. Sit right on the cross member. Order cast headers. Trans is 4 spd.from yukon. Love the build man, quick question what kind of fuel pump are you using for this swap, i have a vortex in my Impala i just don't know what fuel pump i can install in the tank so it can work with my engine
I did the exact thing with washers. But pan is still on the cross member. Its in but? 67 malibu. 302 oil pan from china? It's been a year since I touched it. New Master/ front lines. That was all. I might cut the cross

Morning sir, im doing the same swap. Which oil pan did you use? Im having clearence issues. First pan was hitting cross member, 2nd pan no clearence for tie rods and pan 3 no bueno all around.
Please help! I did a 5.3/4l60 in an El Camino, and I keep getting TCC codes. Did you have any issues with this on your swap at all? How did you get through it? Its the only thing keeping me from driving this car and I can't figure out what the problem is! My next LS swap is on my 64 Biscayne 2 door post. 6.0/4L80e and it seems like I can follow your videos directly and get it done so thank you! And thanks for your help!
@classicpatinas ended up getting it figured out. I was looking at a late year 2001 wiring schematic. I needed the early year apparently. They're a little different. Took the El Camino out yesterday and ripped a burnout. She's running great now!
Considering this was my first swap and I was alone the whole time it wasn’t too bad. It was only hard because I couldn’t lift up on the back of the trans when I needed to sometimes
Totally love 64 impala 4 door sedans, and an LS is just making it even better, going to be a wicked daily driver!

What ECU do you have?
@@classicpatinas it's the stock cpu. It'll go in reverse, and run great. But as soon as I put it in drive it's like it's stuck in 3 gear or something.

Yes, 5.3s and 6.0s are the same dimensions
