So now that I officially bought a house, I can finally ramp up content again! Hurricane Beryl almost totals the SC400 with almost 90 MPH winds. If you dont mind me asking, how much did the motor run you? I really want to do a LS swap in my 63 impala and just wondering whats a good price to pay for one
My first engine was the 5.3 I paid 1800 for it however it was complete with accessories, standalone harness, stock ecu and a 4l60e. That was in 2021 This 6.0 cost me 800 for just a long block

@@classicpatinasBrother it took me hours. You still had daylight. I had to remove the seats, given that I'm small, Had to remove a bracket in order to get that damn white cable above the yellow, but I got it done. Started at 3pm ish and finished around now 12am. 🤣

@@classicpatinas the green cables were easy. One of the whites gave me trouble. I could not for the life of me stick something into and left the tab. After that it was straight forward.

No clue at the moment. This is the second time this engine chewed up a lifter and cam. Different cylinder though. Still doing research on why

Now you raised your engine 3/4" mine in a 62 Impala needs to be lowered and oilpan is 3/4" above the x-body frame. Front of the engine sit to high. I have been driving it but now need to replace the transmission something hits the frame I believe it to be the driveshaft have replaced the carrier bearing stopped the banging for a short time I believe it to be front driveshaft angle.
All you have to do is raise trans cross member in the back and it should level it out.
@@classicpatinas with the 4l60e trans their is no room to raise the trans. I'm going to have to take 7/16" off the frame engine mounts. That appears to be my only option. I'll get a set from the junkyard to experiment.

What shop cut your drive shift for you and how much did it cost you
NW Driveline, they cut, welded, balanced and painted the drive shaft for a few hundred bucks, don’t remember the exact number because I had to do it twice 😅. I didn’t get it cut long enough the first time.

Eventually I will do coilovers in the rear too but that’s for a different time.

It’s a 1964 Impala 4L60e swap crossmember, it almost look like bicycle handle bars.

It’s tough but you kinda just have to pry at it without breaking it… from what I did before
I did the exact thing with washers. But pan is still on the cross member. Its in but? 67 malibu. 302 oil pan from china? It's been a year since I touched it. New Master/ front lines. That was all. I might cut the cross

The intake was from a friends car, it’s on a Holley terminator X Max but the part number depends on set up of engine and transmission
