I've been a lover of Prairie Mountain for a few years now. I'm intimately familiar with the trail previous to update. While a select few are unhappy with the updates, I really appreciate the thoughtfulness. The trail is still challenging... and anyone who says it isn't, I say... then run faster 😉. I'm a big fan of going over the top and down the backside (aka: Knee Saver).
I agree with you 100%. I really like the improvements they have made. It still is not a walk in the park. Next summer I will do it again and go down the way you are talking about. Thanks for watching and commenting😁
It still has a lot of elevation gain for the distance. Still not an easy hike. The views are cool seeing the mountains on one side and the foothills and the prairies on the other. My Thermos keeps the soup piping hot😁
Great video looks like they made a great job of the new trail they have rerouted the start that was always a bad bit as it was steep as hell right out of the gate. I have not done that trail in a long time but like to come down the back way and along the prairie creek route was less crowded .. The flag at the top is now a small one eh,

I really enjoyed the trail this time. I am definately going back to come down the other way. It's a baby flag now🤣🤣🤣
