    That looks like a beautiful race Del. Well done on your finish and well done on finding your way around those trails!

      Thanks Lynne :) REU is one of my favourites these days. I love woodland trails as much as mountain trails - certainly makes it a different kind of challenge! Hope you're still all staying healthy and running well :)

    Thanks for doing this Del! I ran the 50km too and enjoy reliving it here. I hope to remember to view this again in the depths of winter so that I can remember what a great day on a great course it was.

      You're very welcome :) It was a great day out there, and I hope you had just as much fun, if not more! Thanks for watching ... same time, same place next year?

    Thanks Del, What a smashing video, I really enjoyed it.... and no bad language directed at the course designers ... perhaps we should try harder next year !

      And thank YOU for giving us a tough course to Master - you're going to have to try much, much harder to stop us runners coming back 😀 The time and effort you and Bryan put in to this race doesn't go unnoticed, and I truly appreciate everything you and the team does. Without you, this video wouldn't have been possible! Thank you!
      PS: We edited out all the swearing 😉

    Great job. I was just directing traffic this year but will have to run it next year. Thanks for sharing the journey.

    Any special preparing before a race like this one?

    • @DelsJogswithDogs
      @DelsJogswithDogs  3 года назад

      It depends on what running you've done already. I would certainly recommend running trails and doing hills, otherwise you might struggle. If you've not done an ultra before, then just build up the weekly mileage gradually. The nice thing with this race is they have distances from 12k up to 100k so you can still experience the course regardless of ability. They also have course orientation days during the summer so you can get familiar with the course and terrain. They're definitely worth doing :) if you're in the area and looking for a great fall race, then for me, this would be the one :)

      @@DelsJogswithDogs thanks. I was wondering about how you prep

    • @DelsJogswithDogs
      @DelsJogswithDogs  3 года назад +2

      @@AdiAsaf oh, sorry! Not really. I try to run trails and get the hills in as mentioned, but I don't do anything special. My weekly mileage is usually around 80 to 100k or 50 to 60 miles, even when training for longer races. I've been running many years so already have a giud endurance base. I might eat a bit more pasta in the week leading up to it, but in all honesty, I don't really change my diet or schedule too much. Oh, and massage - I try to get a sports massage a few days before and again a few days later :)

      @@DelsJogswithDogs epic..and while you're doing your 60 mile weekly routine I'm 'recovering' from a 6km blister..shame 😉
