    Great walk around. I never knew about these rigs until a couple of them pulled up to our campsite a couple years ago. Took a quick ride in one and I was impressed. They had child seats in the back and the kiddos were sleeping because it rode so smooth. I also have a family of 5 and this seems like the only reasonable option, albeit a great option; to get the whole family out on the trails and enjoy it. Looking forward to more videos of the P1-5.

    I’ve had my pioneer 1000 deluxe 5 for a while now. I absolutely think it’s great. It will take me everywhere I want to go. It’s not ear flapping fast but that’s not what I wanted. No desire for speed I’ve seen to many people get hurt and one person die from driving them fast. It goes where the rest of them will go but when the water gets deep I won’t follow. I’ve seen what that does to a side by side. The dealers love people who think their side by side is a boat. Great for just riding the trails with friends and enjoying the day. I love the cargo space in the bed you can put everything you might need back there for trail camping or just day rides. Warning minimum time to clean after ride is about three hours.

      Randy White the pioneer 1000 three seat is scary fast with my chip and gear reduction with small tires on it. It hits 60 mph real fast on the trail.

    You have a beautiful machine. I own a 2013 Polaris Ranger 900 XP and I love it but I will trade it for yours I think yours looks more sporty and I wouldn't buy a Polaris again the Polaris dealership in town has very bad customer service.

    The only problem with the Honda is when the transmission goes it will cost big time. The Kawasaki mules have the belt but it is cheap and easy to fix.

    Thanks for the review. We are test driving one tomorrow (here in northern AZ). Our first off road vehicle. I need to do more research on the 'street legal tire aspect, although with a trailer we'll probably be towing it more often than not. I guess I'll find out tomorrow, but how 'roomy' is the front seats for 3?

      There is a good amount of room in my eyes, I like the bench seat. I can fix myself, my wife and a kid with helmet in the front without crowning issues. Good luck on your search!

    If i'm not mistaken you said you installed a lift and had some concern about the width? You can buy wheel spacers that range anywhere from 3/4" right up to 2" which makes a nice difference. I have a Ranger 570 midsize that i also lifted 2-1/2" and was a bit concerned about the stance so i added 1-1/2" spacers and it gives it a nice stable stance. I run it very hard and have not had any issues with the spacers, axles or suspension...

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the tip! I have since changed to truck tires and 15" rims and the handling is night and day! I did try wheel spacers on both the front and back for a while but prefer this set up better. I have a 5+2 rim all around and a 1.5" spacer in the back to make the track the same front to rear.

    Will you address the rumors of the transmission shifting poorly? Was it bad at first then got better? Was it ever jerky or noisy?

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  5 лет назад

      I would say that it was jerky or harsh the first hundred or so miles, after that it gets smoother. I think that part of the problem people have is that the throttle is touchy to most at first but you get used to it.

  • @CasperRc81

    I was the same with the cvt belt system but I’m learning to like it more. It’s quicker you have a week point that is easier and cheaper to replace. I’ve never broke one and learning when to use low and high range should have no issues. I just picked up and xp4 turbo. There very streetable the low start up is easy you don’t feel the turbo. I also agree with you I like the up seat position especially for Az driving seating is good and roomy. It is long but not as long as the can am. I’m able to fit it through all of box canyon and climb the waterfall with little rubbing. I hit 80mph on the street so speed is there especially for Az. The shocks and stability is already there. Only thing I don’t like about the sport side is no locker in the rear but that’s small they are still locked solid. If your reverse gearing is to high you can always use 4L. Your video is great and I have a thing for the Honda pioneer 1000 three seat stripped model with white plastic for some reason. Maybe next time.

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the comment, the problem with reverse gearing is that it is its own gear, meaning I have park, reverse, neutral, high, and low range. I wish these SxS had a true transfer case so you had a low ranger reverse. Thanks for stopping by!

    • @DirtNDiesel
      @DirtNDiesel  5 лет назад +1

      I put the Highlighter 2.5" lift on the rear and a shock spacer lift on the front. I did not use the front part of the highlighter lift, because I did not want to remove or re-locate the air dam in the front for the heat fix. I went with those options because of price, in the future I hope to be getting c-fab a-arms and new front shocks.
