I've had a BlackRidge 155 going on 10 years and and except for changing the oil and changing the filters it's never give me a problem. Four years ago I upgraded to a16 CFM ITM Industrial Series and today I unpacked it and started using it. I am removing the electric motor from the Blackridge and putting it on a cement mixer.
A fairer comparison would have been for the Stanley's time to 8 Bar, which was 1m22s, so 20 seconds (~25%) faster than the Blackridge. (The Stanley's test time was to 10 Bar) Thanks for the reviews - I just picked up the Stanley from SCA for $499 in a combo deal with a 20m hose.
The stanley is a boss compressor but when its all at standard prices 549 vs 899 makes the blackridge a dam fine option. I own 2 black ridge belt drives a inflator size one and a 180ltpm direct drive. And a stanley :) i use tons of compressed air and touch wood none have let me down
Not off to a good start. Got it home and it’s clearly damaged stock (floor stock / return ?) Wheels and axle missing, Front stoppers missing. Handle missing. Probably other stuff missing too. Then I see that the air fitting has snapped off completely and has clearly hit something hard outside of the box (has grit in it). I’m sure SCA will come good, but it’s going to be a PITA to pack it all up and take it back !!
I bought one of the Black Ridge Air Compressors from Super Cheap Auto less than 2 years ago and the Switch (Red Button that turns the compressor ON/OFF FAILED and stared to SMOKE..Then wouldnt turn back on.. The compressor lasted less than 2 years and had MINIMAL USAGE.. BEWARE These are CHEAP AND NASTY and when you call service for repairs they don't give a damn and will say its got 12 months warranty and push you to a local service provider.. Thanks Super Cheap Auto yet again you have proven that your products are inferior and as the name says Super Cheap...
Great video on the Stanley ... Can you tell me which water and oil filter trap to buy with this unit as I just picked it up on sale at $475...will be spray painting and some spot blasting with it
@@Oneupthesleevecustoms that's a good deal... What are all these other ones I see out there for $300 etc.? Also , I think on the Stanley there's a plug near the outlet pipe under the metal cage to connect another outlet pipe for this water oil trap and mount it to the handle bar .. is this ok?
Hey mate if one of them fail check out the direct drive v twin full boar at Bunnings. Kills my Stanley for lpm and it is 150psi. I have the same Stanley. I use it in the shed as it is quiet compared to the full boar
stumbled upon this vid a while back and saw this forsale for $350 on marketplace. Was about to snatch it up but found our SCA had the new silenced one for $399 brand new so went with that. Hopefully these oil free compressors last aslong because i know your stanley has copped a flogging and still chugs along. 1 thing for sure is im so happy to be rid of my blackridge 112LPM direct drive. I will never own a direct drive compressor again, that noise is the stuff of nightmares. I could put up with the more bearable noise of a belt drive but these silenced ones are next level. Have you had much experience with the silenced compressors? My one pumps the 50L tank from empty in 2 minutes flat. It does come with a 75% duty cycle though compared to the 95% of the belt drive.
My Blackridge 20L compressor just died so I need a new one. It was very loud! How does the Stanley belt drive compare noise wise to the Blackridge you demoed. Cheers

I think your reg has a leak... or your oil, maybe seals.. looks like there is some extra slippage of sorts.. is it maintaining pressure? Edit: I think I see now, your regulator is all the way open, by the looks of things. Never mind! cheers :-)
Why are these vids always presented BY tradies FOR tradies?? For the "home handyman" (so prominently mentioned in the promotions) these vids are, if not useless, certainly unhelpful. Even the manufacturer's downloadable manual is chronically inadequate. Showing the compressor (as in other of this retailer's vids) being taken out of its box is a complete waste of time. What's wrong with a simple "Beginner's Guide"? A step-by-step go-to-whoa demonstration of exactly how to actually OPERATE the thing? How to operate the air taps, attach hoses, which hose goes where (Regulated or unregulated - zero mention in the manual), attach tools, switch off? I realize the retailer and the manufacturer are simply saving money by inviting tradies to produce these vids but, frankly, for millions of amateur "home handymen" they are, at best, uninformative. Such matters as how long it takes to pressure up is irrelevant.
@@Oneupthesleevecustoms For the "tradie" (Aussie for tradesman) or experienced home handyman wishing to compare products I have no doubt your videos are extremely helpful. But for the novice I believe more information would be useful (see original comment). Would I watch a step-by-step? Absolutely.

I've had the Stanley comp for 6 years and no trouble with it whats so ever, best bit of kit in my workshop.
