I’ve never used the xr10 but the motor in that combo is more meant for racing, however if you pick the right kv and gearing ratio the sidewinder 4 can really get up and go, I’ve gotten 50mph out of my slash 2wd on 3s 4600kv and 22/86 gearing with the sidewinder combo so it’s really up to you, maybe watch a few vids on the xr10 and sw4 to help you pick!!!
@@toddshobbyzone659 yeah man sorry I can’t help you with the hobbywing, but considering how powerful the Max10 esc and motor combo in our stampede is I think either way both of those systems are gonna give you crazy amounts of power and you’ll be satisfied either way!
That body is clean! I like it, but man, it's 2023, why not switch to lipo? Better answer longer runtimes, no quick abrupt sudden power loss etc, and a hunt of advice I have this combo but with the I think it's either a 22 or 2400kv motor n the motor has the sensored port but the esc is sensorless only so while bashing, it's a good idea to put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor wire port on the motor to keep water and gunk outta it, but dang I really do like that body my guy, did u buy it that way or paint it yourself or have sumone custom paint it? I really really really dig it
Hey man! To follow up with you we do run lipos now on all of our cars and the body was a clear slash body with Spaz stix paint that I sprayed on myself.
I just bought a Sidewinder 4 paired with a Castle 5700kV sensored motor for my ECX Ruckus 2wd 1/10. What transmitter and receiver would you recommend because I don't think either of the stock ones are compatible?
Did your truck come with the STX2? My Torment came with that radio and it paired up fine. I have the Sidewinder 4 with the 5700kv as well as the 3800kv and they worked fine. I'm not a professional but I'd say go through your manual again and if it doesn't then something isn't working properly. The stock receiver by spectrum works fine and was recommended by many RC shops. Hope this helps
Check my comment below. Your turning on the radio and holding down the throttle and then turning on the truck right? The sidewinder manual has step by step instructions but sometimes it can seem difficult. Let me know and I'll walk you through it Nevermind that was 4 months ago. Sorry I don't usually go online and read and leave comments until recently with RC because it's become such a fun hobby I recently started but forget to check when these comments were made
@@insanerc9585 Someone told me the motor would fit but the ecs would be a little too big. I already ordered it so I'm going to see if I can stuff it in there lol
The directions are in the manual. I'm sure I'm not the only person to mention this. No offense at all but if I ever put a video online id make 100% sure I was saying the correct Info. The book he threw down had the steps on how to program it for brakes, drag brakes, lipo, NIMH, and a couple other features
Insane RC it wasn’t a high quality video but you get the idea , looks like I can’t use my new rc kit when it arrives , probably gonna have to buy a sw4 or something
Guys don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE let’s hit 50 subs!!!!!!!!!!
Nice I already got new tires I just haven’t put them on yet
Cameron Miller never heard of it but yes I tested the sidewinder 4 on NIMH battery’s and it is crazy fast
It is already 51 when I subscribed
I’m excited to see it driving
If you had to choose between hobbywing xr10 max or the castle sw4 for drag racing a slash- which way would you go?

I have been watching anything and everything. Even contacted castle and hobbywing for some direction.

The sidewinder 4 ESC plug should plug into your receiver, how many slots does the current receiver have?

Sorry it's a spectrum servo. I'm not sure what brand receiver it is but mine is still stock and paired up

Anyone know if this will work with a WLtoys A959?
Unfortunately I don’t believe it will fit as the motor may be too big for the car

Is this faster than the Vxl 3
Yes it is faster.
@@insanerc9585 thanks bro I bought one and the proline trans

I thought the sw4 was sensorless
I have a sensored motor but sensorless ESC there are many options when it comes to Sensored/Sensorless products from Castle
Insane RC I was also looking at some hobby king stuff, I’m about to post a new vid
Andrew Melton great I’ll check it out
