@FFF fitness don't forget your relationship status and sex life. People love to gossip when our business doesn't effect them, especially if we don't fuck with each other like that. It's like why do you need to know who I'm talking to, what I'm about to do, the amount of money I make and who I'm doing with? Cuz some people didn't change like we did and try to do everything in their power to bring you back to their level cuz they don't want YOU to so better than THEM. TRUE FRIENDS want their friends to see the best version of themselves if they haven't already. If a person is not supportive of you getting help and bettering yourself, drop them. You don't need negative energy in your life. I'm going through my weight loss journey 💪 and watch how many people that I KNOW and went to school with that wasn't checking for me all of a sudden want to hang out and telling me some bullshit. Because they didn't actually believe I would actually get it done and they don't want me to do better than them. But they be the same people that be gossiping and wasn't checking for you or on you when you're struggling/at your lowest. They more than likely sleep with 1 eye open 🥴

I've learned that when you plant seeds, you keep them covered until they sprout. You never let birds know where your seeds are. They'll pick at them, take them, destroy them, etc... Discretion and discernment are key. I've learned that lesson young and also the hard way too.

Stop doing “Girls Trips” and travel and tour alone. Stop going to happy hour with girlfriends and go alone. Learn to just be alone. I’ll sit at a table in a restaurant ALONE and sometimes you get men who think you’re lonely. Signifying “you have no friends and no man therefore no drama” Then these men will approach you out of sympathy because they feel sad for you so they throw on the cape. Come to your table, strike up a conversation and possibly/hopefully offer to pay for your meal. If you accept or decline depends on the man, the mood, and the vibration in the atmosphere. Go to Barnes and Nobles alone. Go to the park ALONE. Alone alone alone. Alone is not lonely.

Short Story: A few years back I made friends with another black woman on the job. She seemed cool and we talked and bonded over different things. I got too comfortable with her and told her I was going for a certain management position. I interviewed and didn't get it. A similar position opened up a few months later, interviewed, didn't get it. Come to find out, she had been talking to someone who was close with those in leadership. Telling things about my personal life that I had shared with her putting me at a disadvantage. Learned my lesson! Ladies, keep your business to yourself.

I noticed this a while ago. Specifically with plus sized dark skin women. A lot of which are very very feminine. They play up their femininity, they know what works with their body, they feel confident and you can feel that. But they never ever discuss it. They are always very stylish and usually have lots of men chasing them of all races even though we are told bigger women aren’t attractive. Their femininity and the way they hold themselves and take care of themselves make them attractive to men. As well as the way they talk. Very smooth and sweet. Sometimes sultry. They make lots of eye contact. Smiling. Knowing how to walk seductively at all times. Standing straight. I’ve seen it. They never discuss it. But it works. And people HATE to see it. They hate seeing men who like them and they hate seeing them level up.

One thing I've found helpful is to have my antennas up when people start asking probing questions. When you start getting serious about leveling up, people will notice that you are moving differently. They will ask questions, sometimes with an agenda. If the person asking the questions is not someone you know well AND trust, keep your answers vague and brief while still being cordial. This is especially true when dealing with white women in the corporate world.

@@ChrissiesWay Would it be possible for you to do a follow up video on how women can proactively respond to people who question them about their change in appearance (losing weight and wearing natural hair), attitude, and dating habits during the process of leveling up? I see so many women who forgo discretion when it comes to who they tell about their level up journey simply because they are blind sided by the questions and/or don't know how to give the "correct response" versus the "unadulterated truthful response". Moving in silence while leveling up is ideal but at times questions from people who are just nosey and/or have agendas are unavoidable and black women need help with how they should respond. I'm totally the opposite and I hate that. I think I'm pretty good at reading people but I can't keep that info to myself, particularly to anyone who's in my face long enough. I'm just the type of person who will either stay quiet with the info in my head or I'll tell the other person. I cant just keep talking to the person and act like everything is ok. For example: I have narcissistic family members so now I pretty much have a narcissist radar for everyone I meet. If someone shows some behaviours of narcissists, I will interrogate them without mentioning the term narcissist ofc, and act like its a normal convo. Then if they answer how a narcissist answers, and I'm convinced they're a narcissist, at this point, I just stay silent and talk little, if I felt like telling him would harm me. Or I'd start talking about narcissism and how they behave and pretty much make it obvious that I think they're a narcissist. And then 5 minutes later, regret that I even opened my mouth. At the moment, I just feel too excited to keep the convo to myself and I can't simply converse about empty topics because they don't interest me.

Maybe its because I'm a Christian and some life experiences but I have been doing this my entire life. The Bible says be gentle as a dove but wise as a serpent. Make your moves in silence. The world is not on your side so do not invite them into your house. Because they will destroy anything good. Learn how to gauge people and how to give a little information but nothing substantial. Many surface level people will not realize what you are doing. Keep your it to yourself because not everyone you meet in your life is going to be a team player. There are always Judas in the world. We can choose to let them in our lives or not.

Sadé Jay OMG sis yes! My mom did great by raising me the best that she could and my father (a black man) also downplays her even though she has passed away! We all have to move in silence because it just seems like our “families” deep down inside don’t want to see us succeed!

  • @KarynMi
    @KarynMi 4 года назад +151

I’ve made this mistake more than once unfortunately. Everyone isn’t genuine when they pretend to be happy for you and negative energy CAN block your blessings. The saddest part is that I had been told over and over by numerous different people that I have a lot of “jealously” around me but I never took heed to it because I didn’t think my friends/family even had a reason to be jealous. It was never like I had a great life or I was pretty or had a lot of money or anything like that, I was just me and apparently that was where the envy came in to play. I’ve always been very sharing of the spotlight, tooting everyone’s horn but my own and I notice I never got the same. I had to wake up to the backhanded compliments, the unasked for “advice” to change myself, the “leave him, be single” speeches even when nothing was wrong. I’m 30 years old this year and I’m still learning to not be so trusting with people and to keep my good news to myself!!! I think people want you to do ok as long as you’re not doing better than them.

Beautifulll B I hate what she went through when she was open about her plastic surgery. The level of vitriol and hate was mind boggling. I agree, it’s hard because we are literally in an over share age especially with social media.

Sometimes it's not others sabotaging us. We do it to ourselves. I move in silence. I purchased a big ticket item in July and only two of my friends know about it. I'm the one in my group that everyone comes to for everything but I reconnected with a friend that's way more well off than me and it's a good thing. I had a really bad plumbing issue that wasn't covered by insurance or my home warranty and she was able to help. No one else in my circle would even be able to come close. So make sure you're not the top notch in your group unless you like being the person that always pours out but nobody pours into you.

True story on your level up journey you have to delete negative toxic envious people. They will try to stop the process. The less I stopped talking the better my life improved. The evil eye is real and you must protect yourself. You don't have to post everything and tell everyone your plans because surely the blessed is envied.

this is a strategy i've read by leading wealth-teachers & thought leaders.
    keep your plans to yourself.
    blow folks' minds.
    repeat. ;-)
P.S.~if you absolutely MUST discuss b/c of your excitement perhaps (been there) get a journal & write down your thoughts everyday. this is a great way to chart your progress as well.
~speak to your Pastor/Priest/Mentor/Therapist/Counselor/Doctor. someone who is ethically sworn to confidentiality.
~get in an online women's (FEMININITY/LIKE-MINDED) group. they're totally anonymous!

My mum always told me this. Till this day, I don’t tell my plans or business to people. I just move and if it comes up it comes up but only after the fact lol.
And if you do tell, watch their reactions, that’s how you’ll know if you should keep the rest of your affairs private.

Yes, yes Yes Yes Yes! But, they will try to tear you down with a million questions, though. Death by a million tiny cuts. Such as: Why are you wearing your hair that way. Why do you have on heels. Why do you match your outfit when it is just the gym. Why do you wear scarves. Why do you wear your fingernails medium instead of long. Why do your wear natural makeup and not heavy contour, etc. Why do you wear pearl earrings. Why do you wear hats. You should not wear hair extensions. Why do you wear light colors and white and beige. Why do you wear dresses and skirts. Why do you not wear those big fake eyelashes. Why do you like boots? Why do you speak so softly. They will kill you with a million questions, whenever you make a change, or if they think you are upgrading. If you do not level up, they say, dark skin girls do not take care of themselves. If you do level up, they say, dark skin girls are trying to be something that they are not. Wow! The Double Bind! So, since we can not win with them either way, neither if we take the low road, nor if we take the high road, so, go ahead and level up. Take the high road, then.

This is so true: This is why I keep my business to myself and my friends and resources separate.
I left my former law firm job due to the outright disrespect of the current managing attorney and ended up going with another attorney who started his own firm after he left ours.
Thanks to being discrete, I have a better job, more opportunities, and I have the position to revamp his law firm into a legal powerhouse. He is entrusting me with duties I never would have had at our old firm.

I was telling some close friends of mine about my decision to start dating hypergsmously. Ive only ever dated broke shitty men. And they didnt like it. It is very controversial because of the rhetoric of us being "gold diggers" or "fake" because of that decision. And "real love has nothing to do with money" The same rhetoric that has kept us held down for so long. A huge disadvantage of mine has been oversharing. I will be staying silent and focused from now on.

The best success is achieved behind closed doors. There is nothing wrong with not having friends. Too many fake ppl in life to develop real friendships. Ppl don't know how to be genuine friends to someone. I've had former friends until I realized that they didn't understand how to be a friend & they were not as real as they claimed . Now I'm friendless & I prefer it that way. It's easy for me to cut ppl out of my life if you don't meet my standards of what a decent friend is.
