All gorgeous! I, too, have Holiday paper I haven't used. I like the idea of an ornament. It can be attached to the gift and put on their tree. Double whamee!
I have an idea for, not only the series but for cardmaking in general. I would LOVE if there was a video (or series)where we would learn all the ways available to add glitz and shimmer and sparkle and glitter to our creative productions!!
Hi, Mary. I love all of your ideas. I have a variation you could try with the multiple circle die cuts glued back to back. You could place them INSIDE the card (with the same number of die cuts, or even more to make it fuller). You would glue it into the fold with each half on either side of the fold. Your string to "hang" the ornament would go right down the fold. When you open the card, the ornament will appear to pop up.
This is GREAT NEWS- can't have enough Christmas Card Series. What a great idea of using up pattern paper- I didn't know there was a peppermint pattern paper pad. I am interested. Love the non-traditional Christmas colors. Have a great week.
Was so glad to see your video this morning. As usual, I will watch you with my morning coffee for a quick smile to my day. Your cheerful spirit brought a smile again this morning. The mountain is going into winter and snow will soon be on its way. Garden & outside things are taking up my creative time right now. But yes, your video sure helps put us all in the mood for joyous creating for those we love for the holiday season (that is as soon as the snows drive us back inside from fall chores 🙃😊). Thanks again for the morning smile.
@@marypolancodesigns you are SO welcome. This morning we have 7" of first snow on the mountain (Republic, WA). Beautiful too. I will be spending more quiet mornings with you, in future, I believe.
So Beautiful! I saw ones I could customize for me! I make birthday cards for our church group and I find it hard to find inspiration sometimes. PS.. I agree with the lady asking for help with bling and glitz. Thank you!!
I LOVE that happy Christmas music you started the video with. It made me feel like I was sitting down to a Christmas musical! I love the 3 D ornament and also the embellishments you put in your shakers. And I am DEFINITELY getting those bow dies!!!
Oh YAY I appreciate your feedback on the music; I'm so happy it was fun! Oh you won't be disappointed about those bows. I'm putting them on EVERYTHING. haha
I laughed when you said you “had to have” a set of dies that you had not used before today! I have a couple of sets that I’ve not used for awhile after purchasing them… I think I just get distracted by other projects 😂
We're definitely getting the Holiday spirit watching this! And we know more than a couple of artists who can't seem to throw away a single scrap, who owe us a card this season! Any tips for keeping scraps, unused die cuts, and odds and ends of ribbon and other embellishments in good shape while they're waiting to be used?
My best tip for storage is to first and foremost ONLY keep what you will absolutely be planning to use with a future project. I had to get away from the "oh maybe someday I'll need or want this" because someday never comes for me. I keep sentiments mostly because I know I'll use those with any projects. But the small leftover leaf from a project I was doing, has to go. My second tip is to use envelopes or drawers to separate them in order to find them quicker. Thanks so much for this!
I keep my dies in CD clear pockets on magnetic squares cut to fit into the CD sleeve. If I have extra die cuts I will sometimes put them behind the magnetic square. sometimes I make a LOT of them and store them in their own CD sleeve by category.
@@marypolancodesigns Thanks for answering! We guess if you keep every little thing, it can be difficult to keep everything in good condition and retrieve what you need later. Great advice!
LOVE Blick Art Materials!!! I have a 12x12 clear storage case that is intended for scrapbook paper, but I keep it to the left of my work space. As I create scraps, I place them in the case. When it is full, I separate the pieces by theme, and place them in journal ephemera packs to sell in my shop!
Mary, what fun cards! I can’t decide which is my fave, because they are all great! Love the way you use packaging for your shaker card. Might as well save a bit, to spend on something else! TFS!
I love all these cards, Mary. Particularly the shakers. The 3D ornament cards are real WOW cards. As you said, not really for mailing. Still worth having a go. Thank you so much, Mary. I know whenever I come to your channel I will have a tutorial on something I can actually copy.💕🇨🇦💕
Mary this video was so enjoyable to watch. This Peppermint card stock is so pretty. You give me so so much inspiration. The 3D cards were so fabulous and looks so beautiful in this paper stock. 🌲 🎅 I’m so looking forward to Christmas this year!
Hi Mary! Always happy to see you. Holiday cards long done but always looking for new ideas…and thinking of other shapes these ideas would also work with!! Yay!
Hi. Thank you for sharing your ideas and knowledge. These are super, festive cards and while it's difficult to pick a favourite I do find that I'm leaning towards the shaker bauble because shakers are such fun. Thanks for the great video, it's lovely to watch you work and be inspirational to the crafting community.
I am always looking for ways of using scraps, I recently made a bunch of onsie cards and had that half circle that turns into a whole when you open it. Couldn't figure what to do with them but refused to throw them away ha I will make birthday with beach balls. luv yah Sharon.
@@marypolancodesigns I hear ya! I like to get my stuff out early so it can be enjoyed the whole season. I'm loving the 3D ornaments! I have some papers that could really be showcased like this! You always make such lovely things! 😍 Merry early Christmas 🎄
I really enjoyed this video. I love all the cards you made and inspired me to get busy! Question… How do you store your stamps and dies or what products do you use to store your stamps and dies?
I have just a couple of the refrigerator bins to put my stamps in and then some storage from Scrapbook.com. I then keep them mostly labeled by genre. I still have to do a video for how I store stuff; I"m working on it,.
I love that you support just keeping the paper 😂 Do you have any Hanukkah card inspiration? I’m tired of the same blue and silver with a stamped menorah but I’m just stumped lol
Thank you for showing so many ways to use patterned paper, Mary! I love your cards. I kind of wonder at the "Peppermint" name for that paper pad, though. Seems kind of muted to me for peppermint, but whatever. :) I have started holiday cards, though I'm not quite in full-production mode yet. I have a few birthday cards to do as well, which come up before Christmas & Hanukkah, so priorities. Anyway, I can't think of any ideas for more holiday videos. Sorry! Thank you for sharing. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
Thank you so much for this! Yeah I think it's like "soft candy colors" for Christmas theme not so much peppermint so I agree. Either way, it's gorgeous! Lol
I finally gave up on buying patterned paper because I realized when I moved my crafting area from my dining area to a corner in my bedroom. I don't use it more than once a year or so. I also gave up buying Xmas stuff when I accepted that the75 cards I made last year and the 100 the year before had not been sent. No point buying the things I am not going to use when there is so much I will use. On the other hand, I do love to watch christmas card videos.
These are 2 extremely important points that I hope others read! I was just sharing how I purge leftover little pieces from projects because it was just piling up and adding feelings of guilt for me. THanks for sharing this Heidi!
If you really don't think you'll send the cards, try donating to senior center, hospital, or other places. I stay local but there are some good organizations that send them where needed.
@@jcreateturner I would love to use the ones I made last year and give them to a senior center or something, however, I got as far as signing the cards, writing short notes, and addressing them, even including saying wishing you a happy 2020, so essentially, those are not usable. I will do my best to do some cards to give to the nursing home, but no idea how many I can do this year when pain keeps me in bed. That is truly a great idea and I appreciate it.
Love this. My favorite one is where the ornament goes off the bottom of the page!
I love that one too, so simple too. Lol. Thank you
