if your screen goes black that means your HDMI is plugged into your motherboard and not your graphics card, check the back of your PC and make sure you switch it. If it’s still black just restart it/turn it off and back on then you should be good. You’re welcome literally just happened to me and i was freaking out.
thats why you should never disable the iGPU... some devices cant output image to the PC without it, so disabling it messes things. Try to connect it to an external monitor.

gpu is for more consuming programs - if u play games u should enable gpu if u have low fps, but if everything working ok for u u can disable :P gpu is just to increase your performance when integrated graphics is for basic computer usage ( in old days ) new integrated graphic is even better than older gpus :P

The cons of disabling this is you can't troubleshoot if your GPU fails. I think you can get around this with using safe mode but otherwise you'll need to reinstall windows.
@ClipsRus354 Wym, just put it in the gpu, it wont do anything. If u have a gpu plug it in the gpu and u can then disable it. If u dont have a gpu and u use igpu(basically using gpu from ur processor) then dont do this.

@@the_oneandonly_bird I fixed it luckily but I am not doing that again it most likely has to be how dependent your gpu/cpu is on each other I have an 1060 and i3 6100(i get it not the greatest)and when I did it I had to boot into safe mode and enable the integrated graphics.

Did you duplicate the displays? Keep windows button pressed and then tap P to changing different display options. Duplicate and Extend will enable both monitors

don't know if you fixed it or not. But on a laptop when you disable your iGPU it won't run any different. Also the blackscreen is due to you disabling the iGPU since the display is dependent on the iGPU Drivers

with the IGPU enabled, my display uses my 4080, not windows. i had zero issue running certain monitoring SW until i updated Mobo, RAM, and chip. i think the IGPU is causing this issue because some GPUs limit what settings you can alter. i just want to disable and see if that restores functionality to my MSI software
It worked for me by downloading and installing the drivers using NVIDIA GeForce Experience.

For everyone having black screens just put ur hdmi cord or something u use into the gpu, not motherboard, since u dont have intergrated graphics.
