- Happy New Year, Lemon Drops! We are starting Season 2 off with a bang as the Lautners are sitting down with actress and Dancing with the Stars champion, Xochitl Gomez. Xochitl talks about her background that led her into acting, what it’s like to often be the youngest on set, the process of auditioning for the role of America Chavez and what it’s like to be a part of the Marvel Multiverse. She shares how she copes with the negatives that come with fame such as social media bullying and how she combats the negativity. Xochitl dives into the importance of surrounding herself with a great group of friends whom she leans on whenever she needs a positive distraction and how setting healthy boundaries has helped her to worry less about things that are outside of her control. As if her acting career isn’t impressive enough, Xochitl recently brought home the Mirrorball trophy and will be going on tour with the cast. So excited for this convo!! I first saw Xochitl when she was on The Babysitters Club and now to see where she is now is amazing!
I also saw Xochitl as America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She's amazing as America Chavez, and America Chavez is my favorite character of the MCU.

@@michelangelocarmona1705 I didn’t watch that movie because it’s just not my type of movie. I feel bad that Xochitl went through that with social media, I don’t agree with her character into girls, but I would never go that far to send her death threats though.
That’s where I first saw her too! The Netflix reboot of The Babysitter’s Club was really good! And I actually really loved Xochitl’s version of Dawn more than other versions I had seen and read about in the past! Not only because she was Latina this time around (instead of blonde haired/blue eyed like Stacey), but also because of how she was portrayed as the chill and empathetic BFF towards the other girls (like the times she had heart to hearts with Kristy and Mary Anne)! Oh yeah and the episodes where she protested at Camp Moosehead were classic!

Normally I don’t watch or listen to the Lautner’s podcast, but I had to tune in because of Xochitl Gomez! It’s been amazing to see how much this young lady has already accomplished in the last few years! From playing the first Latina version of Dawn Schafer in the Babysitters Club reboot, to making her MCU debut as America Chavez in the Multiverse of Madness, to now being a Dancing With the Stars champion! This girl has such a charismatic and free spirited personality that makes you wish that she was your daughter, your sister, your cousin, your BFF, or even your girlfriend! Not to mention, Xochitl replied to me on Instagram nine times while she competed on the show with Val! I’d like to see the Lautners interview other BSC girls like Momona Tamada (who she mentioned), Malia Baker, or Shay Rudolph (who has some podcast experience)! Oh yeah and speaking of McKenna Grace she wrote a song about Xochitl recently called Natalie, perhaps you could also ask her to be a guest as well! I think OG Robert Rodriguez fans like me are still waiting to see if Lavagirl will reunite with Sharkboy on the Squeeze sometime! I didn't know who Xochitl was until Dancing with the Stars and I just really like her. I’ve been a Xochitl fan since she got cast in BSC, and I remember all the negative comments. Sucks she had to go through that as well as the America negativity. I for one was proud to see a Latin as one of my favorite characters. She’s out here thriving & doing her thing w/class and having fun the whole way 🫶🏼

To know that she had all these death threats, I was like she’s just a kid who played a kickass role and did it well. It saddens me that she went through that because I am a fan of hers. She was literally making history in DWTS along with Rylee being the youngest. She was the youngest celebrity partner and Rylee was the youngest pro. AND NOTHING IS WRONG WITH BEING THE YOUNGEST AT ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU ARE BASICALLY KICKING ASS AND TAKING NAMES.

Um, I would wanted to hear some advice about infatuation & love. I've got crush on Emma Myers after i have watched several movies with her (especially Wednesday) and can't get over it. Sometimes I feel like I literally can't live without her, I've studied everything about her, but sometimes I feel better, but it overwhelms me a lot. Plus, I don't have possibility to talk/chat with her because of her fame and popularity, social media restrictions, no matter how much I try.

Why is a 17yr old friends with a grown man? Am I the only one who thinks that is strange?
I was concerned about that too. Not in a judgmental way on her part, just worrisome. It's great to have mentors but both of her closest support systems are two older men. I think it's common in circumstances where young people in her position (traveling, working, becoming famous) have trouble maintaining and making friends their age which can be really isolating. I just worry about power dynamics and intentions.
@@mitchyvandyYeah, there’s just plain and simple no reason for a child to be on close friends and texting daily with an adult. It’s weird and even more uncomfortable that Mr. Lautner thought this was normal and funny. The cycle of abuse in Hollywood will continue to persist unless attention is drawn to the toxic power dynamics children and young people are exposed to.
if it is legally problematic, report the relationship to authorities, as a citizen it is some kind of obligation. if legally accepted and you know any non-public issue, well, i don't know what to do. if you don't know anything, well, then that is not your business, not mine, it is theirs.
I think Xochitl deserves it her acting is awful, and whoever created those pictures, I'm glad you uploaded them.
