@maryerichs listen to Adam Steele story He was sent to Jodie by the Bishop his marriage, his whole life was destroyed by her allegations. He is the one that had her put on probation, because of what she did to him it’s really heartbreaking.
Jodi has daughter named Alex who's changed her last name. 2012 Jodi lost her license over a man named Adam. She broke her oath & named him to his ward within Mormon church/cult... he is so traumatized it's hard to watch him, too, relay the same type of facts over & over. Jodi lost her therapist license for 18 months. All is documented & public record.
Just listened to the 6 hr interview of Adam Steed, transfixed. Thank you for supporting this young woman's personal appearance. Often when all your power has been taken away, reclaiming your body with body art, wild hair color, expressive clothing, and personally meaningful jewelry is a necessary part of healing. Bless her for getting back in touch with her own body and identity.
Making yourself look different from your abusers and their tribe is a natural and necessary part of reclaiming your identity after enduring abuse for years.

Where does he live that he doesn't see people with tattoos all the time? Body art is so common, is he stuck in the last century where it meant prison or war? I thought they were adorable. If you're going to do a video on me, don't explain my appearance. It's gross and hurtful.😢 I don't mean this as a criticism of your comment because I do think it's valid too. On the long podcast she was on, she talked about how the church not only referred Jodi but the church paid her for most of her clients. It feels as though they should also be held responsible for this.
I agree! I was Founding Administrator of Counseling ministry at our local church. A few yrs prior I had cause to get hubby into counseling. Apparently I was not the only 1 to complain to head Pastor! That guy was fired fast! Our set up later was highly successful, & the programs still helping many today! But we also had accountability, & I was very selective in my referrals!
I am so impressed by Jessi. It's not easy to tell this awful story. The level of reflection and to be so articulated about it. I really hope they can and will testify when this goes to court.
It also boosts her credibility that she doesnt claim to know EVERYTHING. She admits that there are things that she does not know... while at the same time, telling her own story about what happened to her and offering insight into what she "thinks" could have happened with this case based off of her OWN personal experience. Thats 100% a reliable, credible witness and i commend her bravery for coming forward and speaking her truth! It could NOT have been easy admitting the things that happened to her at the hands of Jodi to the world.

Thank you Peter for calling out just bc Jesse is artistic and has tattoos they are not a "bad person" or "incredible". I didn't even know that was still an issue these days! Sad how much people judge. So glad this young woman has spoken out to reveal the truth of this lady tearing families apart.
Either did I I mean oh, who cares if she has tattoos? Jail tattoos you know right off the bat. She has none of those. I never judge a person on that. I wear lots of jewelry, I know people judge me on that because I overheard it from people I have worked with. It's just an expression of who I am nothing more nothing less. I retired from International Hotel and in the winter it was very slow, I would wear my Pagan jewelry become summertime I would put that jewelry up and I would not wear any religious jewelry at all. I find nothing wrong with this young lady at all listen to the words that are coming out of her mouth people that think o'hear tattoos they're not paying attention to what she is saying oh, they are not actively listening to what she has to say
The prejudice against tattoos and piercings reminds me of the scene in "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" where the lawyer rips apart the stereotyping of a woman with piercings and tattoos.
So true. Jessi literally is a well established tattoo artist from what I understand. The fact that she has been able to get on her feet, support herself economically and work in a field she loves while suffering from complex PTSD is a testament to how strong she is as a person. Huge respect.
Jessie’s story is heartbreaking and I am impressed that they have the courage to tell their story. I watched the long form interview on Mormon Stories Podcast and felt so much empathy for all the victims of Jodi. It’s frightening to think that someone in the mental health field would harm so many. 😢
What is frightening to me is the number of people who knew or suspected this but ignored it. She made it clear that this has been going on for years and years. Scary.
It’s scary that others knew and ignored it. At least they are able to tell their story and looks like should be a big part of the trial here. It’s important and I am sure there is others.
Scary that a priest has been recommending her even though the church knew at some point way way before now with all the complaints. Wouldn't be surprised if the church is the one who pays her defense even though she's wealthy.
The running up and down the hill for SIX HOURS W HER MOTHER's parents at bottom of hill to make sure she didn't escape again. Jodi, whose "addiction" is food (her excuse for being technically over weight), was at the top of the hill. She made Jessi sleep on small balcony outside in winter w "$5.00 sleeping bag," bc Jodi said she feared Jessi would try to kill her.
That’s what’s wrong with society. People want to say whether or not they believe someone based off of looks. She is being authentic, real and very vulnerable. There’s no reason to lie here
If someone lives under these horrendous, oppressed conditions it makes total sense to me that tatts and piercings to express themselves. It's a personal choice, no outside pressure. I'm a great-grandmother and I have great respect for this young lady. I believe every word she says.

Love love this comment! Just saw law and crime interview with the dad’s lawyer trying to clear his name after they saw Jesse’s but still says no comment when it comes to his kids being accused of horrible things.
@@LovelyHope2I saw the interview to, the videos will show, he's Not an innocent man in the abuse of the children. He failed his children in more ways than one.
Ruby's husband may have been threatened by jody as I have seen in another podcast. She divides couples and uses the wife to threaten the husband with molestation and the kids are taken the men.
@@bugsea54But the husband Kevin could have hired a lawyer to get visitation with his children. He did not have to move out and leave his children alone with Ruby and Jodi. Undoubtedly Kevin was manipulated, but I’ve heard nothing that indicates he did anything to protect his kids.
I saw Jessi’s long interview on a different channel. I find Jessi to be an absolutely lovey, brave, credible, and well spoken person. So many people misjudge people by the way they look. Thank you, Peter, for reminding everyone that we are not here to judge appearances. You a truly a good person. Thank you for keeping your channel a kind place.
Jesse strikes me as honest and telling the truth. I know Jesse is worried about Jodi’s ability to discredit her like she did in the past. Incredible bravery is needed to speak out against Jodi and tell the truth about the LDS church.
@@oliviaprewett6061 It is her. It is not helpful to play into people’s delusions. She can call herself whatever she wants, but no one can demand what words others use.
Jessi is a tattoo artist as a profession. The interview I watched on The Mormon Stories Podcast was so sad but very very informative. Jessi has endured so so much and has persevered and fights everyday still to overcome all the damage her aunt Jodi had done to them! I recommend watching that interview- it’s like 3 hours but Jessi has so much to share. They are very articulate and well spoken. They have reopened her abuse case from when she went to the police when finally ran away from Jodi’s house and the abuse.
Jessi’s interview with The Mormon Podcast was so moving. I listened to the almost 4 hour long segment and feel nothing but empathy and respect for this young person. ❤❤❤
Peter, the first thing I ever learned from you is not to rush to judgement. That is what so many people do on social media. I have never joined Twitter because I want no part of name calling and negativity. Your channel is a safe place for "reasonable minds to differ". You have created a culture of respect, kindness, and caring. When the occasional troll shows up they find out quickly they have no one to engage with and soon leave to find more fertile grounds. Keep being you.
It would be interesting to learn more of Jessie''s path since this all happened. Imagine becoming a compassionate, articulate, credible individual with enough backbone and grit to stand up in the spotlight to help these kids by telling this story after going through all of that?
I’m so glad Jessi had the courage & compassion for the boy to come out and speak publicly about her experiences. So much respect to her for doing this, despite it undoubtedly being stressful for her ❤
I thought there was a small chance that Ruby had been manipulated, to some degree, by Jodi …until I heard an interview with someone from Ruby’s family reveal a long standing, generational pattern of these abusive “disciplinary” methods. Now, I think Ruby and Jody (much like Chad and Lori Daybell) are like fuel and flame.
It broke my heart that the child told the guy that he ran to that…it’s his fault💔 All their victims deserve justice. Plus Jodi left the country when she thought her niece was going to sue years ago.
This is so scary and heartbreaking. The guy that went to her that was targeted by her and he lost his job, family after she made up lies and separated him from his wife and took a lot of money to “learn what she was selling” some say it is eerily similar to Ruby and her husband split but still married. Lots of patterns are there. I bet there is other people. I hope victims everywhere feel comfortable to come forward and tell their story and can heal
Thanks for your comments about how early exposure to abuse can warp perception, and not to judge how she looks. This is a survivor to be respected and believed until proven otherwise. As a survivor myself, her story rings true to me.
Everybody’s tastes are different. I am a 70 year old woman and applaud this young lady for having the courage to do to her body.what she chooses! I believe the art she has displayed on her body is beautiful, and freeing .People who are commenting :..dispute her tattoos “ …..are really kind of silly ,that’s like saying I don’t like her hairstyle, but in spite of that I will believe her. get with the times people. Oh my word, my heart goes out to this girl and Ruby’s children who were made to live with Jodi. Emotional abuse is so twisted and the absolute worst type of abuse in my opinion. Just hearing about someone else’s story of emotional abuse makes me feel panicky.
Jessi is so well spoken. Bless her heart for what she's been put thru. I can't wait for Jodi to hit the frying pan. That woman has done some horrible things to people. Time to pay the Piper
Jessi you are a HERO for speaking out. You're leading the way for the other kids (and adults now) who have been subjected to this. Thank you for your courage and bravery. Thank you for your fighting spirit. My heart breaks hearing just a small portion of what you've been through. I hope that everyone who has been a victim can start their own healing process by seeing you working through yours.
I feel the niece is extremely credible. She seems very genuine. People that may say something about tattoos/piercings/hair/whatever- it is very common for people who were in very restrictive upbringings, particularly those who may be to the point of abuse, often branch out once they have the freedom to as a way to gain and feel their own autonomy.
Thank you for your balanced commentary on these cases. Most RUclipsrs and commenters get very emotional (understandably when it comes to crimes against kids), take small clips out of context or exaggerate them. It's hard to know where opinions begin and facts end. This young lady was so well spoken and articulate. She sounds very authentic and credible to me. Her experience helps to shed light on what's really going on here. Her fear that all the blame will be placed on Ruby and Jodi's role will be overlooked makes sense. Both women (and probably the dad too) share responsibility in the abuse of these kids.
I watched an interview of another victim of Jodi’s therapy”. His name is Adam interviewed on Mormon Stories. His story makes me think that Ruby’s husband could also be a victim of all of this. His lawyer said that Ruby hasn’t allowed him to see his kids for 13 months. Ruby convinced him that she and the kids needed to be apart in order to save the kids and their marriage. I’m really glad people like Jessi are shining the light on Jodi too. May justice be served!
Kudos to her for speaking out. I hope she has been able to find some healing and happiness! Her experience is exactly what we know was happening with Ruby's kids!!!
This is so heartbreaking. Sadly, I know a young person whose Mormon family did the same things. They are suffering mentally and emotionally every day, even after years of therapy. We must find a way to protect these kids.
The only way is to bring the church down. Enough is enough. The culture is in the roots of the church. They are the ones doing the cover up, they are the ones advocating for Jodi and sending church members there to be manipulated and punished. But I doubt the police or anyone else to that matter, will take them to do justice. I really doubt.
@@jenniferfraley6546 There are good people who are Mormons, and horrible people who are Mormons. The problem is that the Mormon church protects abusers of women and children, intervenes to keep victims from reporting it, and even pressures or blames the victims in some cases. If the person goes against the church amd reports it or leaves, all their Mormon friends, family, and support system are encouraged to exclude them. There is no graceful exit, and you are either Mormon, or you are an apostate. The worst part is that both good and bad people tithe to the church, despite the fact that they have billions in investments. So good people are donating from every paycheck to support a religious institution that is greedy and supportive of abusers. It's only because I have see it with my own eyes that I am speaking out.
I think the niece interview adds so much context and background on this case. Anyone who wants to dismiss her should watch the more in-depth interview she has given. It will explain what has happened and how she ended up here today. I too am worried that Jody will escape justice because everyone is focused on the mother. I'd like to see the prosecutor explore the idea that Jody runs a semi-cult with extreme ideas and punishments. That probably won't happen because "the church" has too much power & money.
You are such a gift, Peter. I don’t comment all that much but watch you faithfully. I could list so many things that I appreciate about you….but in this video your compassion, heart, and gentle nature are almost palpable. TY so much for doing what you do. God knows the world needs more people to lead my example, as you do. ❤
I just am appalled as to something like this even occurring and it is beyond my comprehension. Justice needs to be had. Those kids and all victims of Jodi’s crazy insane therapies will need help for a lifetime…it’s so sad.
Unfortunately, hearing from local layers, it seems that this may actually be considered true, because of the Mormon beliefs and the fact that the fact that Jodi is still a recommended and endorsed psychologist.
Great interview. I appreciate the nieces honesty. So proud of her speaking out for the Franke kids. Stay strong. This isn't easy to talk out like this. This young woman is proof too that if you know who you are? You will learn how to find your true self if you win the fight. Fighting for the rights of children is one of the best forms of justice. Yes, some children can be convinced to lie. The physical damage is the proof. I do agree false charges should be prosecuted. It hurts those of us who did endure terrible abuse.

I like how you explain things in a way that ordinary people can understand, but you do it in a way that doesn't talk down or make some of us feel stupid. You've made me understand/made things clearer.
I was a person who always liked tattoos and the color black. I am a Christian and I cant tell you the amount of times I've went to church and my parents were always pulled aside by these stuck up, fake @$$holes who wanted them to know that the way i looked was problematic. I wasnt walking in with pentagrams on me. I simply like tattoos, piercings, and the color black. I can relate to being jumped on like this girl simply because of my style. I am a married mother of 3 with my own business (mobile grooming) and I love God. I also dress the way i dress. I feel for her.
The tattoos and piercings to me scream “I’m free! Finally I can do what I want. My body is mine - so xyz! “ Her words explain so much about why Jodi and Ruby were arrested. ❤️from Australia 🇦🇺.
I am so moved by this woman and my heart brakes for her.. the way she looks is in my opinion a direct result of what seh went through.. What a horror story and I hope the key words she used against her are the same as she used with the now children... I do not think they should get bail because they do not know who else is out there under their control.. Thank you for all you do.. what a complex case..

THIS is what I wanted to see so badly.. when you see something wrong you have the urge to want to correct it and make it right. This young lady is so brave and hopefully her testimony will come in because it is important. I watched the whole 3 hrs bc I needed to understand how this Jodi did what she did. Ruby’s son was publicly accused of something horrible to the whole world. This testimony not only shows what this young man had to live through but also dismantles rubys accusation. He doesnt deserve this label on top of everything he has and will go through. Thank you for showing this.
As I’m watching this I’m wondering why this lady was allowed to treat children like this over and over. I wish she could have stopped when this young woman was abused. Kudos to her for finding her voice.
Because she was not being reported as abusive by anyone. In fact she was getting promoted within the Mormon church throughout the years. She has been encouraged and supported.
I'm wondering because of the umbrella of that church that the elders stepped up and said no this is not true. One reason I don't like churches like these if you look back over the mountains of videos eight passengers I always say in the vision of God or the vision of the church they think that's the way they're going to get away with it but as we see with the two oldest ones that only works for so long that they got time these kids are damaged I have suffered so much trauma under the guise of the church IMO
@@candynickelshe was! The other survivor that talked was a young university student that was recovering from a long judicial process against a big organization for SA. She manipulated him and his young wife, there is a 5 hrs interview with him. In summary, he even ended in jail because of Jody’s accusations. Accusations similars to the ones she is saying about Ruby’s kid. He reported her, her license was suspended just for a year. The woman lied in court!! He was accused of crimes without victims, lost his career because was kicked out of his college, alienated his wife, lost his babies, she was only suspended for a year after destroying a person’s life. He says in jail he met another young man that told him a story very similar to his, at the end they found out was the same “therapist” that abused both of them. So this kid and that other victim are not even close to be the only ones that she made false legal claims. In some way, she never got processed for nothing. That is why the niece says that is good that now she chose someone with a platform, because the knowledge would reach more and she wouldn’t be able to avoid consequences.
@@candynickelOhh the worst thing, for me, that the other guy reported…He went to her recovering from that process, that was about SA he had since childhood, a big organization, with his case the state law for reporting SA changed. So this was big and fresh trauma because he had to re-live everything for the process. She told him that victims become perpetrators and sent him to a “therapy group”, when he figured out in the group, it was a group of convicted perpetrators. A victim, in a very vulnerable moment, she placed him in that position, in the middle of a group of perpetrators. He reported that, that is super malpractice, her license was suspended for a year.

I hate being "that guy," but the truth is that this isn't just “a Mormon thing.” A lot of hard-core Catholics are very similar in the abuse that Jessie describes here. Spoken from experience. Much love to Jessie in her healing, and bless her for being a voice for those kids. This is something that forever changes you and you will always need to work hard to maintain. Edit: My apologies. I failed to put quotations around “a Mormon thing” in my statement above. That was my mistake. My statement above was my response to a few comments peppered here and elsewhere that I’ve seen where others have said, outright or implied, that this is something that the Mormon faith is guilty of. This was my attempt at dispelling that. Sadly, it’s a religious psychosis thing, whatever that religion might be.
@bodil2382 completely agree! Can confirm these are not in the teachings of the church, but like Peter said, something that is good can be manipulated and leveraged to harm others. But the original good thing isn't to blame.

Jessi said the church not only knew, but sent so many people and married couples to her! They knew what was happening because people were coming forward. Jodi lost her therapist license because of what she did to Adam Steed. So horrible.
Jessie is very articulate and her insight on the tactics used by Jodi to discredit anyone who would speak out is very telling. "This is what Jodi does." Apparently Ruby Franke is using the same tactic to discredit her own children.

Discovered your channel yesterday and have subscribed. I enjoy the legal aspects you’re bringing forward. Also, did listen to most of this niece’s experience with Jodi on Mormon Stories. Unbelievable all the lives she has ruined. Adam Steed also has a lengthy interview on Mormon Stories about how Jodi ruined his life, marriage, reputation.
I found Jessi's interview to be quite believable and she's very well-spoken. By her explaining the "process" she went through with Jodi, I believe a tighter case can be built because she's basically drawn a road map leading to the crux of the belief system and intentions behind this case.
I‘m against a bail for both of them. They will try to influence/intimidate other victims, their kids, family members, clients etc. They will speak to each other. The manipulation won’t stop. They really need to be locked up until a trial. Also, I think people will try to go after them if they’re out.
they would never be awarded bail without having no contact in place. them not making bail really doesn't make any sense legally since their ability to reoffend is basically non existent with a no contact in place
@@ninastanek3388 legally, there would be no contact and the children would not be placed in a position within or even near the church so holding them without bail really doesn’t do much. you can’t just hold someone without bail because you don’t like them. there are pedophiles and rapists that are rewarded bail because they are unlikely to reoffend with certain measures put in place, there’s no point in taking a spot in jail mean for someone else. there’s enough overcrowding as is.

She admits that there are things that she does not know... while at the same time, telling her own story about what happened to her and offering insight into what she "thinks" could have happened with this case based off of her OWN personal experience. Thats 100% a reliable, credible witness and i commend her bravery for coming forward and speaking her truth!
She is awesome and I have so much respect for her just listening to her story so glad she is doing well
They are non binary 😊
This breaks my 71 year old heart. God bless her being strong and telling her story.
Yes I saw an interview with Adam. He's brave and so is Jessie

How do people even heal from this childhood abuse? This makes me so upset that these children were tortured.
We don’t! We just deal with it and through therapy
Some people go through life believing that they can trust people. Others go through life knowing they can’t.
@tammyirwin703 I am so sorry! I hope all abuse has a spotlight on it and victims are believed and protected.
It takes a lot therapy, love and support but you never fully heal from severe trauma and abuse as a child… or at least that is my personal experience.
It takes a lifetime.
Jesse strikes me as honest and telling the truth. I know Jesse is worried about Jodi’s ability to discredit her like she did in the past. Incredible bravery is needed to speak out against Jodi and tell the truth about the LDS church.

Jessi is a tattoo artist as a profession. The interview I watched on The Mormon Stories Podcast was so sad but very very informative. Jessi has endured so so much and has persevered and fights everyday still to overcome all the damage her aunt Jodi had done to them! I saw this interview (and the other interview they did) it was devastating. Have so much compassion for them ❤ so eloquent and brave.

Well said. Agree. ❤
Yes! Well said, I'm learning how to differ respectfully here also. Peter is a good teacher
It would be interesting to learn more of Jessie''s path since this all happened. Imagine becoming a compassionate, articulate, credible individual with enough backbone and grit to stand up in the spotlight to help these kids by telling this story after going through all of that?
So glad she is speaking out! Bless her shattered heart ❤️ Thanks for your heartfelt coverage of this Peter!
I’m so glad Jessi had the courage & compassion for the boy to come out and speak publicly about her experiences. So much respect to her for doing this, despite it undoubtedly being stressful for her ❤
I am too. It was evil for Ruby and Jodi to throw that child under the bus and now their claim has been discredited thank God.
yes, very strong person! i hope life is going well for jessi and i hope this helps with the healing process.
what a remarkable and resilient young woman. she is so articulate when expressing this awful abuse.
I certainly hope the detectives and prosecutors are aware of the possibility of her fleeing out of the Country…

Jessi’s a tattoo artist! It’s what they do for a living…so of course they have lots of tattoos and piercings! I think they’re really pretty.

Please do not lump all Mormons the same.

@@candynickelThis young lady just said she reported it, but she was ignored.
I'm wondering because of the umbrella of that church that the elders stepped up and said no this is not true.

It's not a Mormon thing, it's a power and money-thing. Sadly the power of religion is misused yet again by power-hungry people.
@bodil2382 completely agree! Can confirm these are not in the teachings of the church, but like Peter said, something that is good can be manipulated and leveraged to harm others. But the original good thing isn't to blame.
Not a Mormon thing but... it is consistent across conservative religious communities, orthodox Jewish, orthodox Catholic, hyper observant Muslim.

Love that you're bringing up not judging people. You're a good human, Peter.
