Hey Matt, this is a cool feature that you’re using for portraits. This would work flawlessly for any product photography. As far as portraits, it would be amazing if Lightroom let us export the mask it creates with its mask subject feature. I feel like Lightroom’s masks are always better than what Photoshop generates with selecting subjects.
That’s an interesting idea! I don’t know if it’ll work or not because that typically works when two layers are very close to the same, but these would not be. In theory they are because of the outline, but I’m not sure if Photoshop would read that. I’ll give it a try! Thanks for watching and support.
Hey Matt - I took your Advanced Compositing class through Summit Workshops a couple years ago - we learned how to do these shots with 4 lights and a black background - just wondering which method you prefer? Thanks Matt!
@@MattHernandez yes sir! I subscribed specifically to see your blending method on this project. I’ll definitely log back in and find it! I appreciate your help!
Matt, you showed the Mask settings on your background light, but what about the main light? Do you set that to Mask 1, or just not set Mask at all on that light?
Sorry I should have been more clear about that. You set “All” to the number of totally lights, in this case 2. Then you set one of them to sequence 1 and the other to sequence 2.
@@MattHernandez That makes perfect sense, and probably everyone else was clear on that fact except for me :-) Thank you so much for clarifying, though!

Yeah honestly I’ve thought the same thing! Thanks for watching brother. Hope all is well!
Great video - didn't know the FJ400 did that
Thank you! Now you know!
Awesome job as always Matt
I appreciate that!
Nice overview....How about using "Align Layers" when you get both images into PS? Might help to nail the alignment unless the model moved a lot.

Awesome! It really depends. This one works well if done correctly and saves time.
Matt, you mentioned finishing up the video on your Patreon page, but I am not seeing the video on your Patreon. Am I missing it?
Yes it’s on there. Should be the latest one. Do you currently subscribe on Patreon?

Did you end up getting the a9iii?
