In the Mortal Kombat Legends Battle of the Realms movie, Liu Kang defeated Shao Kahn in a masterful way. Not to mention that this kombat was personal for Liu Kang due to the deaths of Raiden and Kung Lao.

I like that in MK2, Shao Kahn’s hits echo louder than Liu Kang’s. For the limited tech that was available, they did a great job with making Shao Kahn feel like he’s hitting you a lot harder than you are.

When he was a zombie Lui Kang I kind of wished they would have him move like a zombie, and start using his chains on his wrist as weapons then start fighting normal or give him anew move sets.
Mk9 was the last good depiction of Shao Kahn before MK11 & MK11 ruined him. Gave him a raspy voice with dragon features. his mk9 voice made him more intimidating.

I'm really sad Shao Kahn's massive temple didn't come back in MK9. The Entire MK3 section of the remake was still amazing but damn it would have been cool to see it in the background of all the arenas just like in the original MK3.
You can see how Mortal Kombat fell off after the graphics and gameplay of MK3. While the 3D gameplay might have been more versatile, you can see the intensity and difficulty of defeating an end boss such as Kahn were way higher in the earlier games.
