You sold me @ "it's kinda like a starfish... it doesn't have a brain, but it gits thru life anyway" lol. Thank you for your concise information, I've been wrenchin since the 70s and picked up every bit of what you put down in this tutorial. Ill be gittin ahold of ya'll soon. I just picked up a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 5.9 L with the 47RE and its gonna need a service..... engine is strong and running smooth on all cylinders but the transmission takes a moment to come on line. 😢. Thank you again, Chris

Wow this is fantastic info and very well delivered. He directly states the issue they are attacking, with a very smooth non jumbled answer with a total non cocky but confident answer, he again directly states their methods of attack. I appreciate how they mentioned how other companies do things, never criticized, but definitely defined how the way they do it is superior. I look forward to testing one of these valve bodies on my up and coming build. Cheers fellas thanks for the informative video and I look forward to doing business with you!

Thank you so much I looked all over the internet to find why my 47RE transmission did not want to shift into third gear after I rebuilt it so I started to take apart the valve body and the first cover that I took off I didn't even know what it was for but behind there was the broken overdrive accumulator spring

I have never seen and heard a tutorial like this before. I have learned a lot to day from you. A straight up no BS education on what is wrong and how to fix that problem from an expert who takes pride in his profession, a very rare commodity these days. My 04 dodge cummins trans is not up shifting properly now I have a good understanding. Sounds like I need one of your valve bodies. Do you ship to Canada? Thank you very much.

@@NextGenDrivetrainInc Thank you so much for this video! I'm from Houston Texas but now live in Dnepropetrovsk Ukraine and I brought my Dodge 3500 Dually 4X4 with me and I need one of your valve bodies. Fortunately for me you ship to Ukraine!!! And the shipping is actually reasonable I would however like to avoid the core charge being that it would cost at least $240 to ship to you. I will order this valve body in a couple of weeks and again thanks for the video.

I've got say make it sound good but coming from someone who has worked on countless 46 47 REs and having 3 myself from my experience the Accumulator Springs do break i have seen a lot of them broken and the customer didn't even notice it the only Symptom you will get from any accumulator Spring breaking is either a harder or softer shift never seen a spring cause over heating now bad seals On the accumulators will cause a lost gear or overheating

    I'm having "flares"?
1st to 2nd gear before 30 mphs at 1 to 2k rpms. Then after that it's smooth shifting 3rd & on. It's so annoying taking off at red lights and stop signs cause I have to fiddle the throttle so the next gear can catch/shift. Idk what's wrong.
Edit: welp guess he covered it @ 7:50 cause that's exactly it.

a malleable plate might seal better in an imperfectly flat unit.

We ended up designing a bunch of plates that are ultra malleable to crush and contour to imperfections in the casting surface. You were ahead of your time!
