      LOL. We used the insults on each other and recess and then we broke down laughing because, it's stupid and they are funny.
      I miss this sense of humor where people weren't so pathetic, weak-willed, and easily offended.

      They literally tried canceling married with children and not even for the jokes but for the themes involved.. they ignored the attempt to cancel them... that is the only real difference... you can easy make z show lime this today upu just have to so what they did and ignore the karen-critics.

    Ed O'NEILL (Al Bundy) actually played college football for Youngstown State as a defensive lineman. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers competing against the likes of Mean Joe Green and L.C. Greenwood. He didn't make the team but he became friends with Terry Bradshaw, who made several appearances on Married With Children. 🤫🤔🤣🥴

    It’s unfortunate that we live in an age where people can’t handle that humor. In fact, that show arrived at the end of a similar age where that comedy wouldn’t have been tolerated for the polar opposite faction.     Married with children was made during the time where there was a perfect family show that made us irregular families feel inadequate. When this show came along, it made the imperfect families feel alot better for a family that we could relate to.

      I remember once in high school, we had an annual boys vs girls rally. The girls would take it easily, but someone got the idea to introduce the boys to NO MA'AM, and I'm happy to say we scored one for the brotherhood that year.

    The script had all those complaints about his wife, but Kate Seagal decided to wear tight outfits and nice makeup making a contrast with what was written, but the original idea of the script was not showing him complaining while having a nice life and a beautiful wife, just Kate is a beautiful woman who wanted to portray a wife in a nicer style than the script.

    I love it guys, the shows you're bringing here, from my past! We live in such a "woke", "say my pronoun" environment now, just things that we could watch 10 years ago, would never fly now! My favorite show from back in the day was Sanford and Son, and yes, I'm white, lol! But half that shit, that Fred would say to Aunt Esther, you could never get away with today... But only in syndication! "Hey I'm going to roll your face around in some dough, and make some Gor***** cookies! He was a true treasure! 😂

    The days when we weren't artificial and scared, looking around first to see who might be watching before we laughed. We just laughed and were happy for at least that little moment. Happy was nice. (It still is.)

    People today don't realize that the best comedy has a foundation in reality. Back when this show was popular, Obesity was much rarer than it is today. More to the point, most people were okay with the fact that savage jokes like those often helped people to realize when they had a problem and motivated them to change. "Fat acceptance" has led obesity to become a major medical heath crisis today.

    I always thought it was funny that "The Dodge" was actually a Plymouth Duster. So even though it was referred to as "The Dodge", it wasn't actually a Dodge, but still a Mopar so close 🤣

    You gotta realize, this was basically on the tail end of the wholesome Cosby Show's run and came out of nowhere. It was frickin hilarious the first time too. We even had Al Bundy conversations during the week and laughed our asses off until the next one.

    I absolutely loved this show growing up because of how perfect Ed O'Neill's delivery was on the insults and jokes. Surprisingly even now as an adult the jokes hold up even though they are cheesy lol 😂.

    I was born in 1980 and my parents didn't allow my brother or me to watch MWC when it first came on, yet somehow we did. When the show went off the air, I was a teenager, and they didn't care by then. My mother, brother and I still quote the show regularly, and my dad also did until he died.

    We were lucky enough that this was shown here in the UK in the late 1980's. Triggers happy memories of those times. I have my issues with one or two aspects of American culture, but I have to say the US knocks it out the park regarding half-hour sitcoms - Sgt Bilko, MASH, Mork&Mindy, Taxi, Cheers, Friends, Married With, 3rd Rock, Scrubs, Big Bang, etc etc

    This was an interesting show. This show came out within a year of FOX Broadcasting being created. A couple of years later the Simpsons. They seem to be looking to tear the lid off of what could be gotten away with in the late 80's and into the 90's. It's kind of funny thinking of Fox as being cutting edge, but they were.
