  • We all have fears, whether those are fears of the dark, being alone, or being nothing. We tend to be afraid of what we don’t know, like death. This can be a source of confusion, anxiety, and fear for people. Click here bit.ly/3tUOxa4 to learn more about what happens after we die.
    Before we came to Earth we lived with God. When we came to Earth we received our physical bodies. When we get sick or old, our time on Earth comes to an end, but our spirits live on. All those that have passed on before us, such as our family and friends, will be there with us. One of the most glorious parts of God’s plan is that we will be reunited with our perfect resurrected body. How is this possible? you might ask. Through Jesus Christ’s Resurrection He was able to overcome death so all of us will be resurrected too. This is so we can live with God and the ones we love forever.

    Questions from an atheist about souls:
    1- Why can't we remember existing before we came to live in our biological body?
    2- If the soul survives death that means biological destruction cannot damage the soul - so why does brain damage cause changes in one's personality or their cognitive abilities?
    3- If we have souls that are immune to biological destruction, how can a surprise hit to the head cause someone to go unconscious?
    4- If we are the soul then why do we need sleep? Why would a soul need rest if it is not constrained by biological requirements?

    • @gabrielgrand9253
      @gabrielgrand9253 4 года назад +22

      I think those are excellent questions and i'd love to give an answer to them. I'll do my best and as of now, i am a missionary in training.
      1. This is because, when we were sent to earth, we went through the veil. Now this essentially means that we forgot everything about our life before earth. But why? Because we are here on earth for different reasons and one is to test our faith.
      2. These 3 next questions i can answer with just one answer. First, and as heard in the video, he uses the word spirit. Now, we believe that the spirit together with our body, is the soul. Your spirit is just as much you as your body is.
      We are also on earth to learn and grow, and this is needed if we wanna become like God, which was what we all desired in our life before earth, as spirits. In order to learn and grow, God gave us these bodies and the struggles that come with them. This is why damaging our body will result in personality change, or goin unconscious, or needing sleep. We gotta learn to care for ourselves.
      I haven't given you the biological explanation to these questions though im sure if you research and get wise enough, or ask God, then you will recieve a scientific answer (if you can say that 😅) however these questions might not help you get closer to Christ which i believe we should be striving for.
      Im aware the answers i gave might not be perfect, or may have raised other question. Please just ask away, and i'll answer 😃 take care

      I liken the biological body to me riding in a vehicle. The vehicle is the enclosure I'm housed in. I can hit something and break a wheel and the car will sputter along slowly, or not at all. I'm still intact inside, I want to go faster but the car won't let me. The car and it's condition is not dependent or related with my personal ability to think and believe, but if the outer shell of my body is damaged enough it will effect how I can communitate, learn, and move. When we return to God after death all those physical limitations are removed and we are essentially freed again. Each of us has a different mission in life. One's mission may be to learn through physical challenges, another is through mental challenges, one not either but financial challenges. No matter what method we all learn and experience and grow. The important thing is how we react to these challenges. That's what God cares about. Do we handle them in a grateful respectful way becoming of a child of royal lineage that will potentially inherit all that God has. Thankfully Jesus is the judge of all of us, and he takes into account those challenges we were given, and how we handled them. His mercy is infinite in depth as well as breadth.

    When one dies, whether righteous or evil, ALL will return to God who made them BUT then, those who are righteous, will enter into a state of peace, joy and rest (this is paradise).
    The unrighteous will be cast out into outer darkness where there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
    The spirits of the dead both righteous and the unrighteous remain in this state until the resurrection.

    When we get resurrected, and all of our family and friends are there - do we actually end up with the same family (souls) or do we start a new life, where we don't know them?

      We believe that families can be together forever. That's why we have temples. We believe that marriages that take place in the temple, or are done by proxy on behalf of our ancestors after they die, last into the next life. Same with relationships between parents and children and other ancestors. I have faith that when I die, my grandparents will be waiting on the other side for me and I will know them and they will know me and we will have a joyous reunion and never have to be separated by death again. God loves us and wants us to be happy for eternity, and part of that happiness is being able to be with the people we love!

    Where in the Bible says that death is part of God's plan for us? (0:33 on the video). The Bible says that death is the last enemy to be destroyed (1Co. 15:26). Death came as a result of sin (Rom. 5:12),and it's the wages of sin (Rom. 6:23). Right?

    • @jeffersonchima8604

      The death that was being referred to in those passages is spiritual death not physical death. These are two different things!

    • @2_Pe_3_12
      @2_Pe_3_12 Год назад

      Death is not part of God's original plan (Gen. 1 and 2). Moreover, God warned Adam (Gen. 2;16-17) against it. 1 Co.15:26, Rom. 5:12 and many other verses speak of death (physical and spiritual if you will). In Rev. 21 and 22, We read about how God restores everything to His original plan, which includes "no more death" (Rev. 21:4). The Bible teaches that one can be physically alive, but spiritually dead (e.g.: Eph. 2:1,5) and vice versa (Matthew 22:32). When Adam and Eve sinned (Genesis 3:7), one can say that they died spiritually. No wonder they hid from their Creator. If not taken care of, spiritual death ends in eternal death.
      But my point is that nowhere in the Bible says that death was or is part of God's plan for us.

      God created our mortal bodies that would eventually die. He also sent Jesus Christ to overcome death and be resurrected. I don’t know if you’ll directly find anything in the Bible that says God’s plan is for us to die, but He created us and we all die and His plan for us was to have a Savior to overcome death. Hope that makes sense, that’s just how I think about it.

    • @2_Pe_3_12
      @2_Pe_3_12 6 месяцев назад

      Death is the result of distrusting (and as a result, disregarding) God's word. He warned Adam about death as a result of eating of a of a particular tree (Gen 2:16-17). Death was not part of God's original plan. It is the result of sin. True, Jesus came to fulfill the Gospel promise of Gen 3:16 says. Trusting Him allows Him to restore us to His original purpose, eternity.

      MAMA LOVE. The Bible isn't the only word of God. We get the complete picture from all the words of God.
      The Bible tells us God knew (not knew about) Jeremiah before Jeremiah was conceived in his mother's womb.
      Job says something about morning stars which we know from other parts of scripture were our spirits.
      Revelation 12 describes our pre-earth life (using symbolism and analogy). The devil fought against Michael and his angels before this earth was formed. That is how the devil was here to tempt Adam and Eve. We had faith in Jesus Christ back then.
      Jesus was asked whether the man born blind was born that way because of sin. That question was obviously accusing sin of happening before a person was born. Jesus was willing to correct errors on His disciple's part. Jesus never told them there was no pre-earth life.

      Sure! A few examples: in the Old Testament, when God tells the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5 that "“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee." In 1 Peter 1:20, the apostle Paul teaches that Jesus was foreordained to be our Savior "before the foundation of the world, and in Romans 8:28-29 Paul teaches that there are people God "called according to his purpose, for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate." Hebrews 12:9 refers to God as the "Father of our spirits," and Ecclesiastes 12:7 preaches "the spirit shall return unto God," with the word "return" suggesting our spirits were with Him once before.
      Examples talking about death are very numerous. A few examples include in 1 Peter 3:19 and 1 Peter 4:6 when Paul teaches that after His death, Jesus preached to "them that are dead." Revelation 2:10 teaches God commands us to be "faithful unto death" and 1 Corinthians 15:22 teaches "for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." Isaiah 25:8 teaches Christ will "swallow up death in victory"

    What say the Scriptures concerning these things? David declares that man is not conscious in death. “His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” Psalm 146:4. Solomon bears the same testimony: “The living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything.” “Their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun.” “There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10.

      Juan you are forgetting all the spirits cast out by Jesus. He conversed with them, they were intelligent and certainly conscious. Satan is a spirit, he tried to temp Christ. Peter said why do we do baptisms for the dead if they rise not at all? Meaning we do baptisms for the dead, that would be a waste if they rise not at all. But they do rise, so he is saying that's why we do it, for those that have not had a chance to accept. Now if we did baptisms for sleeping people what purpose would that serve? They are alive, thinking, feeling people, repenting of their misdeeds and waiting for their chance to accept a proxy baptism so they can covenant with Jesus and receive a remission of their sins, just like any living person who has had the chance to hear and accept Christ in this life. It would be a very sinister God who only gave the chance to a few people while living. of the 250+ billion people who lived on the earth since it's creation, what percentage has heard about Christ? He gives all the chance whether living or dead. That's ultimate mercy and part of his grand plan!

      The apostle Peter tells us that during the three days Christ's body was in the tomb, his spirit body went to the spirit prison and preached to disobedient persons who had lived in the days of Noah. (Peter 3:18-20) In chapter 4:6 Peter tells us the reason Christ did this was "to preach the gospel to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live in the spirit according to the will of God." In other words all persons who have ever lived will have the opportunity before the day of judgment to hear, understand, and accept or reject the gospel of Jesus Christ thus making God a just God. No one will be able to say, "I didn't know; I didn't understand; I'm not accountable; God's judgments are not just."

      Blue. That Psalm isn't teaching us about spirits. It is focusing on the physical body. The physical thoughts do cease.
      Those verses from Ecclesiastes are focused on what happens under the sun. That is an idiom for our physical lives and what we can observe without physical senses. The physical brain does lose all consciousness. The dead don't own any property. A physical body in the grave gets no work done.
