Holy crap! She STILL SOUNDS LIKE SHE DID IN THE 1970s! A lot of musicians when they get older, they lose the impact of their voice. She's been truly blessed. I love her.
First of all...how cool is she! There are so many musicians that are trying to come back that do not remotely sound like they did! I am so impressed! Good on her!
Simply amazing at her age. That is COMPLICATED playing/singing mixed tempos live like that! Just awesome! Flying Cowboys changed my life musically....brilliant album. RIP to Walter Becker the producer...
Just read in the New York Times 8/1/21 Chuck E. died recently. What a tribute. What a song. Performed with such silky smooth sass and infectious magic. We still love this song.
What a voice, talent. Damn. She wrote this song in the late 1970’s. Real song about someone she knew, barely knew. The Song Gods were good to her that day. Classic. The first time she played and sang this song, it was on the sidewalk, in front of a bar for the guy and girl she wrote it about.
Not only is that voice completely intact and with really a nice mature roundness to it, but that's some awesome guitar work. Her playing suggests the whole arrangement, which is pretty complex to begin with. Great stuff Rickie.
God bless this beautiful unique sound from the 70s.keep going and I know we are little bit older but this song followed me and keeps that smile on my face.
That right there my friend is one sexy talented full-on woman! And always has been! True art never diminishes, just like true love! Coincidence? Yeah, just like the very essence of life...guilty as charged! I am love!
I loved watching this! I've just watched her original video a few times after seeing her article in PEOPLE magazine and was impressed. And now to see and hear this I am a bigger fan. Awesome talent!
She suffered badly from secondaray smoke inhalation, Due to the type of venues she appeared at: Never could understand why BBC and other radio stations ignored her great talent.
I was given the LP with this track as first song by a friend when I worked for BMW, (1978) I have sine purchased every LP I could find: I have seen her live, once at The Royal Festval Hall on the South Bank; and then at Camden Lock, the later suited her music better but she had to keep asking people not to smoke: I have three signed copies, one album a special ten inch EP which I believe to be a limited ediction:
She still has the magic! Thanks for posting!

It's about Chuck Weiss and she knew him well.

I wonder if Chuck E’s still around to hear this
I saw an obituary for him not too long ago that linked back to this song. I googled but couldn’t find anything about his passing.
@@surfmanx796 oh no… that’s sad :(
R.I.P. Chuck E. Weiss
Sounds like it's still in the same key. Or pretty damn close!
