Sometimes it's so cozy I don't want to leave! But also I never get anything of my own work done because there's just so many things to look at and do hahaha!
your mum bringing you fruit and your dad giving you the pen you loved as a kid -- such small but special gestures of love always make me emotional 😭❤ and omggg the rug!! love the colours you chose so much
Getting things that are from mom and dad for Christmas is so precious. Like the pen you used to like and play with... so nostalgic. I remember I got to borrow mom's school skirt and could just randomly wear it for some time. It was such a precious experience and I will remember it forever.
I've enjoyed these vlogs so much. I'm going to miss them so much. Every video was amazing. I loved all the little life lessons in every video. They're all things I can apply in my life.
Tif, you're doing awesome job on vlogmas videos. I'm so proud of your father doing ceramics. I did ceramic since my highschool years. Happy holidays 🎄⛄🎄
One of the main reasons I love this channel is because of the priority that is talking about the mental state of an artist, the importance of routine, mental and physical health, as well is just the well being of an artist in certain environments. With that in mind I wanted to ask your thoughts on my situation. I’ve been under a weird rut for almost two years now, it’s been almost impossible to come up with ideas for my art, I’m drawing the same things over and over again, and constantly turning to the internet for ideas and then end up copying things directly. compared to how I used to feel about art it doesn’t make me as happy as a hobby. I’ve thought about quitting but I’ve always wanted it to turn into a career because it’s all I feel that I’m good at. I’ve had breaks, tried to improve my mental health, talked to other artists, done research, nothing seems to work and it’s really bringing me down. Tell me… what are your thoughts for my predicament?
Hi, Scribble, as someone who is also going through a rut in my creativity: what seems to help me are three things - regularly writing morning pages from the book Artist's way (I also love the idea of weekly date and weekly walk from authour's other book). If you are interested in the topic, search for Tiffany's older videos, she did the whole 12 week programme. Another thing is intentionalu breaking the routine - trying materials I am unfamiliar and bad with, working in analog instead of in digital, limitng the colours I can use ... And the last thing is challenging myself - coming up with the idea that I want to create something (for me it works if this is a series) and fullfiling the challenge, no matter if I think it is bad. For example: 1 will draw a series of 10 little pictures all including cats etc. Also, taking care of my health in general, and that's what you are alreday doing. I am not where I want to be, but I see some progress. All the best to you!
thank you for your transparency regarding the delay on the preorders, things happen beyond our control and you shouldnt feel bad about that. I look forward to my order whenever it arrives
I hope you continue to look for a power source for your old laptop, sometimes you can bring them to a repair shop and they have old cords or you can order a cord on ebay etc. Its always fun to see where you left off on a old laptop. very nostalgic ! Loved the rug! I would love to find a place like that to do the same makes so much more sense to begin with than buying tons of supplies...
Wow I love hearing about your dad! I'm "starting" my journey in my 30s (I've always enjoyed being creative but never had a direction and would drop hobbies quickly, but I am back in school and pivoting my career path entirely.... I'm choosing a path this time instead of going down one I stumbled into) I love hearing about older adults who pick up their drawing/creativity later in life. It gives me hope that it's not something you *have* to have been doing your whole life, and be super passionate about from the moment you remember. Also I hope this isn't strange to say, but your dad has beautiful hands. They *look* like they can create beautiful things. The rug really was the star of the show though. That is adorable! Looks so plush too, I would wanna put my feet on that first thing in the morning it looks cozy.
I’ve been attempting to work with more glass projects within my art since I’m an entomologist and typically pin insects. I’m testing the waters working with floral displays and honestly it’s exactly what I needed to get out of this weird art funk I’ve been in. But I realized my mental health has not been where it needs to be these last few months so trying out new things has been very therapeutic. ✨
if its a usb plug hole you should be able to use any usb cable. Or they sell cables on ebay for pretty cheap, most are pretty universal. You just have to know the type of plug
Future reference: mounting tape could be a good option for putting stuff on the wall. I used 3m mounting tape to hang a traditional silk lantern on my ceiling and it has hold up for years. Not super positive with the rug backing if it’ll work as well though.
Your families home is so cozy, I can imagine how easy it is to want to be creative there.
