- Davenport Gateway is the first chapter in a seven part series that transitions from the Troops/Cops parody into the more mockumentary style as we join a patrol squad from the Imperial Urban Army on their final assignment for the day. Not a job for the lighthearted, these hardened soldiers put their lives on the line as they clean up the dark streets and dangerous corridors of Davenport Gateway.

I just discovered I.M.P.S and my god is it incredible. From things like Peter Cullen's narration giving the entire show gravitas, to the little things like the Star Tours sound playing before an announcement aboard the ship is made.

since Disney now owns Star Wars, Alien, and Predator... suddenly seeing a Xenomorph and a Yuatja here doesn't feel that far fetched.
They had the guy who originally did the vocals for the predator on the project for narration. Why wouldn’t they have a yautja?

I was like, "Oh cool, a new IMPS vid!" Then I was like, "Wait, I saw this already." But, I still watched the whole vid again, it's that good.

Why can't more shows and movies be like this anymore? You're so patient with setting the tone, the environment and the characters for a truly enjoyable experience.
These are still excellent, and the sheer time, effort and passion that's in it really comes through. Can't go unappreciated!!

The attention to military detail and jargon is GREAT - very well done! I like how this series brings back into mind what stormtroopers should really be like - feared enemies and well organized enforcers of the empire. The bickering in the back of the squad and how cool the female commander handles the situation are too good to be true ;-) Only curious things are: Boba had a clash with predators? Aaaaand: WHAT exactly did the rebels transport there??? :-D
I have always remembered the term "IMPS" and i check back here every 4-6 months. I'm always disappointed there isnta new chapter but my heart will skip a beat once Chapter 3 is dropped! Can't wait!

This is the Star Wars story we always needed and never got., instead we got from Disney the durian fruit equivalent of a movie., not just once but multiple times. This is closer to the actual movie from the empires side of the story, and this is parsecs better than what we have recently watched on the big screen., and the real shame of it is this is a fan film and it's better done in terms of story than anything of the House of Mouse has put out recently in terms of Star Wars.. and the team leader in this, brings back memories of my first supervisor as a member of a loss prevention team for a department store who had her exact same personality but underneath all that snarkiness was a really funny person who really cared about her team., who would go to the wall for them if necessary and we did the same for her. I'm retired now and when I saw this she was one of the first people I thought about.
Hahahahaha.... as soon as I heard Peter Cullen's voice, my jaw hit the floor and I got goose bumps! I have not even watched the video yet... and I am already giddy!!

When the Relentless hyperdrive opens the conduit to hyperspace I always am in awe due to its beauty and music.

I mean this as a compliment, this reminds me of those vhs tapes in the 90s of like "Fire trucks!" that were just like 30 minutes of facts of how fire trucks worked and fire department procedure. I love it so much.

Will never forget the impact the intro to this had on me, when I finally got the cash together to buy a Forgeworld Mars Pattern Baneblade I made sure it ended up with a graph on the side inspired by the ATAT at the start, still after all these years my favourite 40k vehicle I ever did, thanks for the insperation guys.

Quite possibly the most epic beginning of a fan film ever. The voiceover and soundtrack are sublime. I remember watching this is high school... I am now 37. 🤕

It might be worth taking the original finished edit output file of this, and running it through one of those A.I. upscale programs / filters. They have gotten astonishingly good.
Once the series has finished, might go back and do an upscale.

Yes, some of them are the 501st but the main patrol squad are Blacksheep!

I watched IMPS all of the time as a kid and I'm still wondering... WHERE TF DID PETER CULLEN COME IN? I mean making this must have cost dozens of thousands of dollars at least, right? How tf did they pay Peter Cullen?
That's one of the big questions for the ages.
I believe I read somewhere before that the creator or somebody who worked on this series had previously worked along with Peter Cullen on another project, and that's how they got in touch. Although take my words with a grain of salt, I'm not 100% sure.

i usually avoid funny stormtrooper videos because of the dead stormtroopers cant aim joke or the imperials suck joke but this is probably the only content that has potrayed as funny without downplaying their competence

Full HD re-release when?
These were shot in SD, as HD didn't exist at the time of filming. There is a plan to uprez the first 2 chapters eventually, but effort is being put into getting the rest of the show done first. Ch 3 and beyond will be HD.
Still, you could upload this again with less compression artifacts. It looks awful in RUclips but I'm sure I've seen this in better quality.
You might have seen it in higher quality on google video back in the day, that was where I saw it. I had a better version of it on my now dead laptop, that didn't compress as badly.

No, there would have been something physical running between them. I think it's just the limits of the software that was used in that episode and the likely newness of the creators.@@Truck_person

The plan is to do an AI uprez of both chapters 1 and 2, then rerelease both. But right now, finishing chapters 4 and 5 are taking precedence.

Those helmets are actually modified with eyes a bit wider and closer together. Gives a very good view and has a meaner look to it.
