      Figure 160 town 100 HWY Charge ranges from 90 mins to 4 hours. The battery is good for around 300000 miles and the motor goes forever.

      @@thorstambaugh1520 i'm laughing so hard at that 300,000 mile range estimate. let's try 20,000 miles before needing to replace the $4000 battery. but the belts break around 3000 miles. they're not expensive though and easy to replace (besides the point). EVs so far are selling on the intrigue of their performance and "I never have to touch the engine and what I will touch is easy to do so" unicorn chase.

    • @francisgaliegue6645
      @francisgaliegue6645 4 года назад

      @@twrcrew8852 that's no unicorn chase at all, that's the reality. The number of Teslas out there with mileage in the 100k miles is already impressive, and at that point they don't even lose 10% of their capacity (more like 5%). And yes, the motors do last forever.
      My own EV has 106000 km after 3 years and the only thing I've had to change were tyres and wipers. That's it. Not a single mechanical problem to report. With EVs, that's the norm, not the exception.

      @@francisgaliegue6645 nice try using kms to make it look bigger. but that's only 60,000 miles. Most dodge/chryslers will make it that far and they're the least reliable vehicles on the planet.

  • @Miata822
    @Miata822 5 лет назад +6

    Good review, but it had a couple errors. Horsepower is 110, not 140. Not really a big deal because it is the wads of instant torque that is this bike's party piece. The Standard and Premium models have the same battery. The Premium has a charger that is twice as fast. I hope you get a dry day ride. Handling is solid for heavy-ish bike, similar to a Speed Triple. The acceleration on dry roads is something else altogether. Try it with the TC turned off. EDIT: I looked on the website and didn't find an article.

    I truly love the concept mainly due to such little maintenance. BUT projective studies made on going all electric everywhere have shown that to provide the power to charge the batteries requires massive amounts of some fuel to burn at the source. So the environmental is not included in my love for the machine. Everything made now is really just experimental, the weight, the charge time, the distance just isn't there yet, you would be hard pressed to set off coast to coast on/in any electric vehicle. That will change and within a few years we will be at a point these can be seen as mainstream. I'd love to ride one though.

    Check the price of a replacement battery before you buy one of these electric motorcycles please.I would say the price of a replacement battery here, but you would not believe me. I will repeat that, you will not believe how much a replacement battery costs... I saw a sticker on a zero in one of the videos that points out that the battery has a five year warranty. That’s fine, but what about after five years?
    Ask the owner of the dealership what the cost of a replacement battery is. If that person tells you that a replacement battery cost is under $20,000, get that person to put it in writing, have it witnessed, and notarized... $20,000 is not the cost of a replacement battery. You will not believe how much they cost. It is jaw-dropping..
    I am sure that the cost of the batteries will come down as the popularity of electric motorcycles increases over the years. At least I hope so.
    A friend of mine has zero that he let the batteries go to low before he charged them. He could not get the batteries to recharge, he called and spoke with technicians at zero, they talked him through through routine of charging, they were talked him through a checklist, they told him his batteries are junk and he needs a new battery. When he find out the cost of a replacement battery, he searched the Internet for other ways to bring the battery back to life, he went on blogs for the zero, he spoke to electrical engineers, he tried everything, it’s been over a year now, his zero sits in the corner of his garage without a battery. He’s trying to sell the zero as is, or he is going to part it out.
    Anyone considering buying an electric anything, check the cost of the replacement battery first...

    If I need to get around town, I'd rather go for an electric bicycle with a removable battery that I can take inside with me for charging. Speed limit in my city is 25mph, which a bicycle is more than good for. For weekends, I typically do 200-600 spirited highway miles in offroad mountainous roads, so this motorcycle is absolutely useless there with no guarantee of a charging station and 80 minute charge times.
