I wasn't sold until the awesome growl from Zee at the end of the video. Joking aside this game does look good for my group. I will be adding this one to the wish list. Thanks for the video.
I don't understand why they complain that much about the name of the game. I don't know if they realize that many American games keep their name in english in other countries as well...
Well in Patchwork you also have an economic aspect, which to me is what makes the game really interesting, it's not just Tetris! In Feast for Odin is kinda the same, because the more you cover, the more resourses and coins you get during the game, I didn't play Cottage Garden yet, I've only seen the review. Honestly I really like this Bear Park game and I think I'm gonna buy it soon because I really like tiles placing "tetris" games, and this looks really easy, fast, essential, pick a tile, place a tile, more or less :) But I don't think I'm gonna get rid of Patchwork, even tho I have to say, my friends don't like it that much... xD so maybe we would end up not playing it anymore, idk, we'll see :D
Yay! I finally bought a game on my own cognizance before it got a Zee Garcia stamp of approval (or polar bear roaring). I am officially a gamer gurrl now! ;p
Picked this up at Origins with my "knight of catan" or whatever they were calling it now, after only 1 play through, I was for sure channeling Zee then.
This is on my list to play and I get the feeling I'm going to really like it for all the reasons Zee described. I came to those conclusions myself. haha
Does Tom always get first dibs on games? :P Seems like Zee loves it enough to get it, but also looks like a great family weight game, and since Tom has 700 more kids than Zee . . . :D
Usually yes, but there is the added incentive that all three like slightly different genres, so it is easier to "distribute" games - smaller, lighter games usually go to Zee, meatier and miniature games to Sam and the middle-field usually to Tom. Ekcettera. :)
Good review and the reasons why I bought it as soon as it had came out. Also, I thought the title was untranslated to make a pun, "bear n' park," which is most likely wrong but funny to me.
Great review guys. Love the game, agree both with Zee and Sam. Its really a "feelgoodgame" and the artwork could have been slightly better on the boards. Really kills patchwork for me
I loved the game, but the end goal of 'first person who completely covers their park triggers the end of the game' really confused us because we reached a point where no one could completely cover everything and there were no legal moves left on anyone's park. On BGG, it seemed very shocking to the creators that this could happen.
Jesse Whitehead ... but why do they have the danish version and how did they read the rules. I know that Sam loves vikings but I didn't know that he could read dansh.

I don't understand all the hype this game gets. I mean, it's a fine game, don't get me wrong, but I don't think that justifies some rude comments I've read (not particularly in this video). I've read some comments in other videos trashing other tile-laying games, because apparently this one should be the ONLY one everyone plays. If you love this game better than others of its kind, that's fine, but no need to attack each other, you know XD I think which tile-laying game other people like/prefer is up to them, isn't it? Let's just have fun playing games :) I know not everyone is like that and I appreciate all you lovely people who aren't. Thank you for being understanding and reasonable :) Personally for me, I don't particularly like how it looks, though I still do enjoy the game. It's subjective, obviously, but yeah, it just doesn't appeal to me that much. It's okay. I prefer Rosenberg's games myself, especially Indian Summer, but again, to each their own :) On a side note, for those of you who are confused about the name, it's German and the "Ä" has 2 readings. In this case, "Bären," it's "ay" like in "bay," so "Bayrenpark" when spoken and don't forget to roll the "R" a little bit ;) As for "park," so far as I know, in German it's spelled the same way as it is in English, but pronounced a little differently (in case anyone is wondering why the "bear" part is in German but the "park" part is in English). Hope this helps :D
Zee Garcia, voice of the people.
Zee killed it! I already bought this, but have yet to play. I am going to go play this right now! because of Zee hahahaha

Its Americans they are very stuck in their own culture thats why they still have a stupid measurement system
One question: What do bears have to do with this? :D
So does it replace Patchwork and Cottage Garden?
Ron Bonham yes
Tom says IN the video he likes it better than both
Yeah, really curious how they would compare this with cottage garden. I know Tom thinks patchwork is very overrated.

Zee's right arm looks disproportionately huge in this video
As soon as i read this i looked up at the video and his right arm is literally twice the size of his left...
I was a good 1/2 way through the comments before I noticed Zee's shirt. Ha! Awesome!!!
Yay! I finally bought a game on my own cognizance before it got a Zee Garcia stamp of approval (or polar bear roaring). I am officially a gamer gurrl now! ;p
Maricel Edwards enjoy :") boardgames are the best
Tom - birthday gift to Zee.... check! :)
Picked this up at Origins with my "knight of catan" or whatever they were calling it now, after only 1 play through, I was for sure channeling Zee then.
I'm with Zee on this game! Love it!!!! This may also be one of my favorite reviews yet. >
This is on my list to play and I get the feeling I'm going to really like it for all the reasons Zee described. I came to those conclusions myself. haha
played it at Origins. Loved it! Bought it as soon as I got home.

Why is Zee never mentioned in the intro, but always in the Miami Dice videos?
Old intro before Zee that can't get redone.
Miami Dice is just Tom and Sam. Zee is considered a special guest.
However, he's been in what seems like the last dozen Miami Dice episodes so.....
Fun review guys, for a very fun game.
It feels like this could be the next step game after introducing someone to Kingdomino (for new gamers).
Good review and the reasons why I bought it as soon as it had came out. Also, I thought the title was untranslated to make a pun, "bear n' park," which is most likely wrong but funny to me.
Or "Bare n' Park" which would drastically change the theme:-)
Great review guys. Love the game, agree both with Zee and Sam. Its really a "feelgoodgame" and the artwork could have been slightly better on the boards. Really kills patchwork for me

tonyro19 well yeah.... not sure how you managed that.
That's pretty much impossible, unless you guys took all of the Restroom tiles, which is a bit unlikely, IMO...
Why are you playing the danish version?
Jesse Whitehead ... but why do they have the danish version and how did they read the rules. I know that Sam loves vikings but I didn't know that he could read dansh.
OOoh cool 😊 I was waiting for this review

Maybe we should just say the Bear's in the Park? "Bear in Park"
my OCD screams at those octagonal tiles not fitting with the rest correctly
Funny, they translated the name into Danish. So I guess some languages did have a translation.
Who doesn't like barens?
Hey Zee, since when were bears part of the feline family? 😉
Someone should start the Barens fan club :D
Scoring seems similar to Jaipur
What other games has this game designer done?
mechashadow Sushi Go and Imhotep to name a few.
Archaeology: the Card Game, Sushi Go Party!, and Cacao to name a few more
Archeology? Now I'm definitely impressed..Sushi Go I was'nt so hot on but Archeology had a great flow to it..
Thanks! :)
Hahaha how I didn't see it before, you guys are the bears from we bear bears, zee is griz, tom is panda and sam is icebear, lol
Great fun game!!!
never ever better than patchwork. one of my favorite games. probably a comparable game for more than two players? good show though.
I want it
Just played this yesterday. Fun game but horrible insert!
Oh is that what that was? I thought it was a make your own treebucket kit or something.
Koala is a bear - confirmed!
Bear In Park

Maybe they feared that translating it to "Bear Park" might end up calling it "Beer Park" ;p
Hehe wookiebear
I agree, not translating the name is silly. I guess it's to appease board game hipsters?
Thought it was fairly good but not as good as I imagined it would be. A bit too simple.
I finally sold it. It's just too fiddly and too much to organize every time you want to play it. What a mess.
