Chipotle is a popular fast casual restaurant chain known for their Mexican inspired burritos, bowls, and tacos! They have several locations in different parts of the world like Canada, Germany, France, and the UK!
In this episode, the mamás ranked a chicken burrito, guacamole and chips, Queso Blanco, steak salad, chicken al pastor quesadilla, carnitas tacos, barbacoa burrito bowl, and Sofritas soft tacos!

Spanish speaking mom was on point. You can tell she has actually lived in Mexico and finds similarities in the ingredients though acknowledges it's put together differently. Tattoo mom was clueless. And we DO NOT ever use rice in burritos in Mexico lol, carbs on carbs just doesn't make sense, that 's an Americanized burrito.

The carbs on carbs thing is kind of on point. It's kind of like sprinkling grated parmesan cheese all over the top of a pizza. It's already covered with cheese.
She Mexican American pretty much has a different culture than someone from the major Mexican cities
@@user-pz6ph1hj2u Nonono not a good analogy. Grated parmesean as a finishing touch is more of a seasoning. On pizza it is used to add aroma or flavor to the pizza, as the cheese that is typically used in pizza is more of a melter cheese that is less strong.
so funny: the most Americanized mama hates Chipotle, while the others mostly approve.
Same thing happened when Buzzfeed did the Chipotle and Panda Express videos.
Second generation kids deeply insecure about being too Americanized, so they overcompensated and made a big fuss about authenticity, to prove their 'Mexican-ness/Chinese-ness' to each other. But the elders who were born and raised in the home country simply judged whether it was tasty or not.

It's the same with my grandma. She had secret recipes for everything. That she only released to my aunt's and dad when she passed. My dad is honored to have it even though he doesn't cook. He cried when he found out he was getting a copy too. I guess it was just the thoughtfulness
These videos are always interesting in that the more Americanized the person is the more they overcompensate by being critical. It happens in every single one. The reviewers who aren’t Americanized always give the highest scores cuz they don’t GAF about something seeming “authentic”.

Yes! Finally a mom that accepts change and is open. She would be fun to take out to try new things the other moms would just embarrass you 😂 This is not a fair video because Chipotle is customizable and each one could’ve added their own take on their own burrito.

not everything has to be authentic. My favorite type of corn dog is korean but i’m never like “this isn’t authentic american cuisine”
True but not referring it to mexican food would make more people accept that it isn't authentic. For example, taco bell doesn't sell authentic tacos. But they are still good imo, mexicans just don't consider them tacos.

All the lemon in the guac was probably so they can make big batches without it going brown on them. Fresh guac is best obviously, but I imagine that would be hard at a high traffic place. I prefer lime in it myself.
Fun fact: Chipotle used offer soft corn tortilla tacos. They got rid of them because hardly anyone bought them lol

@@edgarcachu yea it’s been almost a month, last was when they went to the Indian restaurant. Hoping they’ll do more of those. Someone mentioned that since she doesn’t eat all meats, she’s not in certain videos.

Listen. I used to work at Chipotle and it was SO CLEAN and SO FRESH. One day, when I was new, I got soooooooooo mad at my manager for throwing out a huge container of peppers I’d prepped because they weren’t cut “up to standard” 🤦🏾♀️ it was 30min to open and I had to wash them a couple times before cutting and do other stuff toooooo! 😩 That was rough.
One kind of cool thing was pulling all the kitchen appliances off the walls to clean the walls and floors behind/between them. I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants, and surprisingly, Chipotle is one of the two cleanest I’ve ever experienced.
I don’t eat there often, but when I do I appreciate the work that went into it

It's amazing what multiple foodborne illness outbreaks in a short period of time will scare a company into doing! One more incident and they might not have been able to stay in business.
Too bad it took people getting very sick to make it happen, but I enjoy Chipotle even more now that it has happened.

The flour toritllas are bomb. My husband is Honduran and loves their flour tortillas. I get him bowl and I always ask for 2 warmed up tortillas on the side! I enjoyed watching this video.

I'm Mexican American and my kids are half black and Mexican. I'm always making rice beans and carne asada and carnitas with homemade tortillas. I really don't eat out much. But its always nice to have a different taste from other Mexican places. 😁

its funny how real mexican ladies can appreciate that while its not super authentic it still tastes decent meanwhile if you brought mexicans teens who grew up in the US, they'd act like theyre being fed dog food.

They're always out of the crunchy shells when I order tacos so they put them in a flavorless tortilla. I almost thought the shells were discontinued.

The opinions of the mamahs really influence my decisions. I’ve never tried the queso from Chipotle, now I want to try it because they all rated it 10. And I know not to try the carnitas taco. When the mamah gave it a 7 instead of 10+ like the others, I knew it was bad bad.
The burrito bowls are actually amazing if you get the right combo... Theres good reason I never get the barbacoa bowl and get chicken instead.
I also get two types of beans if possible, the salsa verde, shredded cheese, and queso.
Chipoltle's Barbacoa is awful.
You can customize it you get what you ask for so.. I feel like if they actually went to chipotle and ordered the ingredients they wanted then they wouldn’t have complained
I have the whole cilantro tastes soap gene so I can't stand their quacamole for that reason lol so their queso is like a godsend to me.

How did she not know what black beans are? I know Mexicans usually use pinto beans or other brown beans but you definitely still see black beans in Mexico and Mexican communities lol Especially if you grow up with Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Salvadorans, they all use black beans

I work at chipotle and they look like they had the food sitting around. It looks mushy when is not. Taco shells should be crispy as well.
