The mask the lead singer is wearing also reminds me quite a bit of the indie movie called 'Frank' w/Frank played by Michael Fassbender that came out 10 years ago in 2014. That is an oddball film & an obscure reference for sure. I haven't thought about that film in quite a few years, so was quite surprised when it sprung to mind watching this. Oh wait. They reference the character Frank Sidebottom from 'Frank' in the message that's shown on the screen at the beginning lol. No wonder it reminded of the movie. I need to watch that movie again.

The more I hear of the howl and the hum the more I’m convinced that “hostages” must belong to another band or something. Because it’s so so well put together, absolutely everything works in that record and every other record of theirs I’ve heard are light years behind it.
