What do you mean "select all the gears and leave the gearbox in park" at 6:10? Do first switch through all of them first (to vent) and then leave it in park?
Did you not check transmission temperature when correcting fluid in level 3 position. It suppose to be at 49 Celsius. Or do you just idle the car for 10 min and let excess drain from position 3
And that is why you leave this job to someone who knows what they are doing. A minor point though - 10 litres is only needed if you flush the whole system I thought? If you are only doing what you did (no flush) then it’s 7.5 litres. Had mine done by MB last year and that’s what they billed me for. I live in Germany and my MB dealer only does servicing (not retail) so they really know their stuff.
When taking it Mercedes for a transmission service they do not remove and empty the oil in the torque converter from the bolt they just empty the oil in the pan and replace the pan and fill 7 litres. When emptying the torque converter as well then it’s 10 litres. We take it to an extent and offer a service that even Mercedes don’t themselves. When ordering these parts and speaking to the parts department they have stated many times that they don’t bother with emptying the oil in the torque converter and will usually supply 7 litres of oil and the filter kit.
Had my 2016 W222 Mercedes S Class S350L with 9G Tronic (725) gearbox serviced here today. These very friendly guys know their skills ... Top Job! I had the Torque Convertor drained too, so you would need 10L ATF! Thanks for getting me in asap to get this done ... You are a Star @enkamotors7012 🙏
Thanks for this video. I'm about to help a friend do his 9Gtronic service and found this very helpful. Thanks from Australia.
