Just discovered that thos game has also some kind of people limit, my public transport usage has come down about 15 000 (190-> 175k) when my city got 180-> 210k pop.
Quite admirable that the strong willed citizens of Kettle Bridge didn't get stuck in the "why me" mindset and went straight to work rebuilding the city. Maybe they could have waited for the tornado to move at least a block away before starting construction, but still admirable 😂
Spoken like a true city planner, there's citizens, buses, cows and mansions flying through the air, and your biggest worries are the roads and the quay wall 🤪 (I promise I'm not being unkind I just thought it was funny ❤)
This build is coming along really nicely actually. Especially with the new area created in this episode, and the Mixed Used zoning along that main road. And the tram line around the island - WOW! As a railway enthusiast and publuc transit nerd myself I do approve. It also looks very bendy; would be interesting to view a ride-along.
I'm from a tornado-prone area (southern US) and I can tell you that in real life, tornados can be even worse than what you saw in the game. We've had multiple tornadoes touch down at once and they move and create a path of destruction that can be miles long. It can take years for some of the debris and destroyed buildings to go away simply because of things like insurance policies not paying off or people and businesses not having the money to rebuild. It can have a rejuvenating effect, however. The last tornado outbreak we had kinda hit an older not so nice looking area and the area has been made to look better since.
I really wish the game would tune the number of trams per line to the usage rather than the lenght/number of stops. Or at least alow the decrease slider to go all the way down.
In my opinion you should ad the trams on the road with the mix-use buildings, there is lots of density there and more peopel in that zone comapred on the edge of the island. Acually just ad another tram line.
33:43 Adding that roundabout actually fixed it, one of the tramlines hadn't connected in the easterly direction until you did that. Could be handy to know for connecting tramlines at not-perfect angles in future.
Yay Biffa finally used his transport options that he purchased 4958371 years ago ( at this time Scrooge mcduck would build a money bin in the middle of your city )
I think the small group of islands that is near your city could be used as a park/nature reserve and you can either have a ped bridge or a boat across to make it more interesting.
I haven't been watching Biffa's magic for a year.... and now I fear I've been drawn back into the habit of watching every single episode again. Oh no! Save me!
I myself haven't watched for I think two years, if not more. Have got back with C:S2 release date closing in. C:S2 looks so much better than the original, in some ways. And the road tool...
I would advise Extended Road Upgrades mod for You Biffa. Making Quays, Overpasses and Tunnels with a click of a button. That actually can also be used to control zoning in some cases. Great content, TA !!
They didn't "forget". It's a new game, it works differently in many aspects, so it probably wasn't just a copy/paste of the old code. I am quite sure it will be added, hopefully soon.
I know you probably won’t see this - but I just wanted To say Thank you. I’ve been struggling with ptsd and depression for several months. For the past month or so I always have your channel on because your voice is very comforting and your content really brings me joy ❤ Hope you Will have a wonderful holiday-season 🎄
Hey Biffa I love it! It all does look very nice. ❤❤👌 Just the big train station 🤦♀🤦♂.... I hope you gonna fix the railway coming in and out...There should be bridges and tunnels that those rails won´t block each other up... I mean on a farmroad ok but near the main station it wouldn´t happen
Love seeing the tram go around the outside of the island! Great idea!! And laughed and laughed as the tornado tore thru town 🤣 It just wouldn't stop! Lot less damage than I expected!! Great episode🤩
Public transport is a pain to manage with the number of vehicules. They should have made it so the building can repair at the same time X vehicules but can spawn more. That way, if you exagerate the vehicules number, vehicules breaks without getting repaired but it works. Or at least, put aditional garage like we can do on some other buildings. I saw in other videos people making an island full of vehicules depots for the sake of having them in the city. It is nuts...
Great video as always but may I suggest something sir? Why have on street parking on the road in between the car factory and the beautiful multi storey car park?
Just discovered that thos game has also some kind of people limit, my public transport usage has come down about 15 000 (190-> 175k) when my city got 180-> 210k pop.
Thanks for a great episode. Have caught up on your series & decided to sub. Very interesting designs & ideas, making me want to play the game. Although my 570 could *run* the game.. I don't have high expectations, so will wait until upgrade time lol Thought how I'd like to build a few minor cities, on the outskirts of a larger town, use buses around each city, trains that connect the 4 outer cities & then trams to connect the outer cities to the center one. Try have the center one on an island so the trams go over the water, minimal cars as possible. Kind of want to try make it look like Barcelona. Not sure how it would work out but that's the fun of the game, finding out. After watching your series, sure i'll be A LOT better than I would have if I brought it on launch that's for sure.
We really need a new dev team to take a stab at making a high end city builder. Unfortunately CS:2 does nothing to move the genre forward, and even takes us backwards in many ways. So disappointing.
Anyone else see the semi truck decide to jump off the highway interchange at 1:40? I mean I'm sure it was blown off but I prefer the dukes of hazard thought of him escaping the tornado.
Please address healthcare, this whole video I seen the popup " tweet " about healthcare several times, yes the city looks pretty but everyone is getting sick :(
you should make sure the factory hub building is outside the colored area to exploit as much of it as possible. and it would be real nice if you could just click on for exampe a oil well and see how much it's producing without having to grab a node and check that way. and hope they change it so walking pathways and parks can connect to roundabouts.
What about a castle ? We allways need a castle somewhere in the city. So........ A castle and a Beautyyyyfull park all around. Thanks for the videos. (And why not the Eiffel Tower.)
The idea of the tram around the shore is really nice. But I suggest to supply a ton of paper bags and tissues in your trams. There wil be a lot of puke in there with this curvey layout. #rollercoaster 🤣
When you were putting that road in beside the Tram Depot, instead of trying to move the quay wall why didn't you just tear down that section of quay, reclaim the land from the water, and then put the quay back?
I NEVER understand why ANYONE would play with disaster, its neither fun or interesting just pain in the crack. no one EVER build emergency stuff cause there garbage.
Must be nice working on a small city where things move decently quickly. 8x on my city is probably 1/4 time, no joke. People walk in very slow motion. Leave the game on overnight just to increase city size by like 5K.
I'm so very jealous of PC users right now! But I suppose it'll just be all the more to look forward to whenever in the future they decide to port it to console (as, of course, a fuller game by then). In the meantime I love watching those road cuts and dips, one of the many things I imagined wanting from a sequel that they've implemented, and maybe my favourite! I love retaining walls and having to mess around flooding everywhere before being allowed to plonk them down is a real planning pain in the first game (which obviously, not being on PC, I can't have mods for). Although the water physics here still really confuse me. In the first game they were janky sure, but they seemed to follow a particular logic at least. With this game I can't quite picture what happens. That has to be an early version thing they'll fix down the line, right? Can't surely be as-intended? All in all though this looks so pretty and exciting. The way you get different seasons on the same map is another favourite thing. So many good things! And watching along with your playthrough is very fun. :) I have a fondness for the aesthetic of pylons and electricity stations, so I think I'd build somewhere with a lot of overland electricity lines darting off into various distances, maybe accompanied across valleys with cable cars, with lots of transfer stations and other similar looking buildings right near the houses. :) If the citizens don't agree with my assessment of the views, then I'll just consider that a boon of keeping land values in check. :) Ah, the projects to imagine! :D
For the zoning, the game prefers the first road placed, i try putting down my roads that i want the houses to build on first and then add the collectors in. Or sometimes redrawing in the collector if its an easy road, is easier than meddling with the paths. Also ive noticed the zoning breaking, if you pause the game and zoom in, you can see where the zoning has changed and right click to remove those little cells and your zoning will fix if you do it right. And this often happens if your pathing connects to the road in a way that creates a node or crosswalk ive noticed. 🤔 😅
I cannot wait for a zoning control mod. And a proper traffic manager. The AI messes up my traffic so much sometimes by doing ridiculous things like stopping in the middle of the highway just to cut across three lanes and exit. Like, sir or madam, get in the exiting lane before your exit please
Seems like a fun thing to do. Hopefully they work better then shelters in CS1. I never understood those and seemed to be bugged or something like that. It would be great if CS2 bunkers actually had people running towards it when disaster strikes. I'd love to see it 😃
Hi Biffa, thanks for your fantastic videos, I love finding out in the evening that there is another one. Feedback: I noticed in this video that your voice distorts during editing (for fun). That makes it a bit strange and weird; where is Biffa I think. Just my personal opinion! Keep it up.
I love this game but I STG zoning is going to turn me into the Joker. Either that or I'm going to stop zoning altogether once an All Ploppable mod is available.

Same here man, lol. Same here, dang guess I got a bit of the CP bug from Biffa and CPP...
Speaking of tram depot extensions, you can build another depot connected to the line, and that'd supply more vehicles.
Good thing you're adding more bridges Biffa. Otherwise we'd have to rename Kettlebridge to Kettle Keywall!
I'm from a tornado-prone area (southern US) and I can tell you that in real life, tornados can be even worse than what you saw in the game. We've had multiple tornadoes touch down at once and they move and create a path of destruction that can be miles long. Love this series. Don't forget services for the new residential areas. Lots of popups about health and internet
In my opinion you should ad the trams on the road with the mix-use buildings, there is lots of density there and more peopel in that zone comapred on the edge of the island.
Acually just ad another tram line.
Yeah been watching all this time and it just hit me that since the start of this game we haven't have to save a single rock. 😂
The bus shelter should be near the security gate.
He places it right where the cars exit 😂
33:43 Adding that roundabout actually fixed it, one of the tramlines hadn't connected in the easterly direction until you did that. Could be handy to know for connecting tramlines at not-perfect angles in future.
👍 Nice catch
That must have been a very happy accident and I love those 😊
@@capedkat I wasn't sure if it mattered until the trams came out of the depot and half of them went that way, which would have been impossible.
This has to be perfect, I just started eating and now I have this amazing video to watch
Enjoy 👍 😁
same here

awsome city you are building biffa , can wait until the next episode

You don't have to de-zone, you can just put the new zone over the top and it will work in 2. Just a little time saver.
I think the small group of islands that is near your city could be used as a park/nature reserve and you can either have a ped bridge or a boat across to make it more interesting.

I would advise Extended Road Upgrades mod for You Biffa.
Making Quays, Overpasses and Tunnels with a click of a button.
That actually can also be used to control zoning in some cases.
Great content, TA !!
and there is Ducksinarow Mod that acts like prop Line Tool too. QOL improovements.
@@Hellturbo81 I used both and imo Prop Line Tool is much much better, easier to use and having more/better options.
Really admirable dedication in building and aesthetically tuning the city. Can't wait for the next episode!
Car factory would have sprawling carparks around it, not a carparking building youd expect in a city centre!
It's a bit weird to me that we just got the zoning controle integrated in cs1 a few months ago and they forgot it in cs2.
🤷♂️
They didn't "forget". It's a new game, it works differently in many aspects, so it probably wasn't just a copy/paste of the old code. I am quite sure it will be added, hopefully soon.

😂
i need biffa to build a city with absolutely no public transport to see how big a city can grow and how long it could function.
I always love those silly challenge videos as well 😆
Not more or less then these though! I could happily watch Kettlebridge all day long 😊
@@capedkat Same.
As someone who hates dealing with public transport (and reluctantly does it anyway) I'd love to see this 😅
That’s called Columbus Ohio
I love the merging lanes on freeways, looks more natural and seamless. Wish I could play it soon

Building a city is quite easy. Building a good looking city is a lot of work. :) Thanks again, Biffa!
My pleasure! 😁👍
You could build a second tram station. One going CW and one for going CCW. It would give you 15 trams for both directions.
but with more hubs and smaller spaces you get more trucks to haul things theres only like 3 or 4 trucks a company has
Loving the Kettleside tram!

I'm surprised that you don't have more Police & Fire in individual districts have I've missed you placing them?
The perimeter tram is awesome Sir! I am going to do the same on my map, you the best
This is looking good but there doesn't seem to be any new parks, police or fire stations, and its a big area.
