I am so happy that the developers continue to improve the game. After the rocky start I really was not sure... Your content is always a joy to watch, thank you!
How can you be happy for this? Why have consumers gone so soft? The game should have been right at the start. I am not paying full price for an unfinished game.
@@jip5889 Then you can wait to buy it. It's not that difficult. I suspect one of the reasons is that they aren't boxed games anymore with difficult-to-obtain patches so as long as the developer is making proper updates there's a reason to buy the game. Or you can simply wait for the patches. Anyway, it's not like the game was unplayable when it was released. It's not like e.g. Hidden&Dangerous which was really heavy and thus cumbersome and had places where you could drop through the ground... (Yes, the Deluxe version was significantly better but they removed the tram...)
I suspect they wanted to get a first, working edition of the landscaping line tool out there now and can add in extra special things like circles and continuous mode later on as those things would be a bit more niche?
This looks like a really good update. I must admit when I saw the intro I was hoping this update might be about to give us a proper vanilla lane connector. I hope that’s something that they’ll add in a later patch - I worry those new asymmetrical roads are supposed to be what we get instead of a lane connector. Still every improvement is welcome.
Yes. This is great. I'm so glad they continue to improve the game. Every little update like this helps. I hope they will keep on and turn their reputation around and make this game truly the successor to the first cities skylines
I could see the line tools being really good for creating traditional English gardens with varying patterns or symmetry. Both types of garden/park creation would look good in the British and French quarters or be a way to tie in other parts of the city into the "old town" by having a landmark (like a church, castle, etc) with a large grounds that sits a bit away from the old town area. Allows for additional city planning around a "common old town" which might be tighter, narrow and more chaotic in it's layout and "aristocratic old town" with grander buildings and a more coordinated approach with larger lot sizes, more parks, etc that might sit on a hill or in more advantageous/beautiful spot on a river.
Need roundabouts with traffic lights. Most larger roundabouts in the UK have lights, otherwise you cant get on them, which is what happens in this game.
I miss the CS1 tool that allows us to determine the beginning and the end of a road name. That's such a simple thing but CS2 doesn't give us the option to customize where a street name starts and where a street finishes.
The delay in implementing this feature might be due to the significant computational load it would impose. Every vehicle would need to recalculate its speed and position relative to others, likely causing a substantial impact on the simulation’s performance.
I can see that long park asset as an excellent tool for creating Finnish style boulevards where you have a park and a gravel bike path in the middle and one way roads with parking on both sides, technically works like an ultrawide two lane road for all intents and purposes.
I really loved cities skylines 1 but I held my self from playing the second one until now, I believe now is a good entry point to the second game! please paradox release DLCs with special mechanics like in the first one!
One thing with cs2 is you can't just change some lane math on a junction and just because the traffic decreases on that junction assume that you've fixed it, because as the game is if you change some lane math on a particular junction you will find that a lot of the traffic that was wanting to go through that junction, now pick an entirely different route avoiding the junction altogether. This is really quite annoying as sometimes you can feel like you are chasing your tail because you just constantly keep moving the same issue to another junction and another junction. You will be able to see this even more clearly now with the new path following tool
29:18 i was thinking to use that park in the middle for bus shelter or tram stop shelter, for left-hand drive is easy to put in the middle of two one way road, for right-hand drive can be used to create your own bus station
2 MINUTES??? THIS IS THE FASTEST IVE EVER BEEN! btw Biffa, love your traffic fix videos they are the best part of your channel. Kettlewick is also a very good series. Keep up the amazing work!❤
1:00 I want to note something that these roads have that was missing from the Road Builder mod: the sidewalks go past the parking spaces! So the crosswalk only has to cross the actual driving lanes. i.e. 5 meter crosswalk vs 15 meter crosswalk. (or something like that). Much better! I would love to see that as a policy setting for the city, and would then be applied to all streets with parking (including parallel parking). The dream would be to also be able to have a third setting for that policy: daylighting. i.e. removing the last parking space and having a wider sidewalk for that bit instead. - and of course for this to change the numbers of pedestrians killed by drivers in the city.
Man....I wish they'd put as much effort into allowing custom timed traffic lights as they do into letting you make a line of bushes. Paradox! We need custom timed traffic lights!
I sure hope they do some work on the "weights" in the pathfinding algorithm soon. Traffic behavior is even more insane than CS1. I've looked at the output of the mods that dump the pathfind weights, but they are difficult to decipher with no documentation.
Biffa, just want to say! Your quality and consistent content puts you in one of the top RUclipsrs for me. Thank you for entertainment and honesty, so appreciated! Hope you continue to strive on the platform ☺️ and in life ofcourse
Ok, I’ve stopped playing it couple of months ago, even the new region packs are not that enticing to me, but I think this update will bring me back to the game ✌🏼👍🏼
I’m so glad for this update but even more for the parking ! I’m having such trouble with the Road Mod (the same one you use) with roads that don’t have any electricity or water coming although it’s integrated when I build them. Love your content btw, I started this game a few weeks back and you helped me understand it way better! You’re my « companion », I always build while watching your videos. Thanks from Switzerland ❤
I hope they fix the solarpanelplant soon.. the batteries just wont be used at night, which kinda hurts the economy at night, since there is unneccesary importing then
Some great stuff yet again, CS2 getting better every month. I am really dissapointed after the mention of roundabouts tho. The zonable no central curb one is a huge add-on, but the rest are just cosmetics .- to be honest I hoped the roundabout upgrade was making the ones already in the game work like roundabouts, with junction priorities. As it is, they are just an overly complex junction. ( demonstrated by the curb-less mini-roundabout which just becomes an uncontrolled 4-way). .... maybe in the future we'll get actual roundabouts
For the cul de sacs I can see using the small ones as they are more practical, the large ones may only be used at the end of an industrial large road so trucks don't look so awkward turning around. The roundabouts are not really new roundabouts but are just decorations for the centre of existing roundabouts. On the line tool, was there not a line tool for circles?
That's very cool, the only thing I don't get is why we've got separate tab for coul-de-sacs, where they are mostly just a little bit changed roundabouts. Apart from this very cool update, I'm very happy to try it soon.
Hmm new sorts of roundabouts is great, but to be honest, i don’t know why they make a difference between a ‘roundabout’ and ‘cul-de-sac’ as both can be either 🤔. To me, they look more like a new variation. The exception would be the cul-de-sac without center piece which doesn’t work as a roundabout.

The game incorporating more and more mods, even though it should come out with those features, as they already knew how popular they were in the first game...
My problem with the roundabouts is they are a majority of 1 or 2 lane only in city 1 large roundabouts used 3 as a minimum or even 4 lane roads like typical motorway junctions. This still hasn’t been addressed yet there should be more 3 lane roundabouts
The lanes depend on the roads you add them too, more lans going in and out equal more lanes on the roundabout. Not saying this is the best way, but it sort of makes sense.
You do realise that it is a 2 way road (which is why they are at the same angle.) The single road with angle parking has them both on the left and right at different angles. So they are in fact correct. (for left hand drive roads, they would be reversed.) The angle would be so that you could drive in forwards only, and reverse out the same way onto your road direction - If the were reversed, you would have to reverse in (causing a traffic jam of cars waiting for you).
Game getting better and better every day

game starting to feel ready and i mean proper ready...might be a xmas present to self now...gd on them working on the fixes
For the eighth time-
It would be a great fix of realism if the traffic didn’t all travel at the same speed. Eg, bin wagon is slower than a sports car.
Maybe suggest it on the forums, I don't think CO read my comments for ideas ;-)

They’ve fixed pathfinding for some service vehicles
As a Transport Enthusiast, I LOVE THE BUSES ACTUALLY PARKING IN THE BUS DEPOT🥰😍
I'm glad I returned to the game 1 year later, it's improving!
They need to had a pack with CS2 creators logo on the roundabouts, imagine red dots with a strange B in all over your city.
As a console player I'm so excited to see all this customization in the vanilla game! Hoping these will be available on console at launch 🙏
Oh, yes! Gravel parking lots for more beachy-looking beaches!
Such an awesome update. Especially with the fix of the trains being stuck at the train station when the station is very full!
we also need a small zoning update zones are kinda messy
Whilst it's nice that you can place cul de sacs on multiple lane roads, they are only ever on 2 lane roads in the UK for obvious reasons.
Cul de sacs are really great, now we can build the CJ's neighborhood in Los Santos
With all these roundabouts Kettlewick could do with a Milton Keynes tribute area. Could be called "Malted Keynes" with the biscuit theme!?
Instead of concrete cows, there could be concrete 'Gromit's

Broken the game on geforce now sadly! Also you’re not supposed to straight line a mini roundabout
