I have a K5S and love it (just more race focused than K6S). I prefer it to my RF-1400... However Scorpion R1 Air is also a strong contender! The Scorpion R1 is so good a bought two, a Kevlar and a Carbon. I would rate my AGV K5S a 8.9, Scorpion R1 Carbon a 8.7, Scorpion R1 Kevlar a 8.5 and Shoei RF-1400 a 8.3. Latches dont bother me but it comes down to fit and wind noise (and any brow thudder) for me so anyone else's experience may vary. I am in central NC, 5ft 9 but broad frame, size large helmet, I ride a black modded/rebuilt 2008 Triumph Tiger 1050 and a 2003 Yamaha R7 Anniversary Edition.
The safety info is what I would like to make content about! Can't wait to find out where I work tomorrow and start motorcycle shopping for a Yamaha R3!
@@CountersteerGarage I finally got fed up and removed the little black U from the visor (simple operation, one screw) and modded it with a set of needle files. I made the bottom of the black bar (the thing the latch grabs onto) thinner from front to back, and thinner from top to bottom, and I rounded over the corners. Then, when I put it back on, I installed it as far towards the front of the visor as I could (there's a slot that lets you move it forward and backward about 1.5mm). It seemed to help quite a bit. Don't get me wrong. It still kinda sux, and it still just hangs there in your field of vision when it's open, but it is a lot easier to get open now. Obviously not something I'd recommend if you're using it for racing, but for the average rider, it makes for a noticeable improvement.
I wear a Shoei Glamster. This helmet weights 1200gr (ECE22.05) and is now 1300gr. The lock on this screen is also stupid. You often push the helmet to the back of your head!! Iam thinking to swap to the AGV K6S now. Maybe it’s an idea to get this bracket of the viser?? I don’t drive a sports bike………but it must be watertight….because it rains here in. holland 3/4 year!!!
Ive ordered a shoei nxr2/rs1400(?) Ive got a thin neck and x spirit just blew my ears out. I get so much turbulence that ive now got permabent tinitus, used earplugs to
I have a love hate for this helmet - I have a white and Nardo gray - the latch on the white broke and now the visor can't lock down - White is now pillion helmet - The helmet is very light - teh chin bar is quite close though -i wonder if i were ot faceplant - while i may not break my skull i may get a broken jaw. Next size up was too big. So they sit on the shelf - i use my X3000 all the time..

R3 is the PERFECT beginner bike!
I bought this helmet based on your video. I use it for my EUC but I'll planning on buying a motorcycle eventually
How are you liking it so far? See what I mean about that latch? 🤣
You're right about latching thing is terrible especially when have gloves on is absolutely 2 hand operation
Absolutely crazy they’d do this to us 😅

@danhyatt2219 you put a lot of work into that modification! I just ended up removing the locking tab. Life’s so much better
make sure the ring on the visor locking mechanism is all the way forward with the adjustment screw at the top, should make it easier to release

Yeah I would definitely lean towards the Shoei RF
Do you know if they updated the latch issue on the new K6S?
I don’t know for sure but I doubt it, as it’s a benchmark AGV feature
WHY! =D I can't submit myself to this. I raise and lower my shields all the time... no way I'm falling for this. Thanks for bringing this up dude.
Shoei RF-1400 you’ll thank me later
@@CountersteerGarage I totally just did. Thx again - I'm sure it'll be niiice 👌

That’s what I ended up doing.
