    So, for anyone just finding this a year later, I have been testing the K6-S for a while, comparing it to a Shoei X-15, Arai Contour X, and an Arai Signet X. If you have a longer oval head, the K6-S fit is similar to the Arai Signet. No forehead hotspot. The Shoei X-15 and the Arai Contour are a little more intermediate oval shape. All my helmets are size large, but the K6-S feels a bit less snug, like I could drop down to a medium- maybe. The K6-S ventilates better than the X-15, I was shocked by this. On those hot days, you can actually feel cool air through the K6-S, I never feel that in the X-15, Signet or Contour. Interior is nice and soft, very comfortable. Not any noisier than any other helmet I own, but I wear earpeace filters. Viewport is massive. Easily the lightest helmet I own. I ride a 23 MT10, and the helmet stays stable in the wind, no buffeting. For the price, it's a great helmet. My issue is that it just lacks a premium feel. The paint is fine, but nothing special. The visor attachment is clever, but fiddly. The vents feel kind of cheap. And it's not super fair to compare a $500 helmet to $800-1000 helmets. That it even compares to those at all is a massive achievement by AGV. Under the Pista, this is now AGV's second tier helmet, and I'd love to see a slightly more premium version, like a K6-S+ with higher end paint, graphics, and clearcoat. Definitely recommend.

      This helmet runs large. I take in XL in almost every other brand, (61 cm head) but I need a large in the K6S. The XL K6S was gigantic on me.

      Coming from a Schuberth S2 to an AGV K6, I hated the visor mechanism. Switching between mirrored and clear is kinda annoying. You need to get the alignment just right then pull the latch down to click it in. With the mirrored lens it’s even harder to see where to align it. And the latch mechanism requires some pretty beefy fingernails to operate 😂

    What I don’t get is why can’t they make them quieter? Base designs on a helmet under 70db at high speed then engineer them for airflow etc to keep under that level. Over 70db for prolonged use is what does your hearing in. Plugs yes obvs but man on the moon etc…

      @@cp5472 The scorpion was my main helmet for over 4y, and I think it has a nicer premium feel. Plus visor and air pump to make it tighter.

    they better have improved the visor opening mechanism cause its CRAP on the K6. I had the K6 since it came out. Its all nice and light, but the opening button for the visor is just utter trash, i never got used to it, it's way to cumbersome to open at fully closed position. The button it self feels cheap and quirky, it takes to much effort to open to visor. I would get the NXR 2 instead should i choose today, it has better opening mechanism.

      I've had the K6 for 3 seasons, starting #4. You just have to learn the quirks.
      If you want that partial open it requires 2 steps. 1st depress the button. It will remain partially depressed. 2nd pull up on visor edge, it will stop w/ about 1/4" opening.
      If you want to open the visor you push the button all the way as you slide your finger or thumb up the button, pushing the edge of the visor up and open.

    Why is this a sport touring helmet and not a racing helmet?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Год назад +1

      Allthough AGV is calling it an inbetween sport-touring & race helmet, according own definition it doesn't really fall under the category of a sport-touring helmet. It doesn't have an integrated sun visor like most other sport-touring helmets. And therefor it is not specifically designed for longer touring trips. A manufacturer is basically free t categorize any helmet however they like. Therefor we maintain our own definition of what makes a sport-touring helmet. But we do show the competitors according the manufacturer positioning.
