Mumbai needs more than 800 kms of metro train network on the lines of Seoul, NYC, Shanghai, London etc. All municipal, suburban travel should happen via metro trains and longer distance daily commute via Vande metro. All existing railway network needs to be freed up for Vande metro and long distance trains only. This will make public transportation efficient and very safe. If it takes 20 years, let it be.
They should convert the local trains and bring the rrts or vande metro to local tracks then won't need so much for metro lines.!! And extend the new local train lines to new planning cities so congestion of Mumbai could reduce
