- Dr. Bruce Bugbee was just interviewed about the challenges of growing food in space for a great podcast from Meter Group called “We Measure the World.” It’s a fascinating listen, so we wanted to share it here: go.meter.group...
Dr. Bugbee has nearly 40 years of experience working with NASA to develop food systems for sustaining life during future deep space missions and for living on MARS. Developing these systems has contributed greatly to how crops are grown in controlled environments here on earth.
And down the rabbit hole we go
Bruce Bugbee is a living GOD.
Green leaf? Something else?
I see Bugbee, I upvotee.
It makes sense. If travel is going to take time we need to find ways to increase our likelihood of survival.
A strong thyroid would be very useful. Thanks Dr Bruce Bugbee for the info.
Fascinating.. still farfetched, but fascinating nonetheless
I suppose it's similar to any other type of medicine or supplement
a bottle at sea here (for Dr Bruce Bugbee): Hi, I've been searching for informations about how to devellop bigger and longer pistils on my plants (to improve safran crops, and maybe get nice looking cannabis buds) but i don't find any infos on the subject. Have you done any studies on the subject by any chance ? (i try to understand what kind of nutrition, stress, and light spectrum is needed to get bigger and denser pistils). Thx in advance if you see this comment, and i LOVE your work, i've watched almost all your videox on youtube =)
other than generally providing optimal conditions, & nutrition, pretty sure this trait is genetically determined, so the best way to develop bigger and longer pistils is through selective breeding. I've seen a range in pistil size, length, number, curliness, color fuzziness, etc
So, Dr. Bugbee.. is this technically considered a (G M O) cultivar of lettuce?
Would this type of lettuce be possible in nature without a lab and human constantly reproducing the gene and inserting it into tissue culture and seed stock, for example?
They modified yeast to do similar things like this, including cannabinoids in yeast to make it much faster than plants.. wouldn't it be faster to make the thyroid enhancers in a modified yeast instead?
You are awesome dude and I hope I get to work with you one day thank you for the things you have helped me with me over these past 5 years or so
If you wouldn't mind, I would love to sample/review your product line on my other grow channel as I am currently on my 3rd grow ever and love love love your nutrients program but im really not in a position to stock up on all the options and necesities....I'm doing master blend now but your program lends itself well to what I want to be doing in my journey to becoming a master grower 😎 Thank you for your time and kind consideration
pee=P
Your work is so cool. Thank you for sharing everything you do on youtube.
👍🏻👍🏻
GROWING FOOD IN THE SPACE?...HA-HA--HA!!!
THE SPACE DOES NOT EXIST MY DEAR, YOU SHOULD KNOW IT VERY WELL...
