We can also use On Off Switches for casino or arcade lights. Leave a 3-square hole that is vertical. Surround the On Off Switch on the middle right. Add a sideways spring and a shelmet, some dotted line blocks in a square, and voila. Casino or arcade lights.
Death Run Course, where the player that chooses to be death chooses the upper path and the rest of the players choose the lower path? Chaotic 3v1 party level!
You can use on off blocks to after you go through a door and beat a boss or do all sorts of stiff you need to make the player go back trough the door and before that activate some on /off blocks so you then put a bunch of enemies in on / off blocks and then after the room is (Re) loaded there will be the enemies ready to attack. You can even make items or bullet blasters spawn by that who will block you way (sorry for bad writing i am not american/british)
4:10 that course is impossible. If I die before completing the hardest section of the course, I have to start over because the checkpoint is after the hardest section of the course
i found out a way to give players extra power ups. just place a on/off witch, then place a lot of them on top, put blocks on the edges, then put things the help mario on the big area of on/off switches. players will have a lot of fun with this!
Once I've made a sub area in a on off based level and I use the super mario bros 2 mushroom at night and the on off block and put them together to make a cool challenge to get a key

The On Off Switches are so cool they can be so useful for alot of puzzle levels!
I used your Deadly On/Off Switch idea in a Persy Jackson enspired level.
I am definitely going to use these in a "Don't Jump" kind of level. They are even better for these kind of levels than P-Switches in my opinion.

another thing for number 2, you can globally load the shell with firebars or icicles and make it so that is lasts for the entire level.
