@@MrHippo-wt2tv I wouldn't call the lack of an Ice Flower lazy, as it will take more time, then say, the Superball (literally insta-kills or does no effect on enemies) since they have to come up with a frozen sprite for all enemies. Pokeys are probably the easiest addition Nintendo could add. Edit: And they did add Pokeys! Also, I would like the Ice Flower more, but the Master Sword and Link's moveset is more interesting than the Ice Flower.

Here's another thing for the hammer suit, you can have a wall and of you use crates to climb said wall, you can add a hidden mini-boss or a 10/40/50 coin
I think, it's very important to place the powerup out of the pipe if there's one placed in the pipe as well, because somethimes it takes a long time to spawn the item throught the pipe.

in my opinion, the best softlock is when you smuggle a warp box from 3D world into any other style, since it doesn't even allow you to pause the game, making you have to close and re-open the entire game :)
My ranking for every power up: 10th: Superball Flower It's very bad in terms of traditional levels due to the fact it bounces. And the fact every superball level is the same thing is just very annoying. I never found an use for this that can be original. 9th: Mega Mushroom It's ok, nothing too great. It can break a lot of stuff which makes for some unfair levels where you just break the floor if it's out of bricks or hard blocks and under them is just void. Neutral to me. 8th: Star Again, nothing interesting because the only scenarions it's used in is enemy spam levels and just some parts where you kill a lot of enemies to progress. Not that useful imo. 7th: Propeller Mushroom I like this power up. But it's never used in any levels and the fact you can't wall jump after flying really downgrades this power up. It's decent in terms of movement. 6th: Super Leaf More fun to use than the propeller. I just hate how you have to spam the B/A button to fly/glide. It's ok. 5th: Cape Feather Very overpowered and fun at the same time, but not that much used. 4th: Fire Flower A very good fighting power up. Whenever i have this power up i just feel like i can kill anything. And over all having 2 additional hits is a good thing. 3rd: Hammer Suit I like that you can literally break anything with this and the box spawning is really cool. This would've been 1st, but you can no longer trap people with boxes :(. 2nd: Mushroom Mushroom is just a good to have power up, nothing too crazy but nothing too bad. An additional hit is always nice. 1st: Cat Bell The diving, the scratching, the sliding, the climbing, everything is great about it. I love this power up a lot and is also overpowered just like the Cape.
One major difference between the Big Mushroom from SMM1 and SMM2 is that in SMM1, you can break breakable blocks from the side as well, not just from above and below.
Does anyone else dislike how Nintendo removed some of the fun Easter eggs from Mario maker 1? I can’t believe they got rid of interacting with the title screen, the fly swatted mini game, the hidden CRT filter, mystery mushroom costumes, and even the idea book. I’m pretty sure that Mario maker 1 was the only game with a digital manual that actually has the magic of the physical ones. While I do see the things added in Mario maker 2 as way more important than the stuff that they took out, those little things kept Mario maker 1 from feeling like more of a game than a glorified dev tool.
Now that the 3.0 update is out, now you'll have to talk about, the Masks, Super Acorn, P-Balloon, SMB2 Mushroom, and the Boomerang Flower and Frog Suit!
Whenever I use invisible blocks I usually put some sort of indicator. I'll build a symmetrical structure with a visible block on one side and an invisible one on the other side because humans hate a break in a pattern. Or I'll surround the block with coins so players will inadvertently find the block

In vs mode, I played a level with the super hammer and there were blocks which only the hammer could destroy and I hammered the hammer ? block and there were about 2 blocks down and 5 across and I was on the last pair and I didn't want to break them! It was so funny! Then I just quit the match because I wanted to and no one got and points lol!
From your tips on the propeller mushroom i can see something where you put the no jumping condition and make mario jump forcing him to stay off the ground
Can we put the decorations as indicators for the invisible blocks? Like say put a flower in an invisible block that has a fire flower to melt to down some coins frozen in ice.
So you can't have secret stars in hidden blocks for the player? I make custom campaigns and quite a few of my levels have hidden stars for the players to find, so I place them in areas like on the side of a wall or right above a door. Same with 1-ups.
8:55 I actually disagree with this, in a speedrun like you showed, that's one story, but in a level with no time limite, having an indicator for each section takes away all challenge and it becomes a *stand on the hard block* level. So unless it's a fast paced level with a tight time limit and challenge, indicators for the superball are kinda boring.
