I left my husband at Sears for an hour while I went to Hobby Lobby. Picked him up. Next day Sears arrived with delivery of $3000 worth of power lathes, table saw, router, etc....... NEVER leave a credit card AND husband at Sears tool dept while he is " just looking around". 🤪😳🤔
True Story: I was in college studying business, the class was broken up into groups, and we were given the assignment to research Sears and come up with a presentation for what Sears should do for the next 5 years. There were 6 groups, each group had 4 weeks to make a presentation, and at the end of the 4 weeks we were to present to the class. We were never told that people from Sears would be coming to observe our presentations. So, on the day when everyone is to present, we see people from Sears, and everyone immediately says “oh no.” Because every group suggested that Sears close. Sears has been losing money for 3 years in a row, and had no opportunities to turn things around. So, for 2 hours these people from Sears heard presentation after presentation about why and how they should close. All this occurred three years before Sears actually closed.
@@inthejcurve7968 you had 4 weeks to figure it out and it was for an assignment. I don't think anyone is going to research for a month to give you an answer.
@Jerry H The assignment was open-ended. We were to do research and determine what action the company should take, not do research, fix any problems found, and keep the company up and running. Sears was in terrible shape, and was beyond repair. This was unanimously agreed upon by each group, who was working independently, but still came to the same conclusion. Lastly, everyone is entitled to an opinion. The other commenter doesn’t have to do any research to give his opinion, it’s just an opinion. I am always open to hearing someone else’s point of view/ opinion.
@@inthejcurve7968 ok, thanks I understand a little better. I'm sure that Sears had numerous experts on the payroll and it's kind of funny because they could have saved some money and listened to the college kids.
ME AND MY DADDY WENT TO SEARS EVERY WEEK ON WEDNESDAY. IT WAS SALE DAY, EVERYTHING WE HAD AND WE WORE WE GOT AT SEARS. I MISS IT, THEY CLOSED MY STORE MANY YEARS AGO. MY STORE HAD A SNACK BAR IN IT AND MY MOM WAS THE EAT OUT QUEEN. ANYWHERE WE WENT WE STOPPED TO EAT OR GET AN ICE CREAM FROM THE TASTY FREEZE.
The Sears store downtown San Antonio had a custom saddle shop that made saddles for Roy Rogers Tex Ritter Gene Autry and several movie and tv stars they also had the best candy shop the fung was amazing but best of all was Christmas they had Santa land in the basement with a train to ride animated Christmas characters the display windows on the street level had all the mechanical characters in different Christmas themes i miss that old store. The store on the south side had really big murals of the texas frontier and the battle of the Alamo on the upper wall's all the store's had a gun department that store was demolished for a grocery store the one downtown for a library
That's me and my parents. I went to secretarial school to become a legal secretary. I ended up with a degree in criminal justice and working for the department of corrections. Secretaries don't make as much as a correctional officers. It had to be hard to say I went to college to be a C.O. LOL
I’m 14 and my daddy works for Dillard’s fixing cash registers and stuff at a distribution center the only reason we buy stuff at Dillard’s is if it’s on sale cause then he uses his discount on it
As of today, 13 Sears employees gave this video a thumbs down. I don't shop at department stores because their stuff is overpriced. I gave this video a thumbs up.
The inability to recognize the need for change together with inflexible management that cannot change leads to downfall of ma y organizations, like Sears.
I got halled off to get lottery tickets on my days off. took 6 hours at different stores. to get certain tickets. but I did figure out that my DAD wasn't going to be around forever. on Nov. 6---2011 he hit the streets of gold.
I wish my Dad were still alive....I'd go down to Sears (is Sears still open?) and look at the tool boxes with him.
Sears is gone, but you can still get Craftsman tools at Rona and Lowe’s.
Not opened
I do miss the days when we could go down to Seats & Roebuck and look around. You could spend a whole DAY there!
Yep, been there done that. LoL

If my woman goes to the store for a bag of dog food, she comes back with a whole truckload of stuff and a (nearly) drained checking account.
And that's FINE! because then he can't say anything about what I bought at Hobby Lobby!
True when he said everyone goes to Sears just to look around and not buy. That's why they went bankrupt.
Brilliant comedy! Love it! Thank you!
I’m love ❤️ this guy . He doesn’t need to use useless profanity . He just talks about life . I relate to his stories .

Then you failed at an opportunity.
@Zero Cool I’m always open to another opinion. What would you have suggested that Sears had done in order to prevent closing?

Sears is no longer in business at least not where I live
@@patriciaferrell9418 I checked on it. Sears is still in business in Florence, South Carolina, and elsewhere, though apparently not where you live.
Hilarious!
My brother brought that heavy red metal tool box and its been in the basement ever since.
Most Sears stores around here are closed now. Lucky for us my optometrist has a shop in Walmart.
Just found him so true and funny can not beat the south
Nobody hangs out at the mall anymore. It was the go to place when I was growing up
That looks like Rick Rood the wrestler at 2:20.

Amazon is the Sears & Roebuck of this century.

Sadly they moved to CVS & Walgreens now 😂
I hate it that Sears closed. They had a very reliable (if limited) auto service department. And they always had some nice conservative men's clothes.
❤😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The son wanted to be closer to the paneling and 72 piece tool chest.
My dad is David Jones.
Sears is gone but Walmart will carry on.
Craftsman. ends with man.
Bought a gear puller once. Had no clue how to use it but always wanted one and looked great on my pegboard

Hate department stores? I don't even know where to find one.
No kidding. They all closed where I live. Amazon is it, that and Walmart.
